Ehh. To get the coreflame you need to align with it the same way you usually want to align with a Path to use its power. It's the whole reason there's a Trial such as that of Strife. Phainon did not align with Hunt so he could not complete it. It's more accurate to say that the Heirs are already on a Path and that the Coreflames help them walk it down further thus gaining more power from them.

This explains how easily Evernight can align with the Coreflame of Time, I suppose? (Unless she hadn't finished the Trial, but she intended to use it to infiltrate the scepter as a "cog" in the world, and since she managed to gain access...)
But in a profile or in versus, does the Coreflame actually serve any purpose?

Tbh, i am still confused about did otto create new possibilities in different timeline sense or just recreating the past in retrocausality sense, without change the present event of course

cuz according to story otto went into past and slimed honkai beast that killed kallen which created all other possibilities where shes alive
and then after chronicles and moon arc dropped its about otto using PE descent level energy into tree to do that cuz hoyo lowkey larps their own story

I mean it's pretty clear the timeline (past) existed prior to Otto's intervention since we literally see them side-by-side as they're happening. Otto js reached the Wedge and caused new possibilities for Kolosten in the past specifically.
He traced back the past of his timeline, and then caused a change in the past which led another timeline to branch out from the past. Technically both current Hi3 and Kallen's timeline should share the same past as they would converge at the point prior to the execution
