Honkai: Star Rail Discussion Thread

I mean you can apply that logic to every Chrysos Heir that wasn't Phainon in the first half of Amphoreus if you're talking about this in regards to what you said, but dismissing their relevance to Amphoreus just because they weren't doing some absurdly crazy things involving Irontomb or the Eternal Recurrence throughout the story when they literally couldn't is kind of downplaying their characters.

What makes characters like Aglaea, Tribbie, Mydei, Anaxa, Castorice, Hyacine and Cipher relevant to Amphoreus isn't their involvement in the big "end of the world" storyline looming over their setting, but their personal stories that characterizes them and how it shapes their actions on the Flame-Chase Journey. I'd argue this applies to characters like Phainon, Cyrene, Cerydra and Hysilens too. What shapes them as "characters" and how it's presented throughout the story is far more important to the story of Amphoreus (and the audience) than their contribution to a large plotline that can be changed to suit contrived reasons (e.g. Bias towards certain characters to boost sales).
I mean i did mention them in that one comment the only characters that like did anything were pienon c*rene anaxa and hysilens : P

Just yap bro, my dog sized brain can take it (trust)
Basically the verse had already established that different worlds (parallel timelimes) existed through quantum branching (we see these all the time ingame in both hsr and hi3) but herta’s entire anaology kills that by saying nous is forcing quantum collapses (nuking timelines into 1 timeline) but this contradicts like everything in both hi3 and also hsr

So...when's the below-average intelligence downgrade?

So its either nous is a fraud or mwi doesnt (2-C cosmos) exist and theres more proof of the former

Pretty peak how theres a whole manga (second key) about MWI in Honkai then Herta says nah actually
Can Su please hijack Nous' job of being the prediction guy

I don't think you need to be SUPER relevant in the grander plot to still be "relevant'. Relavant could mean different terms, you know. Some are relevant for worldbuilding and character-driven stories, instead of helping move the main plot. I personally find Mydei, Agylea, and Cipher to be super relevant in terms of emotional and character storytelling, even if they don't exactly matter in the Irontomb segment. I would much rather erase Cy*ene from existence than them, even if she is more "relevant" cuz I could give less than a dodo for her actual writing.

I think the only exemption would be if said character actually ends up dragging the story (Ahem Ahem Evernight Ahem). Seriously tho, Evernight should have been saved for a future arc. I don't think she was particularly useful in anything, really, aside from the trio reunion, which was cool and all, but March's inclusion was wayyy too late, and it kinda felt like the writers just forced her back in after realizing they forgot about her, which also made Evernight's inclusion awkward. I think she and Tribbie (also Hysillens to a lesser degree) are the only characters whose personal stories were either badly executed or just weren't really needed. Their arcs just don't really feel that meaningful compared to Mydei, Agy, and Cipher.

All of this applies to every character you just mentioned. 3.0-3.3 (except for the end) is insanely dragged out and thats my main issue with it, 8 hour long story each patch just for it all to mean.. nothing? Like ifnit was a continuance like rappa’s story or wardance i wouldnt mind but this is the main story thats supposed to be building up to the main part when it had little to nothing to do with the main part and thats my issue with it

Never tell evernight to fight an actual emanator

Yeah, I get that. I think Planarcadia is doing better by pacing more smoothly.

Seriously, love her design, but do we really need the entirety of 3.6 lol. It felt like the main plot just stopped to accommodate her ahhh.

aint even his fault gang, they literally wrote all this cof glazing and decided to drop most random scan saying CoF=Barrier lvl
