Deltarune: Gerson Statue calc update

CONTEXT

During a fight against a moving statue against Susie, the statue swings in a slow-mo cutscene as we can see the sound waves moving. This was then calculated by @Qurbonboev in this blog, reaching a result of Mach 34.

PROBLEMS WITH THE CALC

The app or program used by the user is likely miscalibrated. The measurements of the sound wave, as well as the swing (which is visible yet not accounted for), are incorrect. I have verified that myself after recalculating the feat from scratch using the Windows program "Measure Pixels", which provides a more accurate result.

RECALC

(90+63+76+76+82+72+62+51+125+104+107+123+23+6+10)/43 = Mach 24.88 (Hypersonic+)

PROBLEM WITH THE KE FROM THE HAMMER MASS

The hammer mass was calculated with faulty pixelscaling as well.

latest

Using this program is unnecessary since we have the pixel values under the characters.

Kris = 36px/167.95cm
Susie = 43px = 44/36x167.95 =
200.6cm
EDIT: Susie is 44px tall

Susie = 44px = 44/36x167.95 = 205.27cm

That's not how you calculate an ellipse, you're basically calculating a diagonal. We will rotate his head on photoshop so it looks like a straight ellipse.

WRkf6yZ.png

So, from the corner of the mouth to the pink corner of the ribbon to measure the height, from the back of the head to the tip of the nose to measure the length.

Rzxm2BR.png

  • Susie: 183px/205.27cm
  • Gerson: 189px = 189/183x205.27 = 212cm
  • Ellipse Height: ~48.1px = 48.1/189x212 = 53.95cm, I will assume the height is equal to the depth since its oval shaped. (b, c = 53.95/2 = 26.97500cm)
  • Ellipse Length: ~77px = 77/189x212 = 86.37cm (a = 86.37/2 = 43.18500cm)
  • Ellipsoid Volume: (4/3)pi*0.43185*0.26975*0.26975 = 0.131626835m3 0.5 to compensate for one of the sides of the head being smaller = 0.0658134175m3

mNpgjV7.png

  • Susie: 183px/205.27cm
  • Gerson's torso height: 72px = 72/183x205.27 = 80.76cm
  • Gerson's torso width: 128px = 128/183x205.27 = 143.51cm
  • Ellipsoid Volume: (4/3) x pi x 0.71755 x 0.4038 x 0.4038 = 0.490069529m3
  • Gerson's leg height: 60px = 60/183x205.27 = 67.3016393cm (h)
  • Gerson's leg width: 32px = 32/183x205.27 = 35.8942077cm (d)
  • Cylinder Volume x2: pi x (0.358942077/2)^2 x 0.673016393 x 2 = 0.136182362m3
  • Total Volume: 0.490069529+0.0658134175+0.136182362 = 0.692065309m3 (reduced from 0.767517075m3)
eaH41Nh.png

  • Susie: 183px/205.27cm
  • Hammer Handle Height: 192.2px = 192.2/183x205.27 = 215.58cm
  • Hammer Handle Width: 14/183x205.27 = 15.71cm
  • Cylinder Volume: pi x (0.1571/2)^2 x 2.1558 = 0.0418332231m3
  • Hammerhead Height: 175px = 175/183x205.27 = 196.30cm
  • Hammerhead Width: 87.73px = 87.73/183x205.27 = 98.40cm
  • Cone Volume: (1/3) x pi x 0.4920^2 x 1.9630 = 0.497644961
  • Total Volume: 0.497644961+0.0418332231 = 0.539478184m3
  • Volume of the Statue: 0.539478184m3+0.692065309m3 = 1.231543493m3
  • Mass of the Statue (2500kg/m3): 1.231543493x2500 = 3078.86kg
  • Mass of the Hammer (2500kg/m3): 1348.7kg
  • KE of the swing: 0.5x1348.7x8535.11627^2 = 11.74 Tons of TNT (City Block level)
  • KE of the statue: 0.5x3078.86xx707.4375^2 = 0.1841 Tons of TNT (Small Building level+)

Lifting Strength

  • The Lifting Strength will be calculated by taking the time it took for Gerson Statue to accelerate the hammer.

