Devil May Cry Discussion Thread

Reserves are ones who replace characters with no supporters. But technically, since Alucard gets points, GD, and extra matches, he will keep up with other characters and automatically rank higher — because right now, I am counting points first, then matches played, then GD.
So with supporters backing him, Alucard is safe for now

The elimination category table changes by default at the end. Right now, I am simply counting who from the elimination pool has played more matches — but that's just a current observation, since points still come first.

By other hand if Dante gets a win here, he might almost get ticket for Knockout Stage already 🤷🤔
Alucard so far has one loss and one win. And honestly I actually missed the first thread.

Some random games that have collab with DMC. Could possibly be used for aura if it's allowed and I'm desperate enough lol

DMC is also featured/collab in

SMT 3 & SMT Dx2
Free fire
Tsukoyomi
Street Fighter 5 outfits
Monster Hunter World outfits
Marvel vs Capcom 3 & Infinite
Project X Zone 1 & 2
Wonderful 101
Sengoku Basara vs Devil May Cry

Teppen

Really hope Dante and others come when SMT III gets remade.

I'd be down for that.

Kazuma Kaneko, guy that did the character design in SMT 3 and Dante/Vergil's DMC3 DTs, own game came out yesterday, looking SMT inspired.

Has Dante, Vergil & Nero in it.
On the Switch paid, free to play on Steam. No clue if it's good though.

Whoah, so he made his own studio?

New crossover?

I hope DMC 6 is set in the underworld with Mundus as Vegil and Dante's final enemy, nothing to do with Nero. I want to learn more about the underworld, something that hasn't been explored much.

Then Capcom have to use deux ex machina to make Mundus somehow stronger, because either Dante or Vergil would murk him, easy.

The Demon World is still a mystery at large so idk how I would feel if they went and explored the thing. It would make sense in a world building perspective since its a whole realm of endless possibilities

Personally I don't want Mundus to come back as the main boss, maybe as a side quest for either Vergil or Dante, preferable Vergil since he has a story line open with Mundus but besides that nah. Dante already defeated him twice and it would only kill better ideas.

At this point it would be a power creep to create another enemy too given the power the Twins have. A new demon? Where was that during the past games? Where does it fit in the lore? stuff like that

A God? Hmmm kinda? Gods are already a thing since DMC2 lore but they supposedly died in a war with demons

Going full DBZ?

I think alternate worlds. Bayonetta and DBS did it, and technically DMC has already done it too, twice. PoC and the DMC2 novel.

I think alternate versions of themselves could be interesting. Maybe some higher dimensional god being who wants to achieve some dark goal.

Ideas for other entries?

Maybe look into the Norse God lore we got from DMC2. DMC2 and it's novels have plenty of cool stuff.

If Mundus comes back from the seal, make it centric to Nero/human world, not interested in Dante or Vergil against him again. Could be written in way for him to get SDT if stakes are high enough.

If Capcom decides to continue with Nero, there is a possibility we will get to see the other demon hunters & hybrids we got a glimpse of in the 5 novel & artbook.
Maybe have one of them playable if Capcom wants to push the multiplayer aspect further from 5, as Nero would need someone to pair up with.

@BlackDarkness679 a remixed version of all the games, progressing through Xenoverse style would be cool, the warped history & interference of canonical events.

Although knowing Capcom, if they go about it like with Resident Evil, a remake of DMC1 and DMC2 would be much more likely, there was rumors for former, but nothing concrete

And honestly those two in modern graphics and improving them more would be neat, DMC2 especially would be getting a much better treatment then it originally did over 20 years ago

There's should be one hybrid, 2007 Brad married with Elena, they should be a parents now, although their child might be to young

I mean that applies to our universe and variants of said universe.

As the DMC multiverse is infinite the possibility of angels existing in other universes isn't far fetched.

Now, personally I don't mind a multiverse story line ONLY if it is well done. Like the alternative timeline subplot in Volume 2, it isn't forced or something they wanted to do, it was a demon trying to get rid of them that way and it failed because Dante and Beryl eventually made it back after dealing with the big bad of that universe.

It feels like something that could actually happen when dealing with the supernatural and unlike the Bayo stuff it wouldn't invalidate previous games because it is still OUR Dante doing the stuff.

I said it before but I actually want both Volume 1 and 2 to be adapted into games. Volume 1 has one of the best stories in the series overall and Volume 2 is just peak stylish stuff with a less intricate story.

Volume 1 even opens up the possibility of a pseudo open world with all the locations, all the people and the things Tony has to do and how the world around him changes, especially after his transition into Dante.

The whole "Denvers plans and executes a hit on Tony" would be an awesome introductory scene with the player taking control of Tony as he deals with the mercenaries as a sort of tutorial. It would be a one and done since Volume 1 diverges a lot from the usual DMC stories that take place in relatively short periods of time while Vol1 takes place over several months.

Something that could be interesting with the multiverse thing is alternate selves. Vergil meeting another of himself who made all the worst choices, perhaps. They could go pretty dark with that.

*Vergil that kills Dante in mission 7 of DMC3

* Vergil that kills Dante at the end of DMC3

* Vergil that kills Mundus and takes his throne

* Vergil that got the power of Sparda

* Vergil that kills Nero

* Urizen that kills Dante/Nero

* Urizen that kills Dante after the fruit

* Vergil takes control of Fortuna

what else could be a bad a worse choice than the ones made?

Yeah like... I see soo much potential in the novels as a standalone games. Unfortunately, MFs at Capcom just DON'T care.
