Berserk General Discussion Thread

Btw
I kind of wonder if the Idea of Evil is higher dimensional due to being the platonic concept of evil taken form. It definitely is above 3 Dimensional beings.

Something something Griffith is the author of reality lmao. Unfortunately, I don't think we have anything explicit enough to justify it. We don't even know the scope of the Astral World. I saw the CRT for the IoE btw. Looks nice, I wrote a comment/response that I haven't sent yet. If you need any scans for future CRT's let me know. I started a Berserk sandbox.

Edit: Didn't the Godhand have conceptual manipulation before? Would you happen to know if/when it was removed?

Whats the sandbox got?

No idea when that was (Unless you’re referring to reality warping which i erased). Right now hey only have it in a very limited way under causality manip.
But its for sure a super real and not wank thing

:Spongebob Stinky Sound Effect:
Unfortunately, I don't think we have anything explicit enough to justify it.
If God of the Abyss (2) is anything to go by, the IoE is supposed to be the collective consciousness of humanity, the ego of universe of Berserk (which we can assume to be the same as ours), and just quoting directly, "Humans desired reasons, reasons for pain, reasons for sadness, reasons for life, reasons for death. Why were their lives filled with suffering? Why were their deaths so absurd? They wanted reasons for the destiny that kept transcending their knowledge...and I produce those, as it is what I've been brought into existence for, I control fate. Obeying the will of the essence of manking I weave every human's destiny... I created the lineage that would give birth to the man you are and created the appropriate context for you, all the encounters you have had so far were all part of the destiny that led you here as well..."

The IoE really sounds like an anti-Force in that in comparison the Force always ensures that the good things will always happen (such as the Jedi always winning) the IoE always ensures that bad things always happen.

I'm just gathering scans for the Apostle physiology stuff, since I had access to the guidebook. Maybe I'm mistaken about the conceptual manipulation?

I am conflicted on this. I think the Idea of Evil might have a basis for Type 1 Conceptual Manipulation, since when Miura mentions three Worlds (Physical, Astral & Ideal), and some of the descriptions support it being Platonic. In other words, I think If we were serious about R>F transcendence, it would only apply to the Idea of Evil. There's a difference between the Godhand, and IoE in the level of Abstraction. That's why I mentioned the scope of the Astral World, since the Astral manifestations we see don't go beyond Earth, as it relates to the Godhand.

Edit: I saw something about the Idea of Evil's name in Japanese, because the kanji in the name intentionally reference the Theory of Forms, according to a translation I read. Apparently, the name in Japanese also contains parts meaning base form and source, but I'd need a translator to go over the nuances.

I'm okay with that, the Idea of Evil is functionally the god of Berserk, it makes sense for it to have that transcendence. The Godhand can be seen as heralds of the IoE anyway who borrow some of its power to do things like control sword slashes.

Yeah, leaning towards this rn as well. Just trying to find stuff for the apostles and godhand, without UES its difficult. I think they are capped at where they are until that gets resolved.

Does anyone know how to make a gallery on Fandom? I currently use imgur links I gathered

None of the anime adaptations do justice to how Guts ages over time from his first chronological appearance through the end of the golden age. In the manga he actually looks like someone in his late teenage years.

I was watching episodes of the memorial edition Golden Age show, and if I didn’t know better, I’d think Guts was in his early twenties like in the Black Swordsman arc.

Lol, I thought I'd share this with everyone. I might have found some supporting evidence for a huge upgrade for the Idea of Evil and beings of the Divine Domain (like the God Hand), but I'm still mulling it over.
