Don't know too much about FF, but I think it'd be cool still. Doom Shadow vs Sephiroth would go hard just for the imagery.

I'm a big DB fan, but man I would find it funny if, after all this time of saying Game Sonic vs DB is a mismatch, they say something like "even characters from Dragon Ball Super would be outclassed by the Super Forms".

As of Sonic Generations, I'd say they are comparable with Sonic having a more definitive edge. At least in Shadow's fight, they needed to get Energy Cores to actually have a solid way of doing damage to each other.

The way i see it:
Sonic is slightly faster
Shadow more abilities, or at least, spams his more
Silver better mobility since... flying oh and also teleportation... for some reason?

I always thought that Sonic was the more physically-dominant fighter compared to the two; reliant on his AD and less-then-notorious abilities like shockwaves and sonic wind to fight the enemy, I guess a blend between Shadow and Silver in since wind is apparently reliant on LS + AP. While Shadow is more reserved towards his abilities/haxes esp if its on some emerald shenanigans. Meanwhile, Silver is just the mobile one and testicular torsion.

Yeah. It's really about circumstance. Though, I'll be honest, I can see why people think Shadow is hard to balance compared to other people. Has Sonic's speed and most of his abilities, natural Chaos Powers, is even with the main character by lore, and has limiters he can take off to get a power boost in a pinch.

I always had a headcanon of Sonic being more acrobatic, Shadow being more athletic, and Silver being more balanced with all of them having abilities that make them even out if you wanna look at their deeper kit.

Tbf, at Super Neo Metal Sonic's theoretical peak, the difference isn't too massive. Just big.
That and IDW Master Overlord and Shadow Generations Metal Overlord put the Overlord forms into Aura Debt.
