Can you summarize the argument and the Wikipedia link more, I don't fully understand

In our references for common feats page it says: The object must be launched from the surface of the celestial object such that it never returns to it on its own (escapes far into space). Does not apply to flying objects.

Also it should be noted Gru's airship isn't exactly like a rocket.

Also, the laser's power can vary, as shown with the scene of it heating up the coffee.

Should we be splitting Kevin Stuart and Bob from the main minion profile on account of them having different abilities (martial arts and zodiac transformations etc)

The summary is that in the end the space ship reached 10.2 km/s or higher and that was necessary. Idk what they're talking about in common feats, they're deadass contradicting themselves here. Whether it is launched or whether it is flying, to escape Earth's gravity (and thus reach the moon or another planet) you'd need a speed of ~11km/s as otherwise you'll get pulled into orbit or back down.

The fact it takes 3 days to get to the moon means it seems escape velocity isn't necessary.

You misunderstand. You need 11kms at launch. Then you travel slower once you escape the gravity to save on fuel. They reached 11km/s at launch, dropped the engines and travelled at a lower speed later.

To be fair, we don't see exactly how the Minions launched in the first place, but I can add 11.2 km/s in the blog.
