Kagurabachi General Discussion Thread

That's completely different than what Viz put down, they made it seem like it's something that can't be measured even, regardless, this is a very good hax upscale for Akemura

If it matters, infinitesimally isn't really in Japanese, idk where they got that from likely just put it for cool factor if I had to guess. The Japanese just says

一瞬と呼ぶにも
短すぎるほどの
僅かな時間に
起こる

僅かな時間 which just means a really tiny/short time. So I wouldn't suggest high end timeframes be used. This is more just really good spatial hax that's hard to dodge without sensing the air movements or stuff like that.
I also asked a TL helper to look at the raws

Is there any plans on calcing Owl's feat of effecting the weather and ceasing snowfall for days

Not a feat since it didn't directly manipulate the weather. It was just a big umbrella which, by blocking sunlight, cooled the climate. There's nothing to calc.

if i remember correctly in japonese still says that it happened in a moment to brief to call it an Instant

Crazy chapter but I'm curious
  • Do we assume that Dragonfly is MFTL+ or Infinite speed? It's said that the timeframe is infinitesimally close to 0, which would result in MFTL+, but then it's stated to be faster than instantaneos, which would result in Infinite speed
  • Do we assume dragonfly ignores durability? I believe it can't since Chihiro and Samura can somehow survive it, and when it hits a building its as if it was just a strong impact (since the building gets fragmented instead of erased)
We assume neither and scale him above MHS+

The thing is Impossible to index under our current standards
HIgher than any MFTL+ rating but lower than Infinite

Yes, it does still say that

Anyway, expect a Kagurabachi CRT in under 24 Hours

I got a more exact tl and the only real difference is that infinitesimally isn't present but they do still at its core still say it happens in span of time too short to even be called an instant
Narrator: 刀の振りから
斬撃が空を走るまでの

Narrator: 一瞬と呼ぶにも短すぎるほどの僅かな時間に起こる

First off it unfortunately does not say this. To give you an example. It would need actual mathematical terms (or something that conveys the same meaning in this context) used which it does not...

Here's an example. Specifically the kanji.
There's more.
To provide another example, which I'll do it from JJK which KGB author seems to read and like: Yuta says Gojo's CE efficiency is infinitesimally close to zero.

That's another one.
Like there is none of that here.
Secondly Viz needs to be castrated. Cuz idk how they got space there. It only says air. I'll get to this bit after explaining to you what it actually says about the other stuff.

No 無限 (infinite). An example of how this can be used in a sentence:
無限に小さい — “infinitely small”
Kanji breakdown:
無 — without, nothing, not
限 — limit, boundary
無限 — limitless, infinite
に — adverbial particle (“in an infinite manner”)
小 — small
小さい — small (adjectival form)
Meaning: Small without limit -> infinitely small

no 極限 (limit) [Granted this one alone isn't enough but you can use additional words to use a meaning that is the same as saying infinitesimally. Same goes for any of these kanjis I posted really]
Here's an example of how it can be used:
極限的に小さい — “limit-level small”
Kanji breakdown:
極 — extreme, utmost
限 — limit
極限 — limit (as in mathematical limit. Check it with Jisho)
的 — “-like / pertaining to”
に — adverbial particle
小さい — small
Meaning: Small in a limit-approaching sense
This too can be used to mean what you said earlier about infinitesimally.

Continuing on:
ほどの (https://jisho.org/word/程)
This is important.
ほど means:
-to the extent that
-so … that
-to such a degree
Nothing quantified. It merely just intensifies a description.
So: "So short that..."

Final part:
僅かな時間
Here is the core kanji: 僅か
Jisho meanings:
a little; a few; small; slight; trifling; meagre; meager; narrow (margin)
This word, as an example, is used for:
僅かな差 — a small difference
僅かな金額 — a small amount of money
僅かな時間 — a short time
Very different from infinitesimally and cannot be used for the latter either.