On the original swinging scan:

  • Sound: 43px = 43/192x205.27 = 45.97cm
  • Timeframe: 0.4597/343 = 0.00134023324s
  • Movement: (90+63+76+76+82+72+62+51+125+104+107+123)/192x205.27 = 11.02m
  • Acceleration: 2*11.02/(0.00134023324^2) = 12270176.8m^2
  • Force: 1348.7x12270176.8 = 1,687,506.6919 Tons-Force (Class G)

Kris shoves the statue away

Another feat I neglected was whne Kris shoved the Gerson Statue away, which in terms of speed and KE is a bit irrelevant (9-A KE), but in terms of lifting strength, it might be interesting. I will be using this version as it puts light on the sprites, and leaves the standing Susie sprite on screen, making pixelscaling easier. As always, I will be overlapping the frames to measure them. For some reason the original calc uses the distance between the first layer of sound, connecting it to the second layer to the determine movement.

  • Susie: 261px/205.27cm
  • Sound: 222px = 222/261x205.27 = 1.7459m
  • Timeframe: 1.7459/343 = 0.00509008746s
  • Statue Movement: 338px = 338/261x205.27 = 2.6583m
  • Speed: 2.6583/1.7459x343 = 522.25m/s (Supersonic)
  • Acceleration: (2*2.6583)/(0.00509008746^2) = 205202.902m/s^2
  • Force: 3078.86x205202.902 = 64424.75 Ton-Force (Class M)

Now I take this, and scoop it ALL into a blog.

Which calc do you think is more accurate.

Stop flooding the thread with irrelevant commentary
Not really? One of the imagen literally not loding to me and the video is literally removing the darkness from the room

Like should sound fine to you

Edit: and the whole thing with gerson head just pixels lacking just some pixels

Refresh the page, that's on your end only.
the video is literally removing the darkness from the room
We don't care about altering the game and datamining to get conclusions, that's not canon. Stop posting thoery videos and making commentary that's not about the OP, or I will consider it derailing.

First of all this paragraph leaves impression as if you did same pixelscaling as me, and get different results due to my program being miscalibrated. While, in reality you calculated path of Hammer with totally different from mine way.
It's small nitpick, but I would prefer if you rephrased this to "I think method by which @Qurbonboev calculated path is wrong. I instead calculated actual shown path of Hammer".
Susie = 43px
Susie is 44px, you can verify it by yourself
You have a bit of problems with your lines.
image-with-lines.png

Your lines should always connect to each other ends (Hammer doesn't teleport). Most of the time it's good, but sometimes (I indicated by orange line most prominent error) it's not. Just fix it by a bit.

That's not how you calculate an ellipse, you're basically calculating a diagonal
Ellipses don't have diagonal for obvious reason(they are not polygons). They have diameters, and longest one is major axis. Minor axis is straight line that goes through center of ellipse, and is perpendicular to major axis(not what is happening to your exes).

Also, you forgor LS. Swinging heavy objects is valid LS feat. To do this, calculate acceleration via a=2*S/(t^2). Timeframe is calculated via measuring how much sound waves moved during swing.

Ellipses don't have diagonal for obvious reason
Which is why you can't just calculate a tilted ellipse like that, it's tilted at a 45º angle, yet you started at the appeared bottom to the appeared top without accounting for the tilt, which I corrected. I know how ellipses work.

I did, and you're right.

Fixed.

PROBLEM WITH THE KE FROM THE HAMMER MASS
For the record, sizes were pixelscaled by @Edutyn, I can't in good conscience claim their contributions as mine.
Ellipsoid Volume: (4/3)pi*0.43185*0.26975*0.26975 = 0.131626835m3 0.5 to compensate for one of the sides of the head being smaller = 0.0658134175m3
Why his head is even bigger now? I hoped that you would decrease it, not increase it even more.
Gerson's torso height: 72px = 72/183x205.27 = 80.76cm
Gerson's torso width: 128px = 128/183x205.27 = 143.51cm
Ellipsoid Volume: (4/3) x pi x 0.71755 x 0.4038 x 0.4038 = 0.490069529m3
We aren't measuring his torso, we are measuring his middle part, which is his shell/armor.
Better pixelscaling of his middle part height would be something like this.(Don't pay attention to that 82.4 cm line).
m-Npgj-V7.jpg

Still waiting for your calculations of LS.
I already outlined how to calc LS of Statue swinging hammer.
For Kris pushing Statue back, current LS calc is bad. Just use Energy/Distance, and for Distance use Kris throw distance (since their movement would be mechanically similar to throw).

Wouldn't it be easier (and more accurate) to find the angle of the hammer's displacement in order to determine the total distance SOJ had to move it and then compare it to the soundwaves?

I did a rought calc, and the speed would be Mach 50

No. We can see the swing's entire path, why would we assume a perfect angle?

Anyway, this is pretty much done. I just need the general consensus on whether or not this new calc is better than the previous one by a few CGMs after evaluating it.
