IDW is just weirdly tame about showing off abilities.
Metal Sonic is a great example of this because he has plenty in his usual arsenal that the games show off, but he basically just flies, punches, kicks, and occasionally uses Black Shield in IDW.
We saw V. Maximum Overdrive Attack once to destroy a ship and maybe Ring Spark Field once to knock back Shadow.

I mean does he actually still have copies of anyone's power he did have all his weapons removed early in the series for all we know some still haven't been replaced.

The bio-data he had was corrupted so probably not. But that aside, he should still have his usual kit which he spams every boss fight.
Also, he definetly has his weapons back. Tails removed them but Eggman would have put them back asap. And we saw him use Black Shield, Ring Spark Field, and V. Maximum Overdrive used after that. Just very rarely.

Nah I'd just accept that Eggman is secretly immortal and mostly tolerate his existence by the end of the classic games. I mean do ya'll remember that time Sonic threw that rock directly at Eggman so hard it caused his escape vehicle to explode at the end of Sonic CD and that Eggman straight up tanked it?

Both equally true.
I feel if you use the highest wank for Cell, he could be in the same TIER as Metal. But Metal outscales by several times deep into 2-C far more than the best statements for Cell does. Cell, at max (heh), is Universal+. Maybe Low Multi if you wanna wank him to the entire macrocosm. But Metal's been there and beyond that for a while now.

I think "redeeming" Eggman in a way that would be ideal for the series on a meta level would be having him fulfill his Eggmanland dreams like a shady businessman in ways that are greedy, capitalistic, and opportunistic. Ways that aren't just specifically intended to be human rights violations

I do also agree with this btw. Sonic's never been preachy about Eggman changing before. Hell, Eggman should definitely be dead by now LMAO. The amount of times Sonic's left him in the void or in a dangerous situation that Eggman should NOT come back from is so funny.
