This is going to be a doozy. I was told that I couldn't put Google Doc links here, so I just updated my blog on Fictional Indexing Wiki.
What this is NOT:
1. A CRT.
2. An insult to anyone on the wiki, who helps make the wiki and forum, etc
What this IS:
1. I made all of this and I'm curious about what the biggest powerscaling forum says about it.
Okay, so what does this contain?
1. 1-A (Old and New) debunk
2. Dimensional tiering debunk
3. Transfinite tiering debunk
4. Faux-transfinite (OBD) tiering debunk
5. Tier 2 debunk
6. Tier 0 debunk
7. Critique of VSBW methodology
8. Critique of poor arguments (like 'fiction can be illogical')
9. Marvel and DC debunk
10. (Unfinished) SCP debunk
11. Using Goku as a reductio ad absurdum

I made this out of bitterness towards toxic powerscalers. If there's any bitterness in the document, that's why. I apologize for this in advance. In either case, a straight forward copy and paste wll continue. Warning: it's long! The original document has some images which are missing---if there's any claims without their images I will gladly provide them via screencapping the original.

If any of you guys wants to execute me for having bad powerscaling opinions, I can just post my real life address here so you can come send hitmen (paid in bitcoin) to shoot me with rocket launchers. That would seem fair yeah.
 
Casual here; I only skimmed since I don't plan on reading the entirety of a blog literally about a seventh of the length of the KJV Bible on this topic anytime soon. Was interesting in bits despite your shower-argument emotional charge. Somewhat reductive TL;DR seems to be that much cosmology powerscaling is a standardized external imposition via recognizing general alignment with general patterns and frameworks (somewhat aesthetic moreso than 100% logically rigorous or even internally consistent) not necessarily planned on by the authors. Also Marvel & DC are all over the place and goofy. And fandoms have lots of annoying people.

Yeah, many probably most know all this & just aren't neurotic about it (or not just it).

You seem to not like powerscaling or who-would-win stuff & do have creative ambitions beyond, so my two cents is to just not give any of it much thought beyond what would make your work better in your eyes. If you're afraid of your writing being powerscaled, you'd do better to just keep a low profile and not Streisand Effect yourself. As well as, y'know, be mature enough to not mind trivial things that others inevitably do, Rule34 and all that. Be free.

I think OP is a sockpuppet of a prior user who got pissed that SMT is scaled as high as it is and has gone ballistic as a result.

Due to concern from the community, the OP has been checked for IP overlaps and came back negative.

This is not a 100% confirmation that they're not a sockpuppet, but as it stands there is no evidence.

I’m gonna be completely honest here, and I don’t mean to offend you, this is neither a “gotcha” type comment.

But why would we want to execute you for having bad powerscaling opinions? We have plenty of dumb or borderline idiotic opinions a lot of times here.

You say “Marvel debunk”, “DC debunk” or shit like that, but who even takes these things seriously? Your thread was instantly moved to the Fun and Games board, which is meant for jokes.

This is not just for you but for everyone who sees this: Don’t take yourself too seriously. We’re far less important than we think we are.

Yeah I very much did not want to change the wiki because of philosophical and pragmatic concerns over CRTs and stuff like that.

I read about bunker_man and although I disagree with him on many things he has a more reasonable methodology than most powerscalers.
The Google Doc has a very clean split between the period where I thought powerscaling was objective and the period (which is now) where I think it's entirely devoid of truth. His stuff inspired me to build the Tour De Force, among other things.
Namely the former is angrier than the second. You can see hints of the second in the parts where I get confused and angry that people get angry over powerscaling.

If I may add my two cents, I think it's stupid that Fire Manipulation is considered durability negation, with seemingly no consideration given to how much energy the fire actually has.
It's funny that Zuko is apparently allowed to oneshot someone like Vegeta in equal speed on this site, but I'm not enough of an Avatar fanboy to just roll with that unironically. Unless someone can explain to me how it actually works.

Simply put.

Fire denatures cells (chemicals even organic ones are sensitive to temperature)

And if there's no heat resistance then fire manip is a good way to deal damage even ignoring energy output because of its nature and how organic matter interacts with the temperature

It's treated as dura neg
