Devil May Cry Discussion Thread

Don't be too sad or else we'll get a "somehow Sparda has returned" and you'd wish he'd stayed dead.
Hmmm, but he still doesn’t need to stay dead. He could exist without getting involved in his sons’ or grandson’s issues, the only thing we really need is more information about him. The dude is way too powerful to be dead. The way his death was described “died under mysterious circumstances” feels too unlikely(idk if there is other information that is clear on Sparda's death though). But if he came back, I’d be happy asf 😌. When Vergil came back in DMC 5, he was still good though(with motivation).

Nah because his death is the engine behind the plot of DMC.

If he was alive somehow then his legend doesn't look as good since the all powerful Sparda left his family to be massacred by demons and his sons to suffer persecution and possible death while he was scratching his balls somewhere

Turning him into Jake Sparta, he'll be drinking them green milkshakes

Leon casually parrying Judgement Cut

"Judgement cut, huh? Should've judged before that cut"

Of course, I expect nothing less from PoC.
Endless wank, PS2 era graphics, AI voice acting.
Adi Shankar has a high bar to hurdle over, need him to top his traced E&I scene.
No way you complain about a mobile game graphics when you damn well know they cant run the same as PC or console

Graphics aren't really the top priority for me. Some modern game with top graphics but poor gameplay and story with unlikable self-insert characters and predatory micro transactions? I'll take classic PS2 games over that every time.

Limitless Power Vergil, seemingly doesn't go through Mundus, as it seems he gets his armour through casting aside his humanity. The transformation is called Dark Knight in the skill section, with no mention of Nelo Angelo.

Though this is an isolated screenshot, I don't know any of the story and other lore, he still could go through his Mundus arc.

Interesting

but the "final fight with Dante" could be the end of 5 too

if it is post DMC3 Vergil it would make sense with his moveset being similar to DMC4 and 3 but the Nelo Angelo form is legit just Nelo Angelo too

Limitless Power Vergil chapter 1 (still editing)

To note, the cutscenes don't use LP Vergil's model, but Endless Judgement, which I assume is due to budget/time.
There is a summary in the post below.

So Limitless Power Vergil has gone through the events of DMC3, after his fight against Dante at the Temen-ni-gru, he goes to a new realm, The Greyworld, stated to be drifting between the Human world and Demon realm. This realm harbors demons, has a star/moon, and is explained as being vast and desolate.

LP Vergil was guided to The Greyworld by a relic, probably The Broken Gear.

In The Greyworld, LP Vergil meets, The Hermit, a tall slim looking Demon, who has lived for at least centuries.

The Hermit explains that Demon come to The Greyworld to seek Power, as he alluded Vergil dping the same, he says that they slaughter each other endlessly there, to get a chance to face the Watcher's trial, where the Watcher decides if you ascend or get erased.

The Hermit continues commentary on LP Vergil, pointing out he has a complex aura, his half human/Demon heritage, Sparda, Yamato/dimension stuff, things we already know.
The chapter then ends with Vergil killing Minotaur & Fire Minotaur, where The Hermit states to LP Vergil that he can now face The Watcher.

Yes, this is a place that exists within the gap between both worlds. Right besides the dimensional wall alongside Mirror World.

Kinda reminds me of valley of screams from Bleach lel.
Cool, good to see some cosmology additions, especially this early in LP Vergil's campaign.

Originally (like 10 mins ago) I thought this was about the gap between worlds but its about a realm inside the gap between worlds.

Quite interesting and if the size is confirmed we could cook something with the gap between worlds.

Ashen Coronation/LP Vergil chapter 2

The story continues with Vergil & The Hermit discussing about the Trial. The Hermit tells Vergil that the Blue figure/Dark Knight thingy before them is the Executioner & Guardian of the Trial. Which happens to look identical to LP Vergil's Dark Knight DT form.
The Hermit reiterates to Vergil that if he beats the trails he will gain power, however if he fails, & will be unmade lol

Vergil accepts, in which The Hermit tells Vergil to draw the large greatsword embed into the ground. Identical to the greatsword LP Vergil's Dark Knight DT form uses. The Hermit says it will give him power of the Absolute. Absolute judgement cut being an ability LP Vergil can perform.

Nice scenery

After Vergil cuts through waves of low level demons, The Hermit appears at the end, with a DMC5 era Dante, The Hermit states that Dante has appeared because he is an obessesion in Vergil's soul.

Vergil then beats Dante, The Hermit edges Vergil on his new felt 'Power', then tells Vergil to forsake his past, cast aside his name, hesitation, abandon his emotions, & renounce his bloodline & let his vessel hold The Hermit's might, in which The Hermit & Vergil will become one. The summary description states that Vergil & The Hermit's soul will fuse.

Ultimately Vergil isn't interested and walks off, the opposite way from The Hermit, saying he doesn't need for the power.
Suddenly The Hermit puts an energy field around Vergil, preventing him from leaving, then The Hermit appears to combine into the Guardian of the Trial/Dark Knight. Chapter 2 ends.

At this moment of time, I believe the Ashen Coronation story could be a flashback, as LP Vergil already has the Dark Knight greatsword/form. Which is why I had asterisks in the previous post, not that it matter much. But we will see with the last chapter. Good to see names playing a role again in DMC.

So what actual power or hax that Vergil will obtain ?
He is a Dark element character, which gives all his attacks Dark, corruption to enemies and ignores defense. Though Yamato already has the Dark element in the main universe.
