uh did Firefly even fight Argenti? It makes no sense for her to transform into SAM in a reality show. Argenti even comments about how he was mistaken for SAM. He would have commented about Firefly being SAM if she transformed, but he did not. Either Firefly did not fight, or she fought only in her base (outside SAM)

You’re right that the core and body are practically the same but if you look at what the forces contributed to, they didn’t really hinder the Chrysos Heirs own fight to affect the scaling against them.
Like the scaling would probably be affected if there were a literal army actually jumping the core of Irontomb but instead they just shot at the stationary target that wasn’t really doing much so it was pretty much just Chrysos Heirs Vs Irontomb mostly rather than a literal army swarm.
I don't know why that would hinder Irontomb's capabilities of fighting or multi task both at the same time. Like the start of Phase 2 he uses his entire arsenal, the same ones from Phase 3 barring like 1 attack so it shouldn't be half assing the fight.
Also to explain the whole 1 vs 4 fights. Heres a really good clip to explain what happens if a group of people who don't scale to at least the same ap tier as the guy theyre jumping try to jump that person.

But Phainon is killing them 1-by-1, Irontomb is js attacking all of them simultaneously.
Also unlike Phainon, Irontomb didnt get jobbed by the only Emanator there lol. The difference is night and day.

Tbf it looks like Khaslana's power varies a lot depending on how many coreflames he's igniting since he goes from getting his arm cut off easily by Zephyro to pushing him around and matching him for a bit (when his hair turned on fire) before he decided to just use everything to charge at Nanook. But with the base 12 coreflames yeah I think he's either a low emanator level character or just really high pathstrider level.

Also on an unrelated note, I think the rating pistol's targeting is able to differentiate between souls since Evernight is technically a separate entity that resides within March's body yet the rating pistol gave her a value of 37 instead of invalid so it probably means that Evernight herself as an individual isn't an emanator/adjacent or greater being (her powers are tho since she's using March's body as a Pure Child of Anasrava). I think this applies to Ashveil too since the Shadow he carries seems to be treated as a separate entity and his rating is 87 despite the Shadow being capable of devouring emanators (it's not rated because of the seal holding it back maybe?). The only issue I have with this is the Arbiter Generals and their Lan spirits but maybe you could make an argument that they aren't really individuals and are just counted as a part of the generals themselves as a power of theirs, and the characters with memosprites that are actual sentient beings (little Ica invalid rating real).

I love how its like a massive plot point to the story for Khaslana to scratch Nanook with an ingame canon explanation on how he managed to do it in the first place with several characters praising a mortal for facing an Aeon ontop of Khaslana literally being the only reason for us to have world cleansing blood in the first place.

Thing is Phainon scratching Nanook, while it’s damage on the level of Saitama getting scratched by a cat. It is narratively significant and treated as a feat that Shaoji would not stop reminding us that Phainon really did it for real. Traveler vs Asmoday is like if Amphoreus is 6 years long instead of 1 year long, and then the entire 6 years of Khaslana collecting the 400 million coreflames to defeat Nanook which was hyped to hell and back, instead he lost to literal Voidrangers (that's how Genshin is rn)

It shows, in the greater plot of the game, that Nanook IS fallible. Remember when everyone reacted to Kafka saying we're gonna beat Nanook like 'what' - This is the 'OH IT'S POSSIBLE' moment.
As we move forwards stuff like Aha's 1M ascension will get us closer and closer to the overarching end point of beating Nanook.
