Because it's fun to argue Witch Hunters.

Rules​

  1. Both sides are High 8-C, and the Witch Hunters gain max stats they can have for being High 8-C(Class M LS and Supersonic with MHS reactions)
  2. The Witch Hunters are comparable to Kratos and Deimos in skill(Read the top of Intelligence if you need to know why I can do this)
  3. Battle starts in an Imperial Tavern in an isolated city within the Empire on opposite sides of the Tavern.
  4. Kratos and Deimos have had the knowledge they've been targeted by a "Witch Hunter" for an hour, and the Witch Hunters know about the basics of GoW magic from witness accounts, with the exaggerations therin.
  5. There are two Witch Hunters.

Hunters have massive LS advantage, pretty sure the spartan cadets have more than twice the AP advantage. How do the abilities of both work?
 
Kratos and Deimos have far higher raw power than the Witch Hunters, by more than two times, meaning hey can do some pretty hefty damage if their attacks land. They also have better reach with the spears in melee and shields to block damage, with higher range for their Gifts of Olympus.

That said, they have far lower lifting strength than the Hunters so being pinned down is a real issue for them. The Witch Hunters are also taller and can mitigate the spear's range advantage to some extent and resist almost everything Kratos and Deimos have except maybe Petrification.

The main advantage of the demigods seems to be their Accelerated Development letting them become stronger and faster over time but since the Witch Hunters are initially faster before speed equalization, they can't win via the speed aspect. They also have a chance to reflect melee damage back at the Witch Hunters, which is boosted by their Lucky Ambers.

The Witch Hunters have Damage Reduction, which will help them against the superior AP.
The Wissenland Bell Flower is noted as Pain Manipulation, but since it causes them to "hear a deafening, agonising ringing", Masked will assume that the brothers' ability to resist the Sirens means it will be ineffective against them.
Masked will once again assume that the Olpe of Wellness can cure the poisons used in this match.

Kratos and Deimos generally let out a war cry before invoking whatever magic they're about to cast.
It's channeled through their items and weaponry, which they swing in order to direct some spells.

Unfortunately, the Witch Hunters are experienced in negating such magic, and can easily nullify it with a prayer or dispel.
Witch Hunter abilities are also generally from equipment, with the exception of prayers and dispels.

Masked agrees with this, but they will note that the Witch Hunters can negate Supernatural Luck, as listed in the Battle magic section of the Aethyr page.
 
I should note that Witch Hunters have higher reactions than their combat speed here, so they can be reactive instead of proactive in regards to the majority of the fight.

Wait, they're Supersonic in combat and only MHS in reactions? I thought it was equalized. If not then that changes a few things.

Only combat speed is equalized, reactions definitely aren't unless they're lumped in with Combat speed... which they aren't for a High 8-C Witch Hunter. Because full MHS starts at 8-A with Victor Saltzpyre. So there's advantages and disadvantages here, mainly with the brothers' more ***** things being entirely negated because like I said, they can be reactive instead of proactive.
 
It's so weird arguing for Witch Hunters cause their profile covers basically anything they can do and there's no set personality or tactics for them beyond "Close Quarters cause flintlocks are inaccurate, don't use brute force cause almost everything has a physical advantage on you, **** over any and all magic."