時間
time
span of time
Together: “a very small amount of time”
Still non-numerical.
So far the narrator has been layering emphasis.
What the sentence is doing linguistically, is essentially just saying: “The interval is so brief that normal words like ‘instant’ feel inadequate.” pretty much.
It's most likely poetic insufficiency of language if you understand what I mean.
Add in more of the summary I did below, in regards to the kanji breakdown part only for this summary. Don't change what I wrote there. Like there is other missing kanjis I believe

So to summarise:
一瞬 = a blink-like moment, (instant) metaphorical-ish but not exactly, given it's combat.
短すぎる = too short (relative)
僅かな時間 = a tiny span of time
ほどの = to such an extent (intensifying a description).
と呼ぶにも = even to call it [an instant] (qualifying language)

So yeah it does still have potential for s being pretty damn fast but the exact wording isn't the same even though the message conveyed is that it occurs within a timeframe quicker than what can be considered 1 instance of time

I mean that's too vague for a specific time frame anyways. At best in a vacuum it's a 1 second time frame since that's what we default instant to (and we cant meaningfully get a lower number even if it's suppose to be less than an instant), but obviously that's not gonna work.

Yeah I just say if you guys add it, should just be "likely higher" cuz it really just seems like a mechanical thing than full speed

Im not even arguing for a MFTL+ end but no actually the actual kanji and wording isn't vague at all in the japanese and 1 second wouldn't even make sense in context either considering how Hokazono portrays theirs speed even narratively.

Its pretty exact in wording that this isn't meant to be vague at all as it's eaborating on itself, saying the timeframe because yadda yadda is so close to 0, effectively even saying it's "instant" is downplaying

I'm going to put ya'll in a blender if you don't ******* listen to Dale
(and by proxy me, im the mf who said it).
(this is a joke do not ban)
(i'll do it tho)

Hmm, surprised we don't have more profiles up. Is there any planning to get profiles in order from any of the arcs bar the current one?

Yeah me and @Shey have basically all the relevanr profiles, calcs, and a verse specific energy system page ready and will be doing CRTs as of like either tomorrow or the day after. That includes all the current arc stuff

How come it seems like the manga's coming close to an end? Is there some other hidden blades or Soga's the best one so far?

This end is more reasonable

Nanosecond end

  • Speed: 0.219/0.000000001 = 219,000,000 m/s or 0.731c (Relativistic+)
Most people when they think instantaneous or super fast, the lowest amount of time people normally think about is a nanosecond
Well they're wrong.
Most people don't think nanosecond either anyway.

not sure how you're getting that perception when everything is just now opening up? There's at least another good 150~200 chapters left at worst soooo 🤷‍♂️
Isn't Akemura the guy who ended the last war? I don't read the manga so I could not know about other enchanted blade holders but where else will it go if Chihiro loses?

I don't read the manga
ah I see then that's understandable
2 blades and users left
Most of Hishaku members are still out there
Conext about Chihiro mother
Itsuo Shirakai (naoya's grandpa)
outside of even this though there's an entire major plot point about the government not being able strong enough to actually rein in and have authority over prominent sorcerer clans and criminals who have been operating for a long time now and since the war have done so in public at the expense of people, this led to a decent portion of the main government force having turncoats and was a driving motivation for them and the main villain group and a mission Akemura has basically said he'd uphold for them so its definitely even outside of the things above still overarching plot of certain societal shit that needs to be solved along the way

A part of me is thinking the series might either go the route of Tobimune fixing Enten before his ultimate death as a final send off or more interestingly, Chihiro being forced to forge his own Enchanted Blade/reforge Enten. I'm personally hoping for the latter because I think it more interesting and might even add some more interesting conversation to this whole WOMD and disarment analogy the series feels like its pushing for.

Yeah, plus Chihiro is the only person alive who actually knows how to make Enchanted Blades

pretty sure they are going the latter route especially since like a few months ago hokazona made it a point to tell us that even though the hilt~handle portion of kuregumo broke that the blade portion still remained so likely chihiro will reforge enten but combined with the other blade half of cloud gouger that remains

I hope Kagurabachi does not end up having the problem of forgetting about countries outside Japan. Having Akemura moving around with a Nuclear Bomb™️ should 100% make other countries intervene to some extent. Hell, Akemura's ideology migh end up making him attack different countries
That's interesting; I can't think of any manga/anime where they address that, at least of the top of my head

Hmm, surprised we don't have more profiles up. Is there any planning to get profiles in order from any of the arcs bar the current one?
Like Dale already said we have been working on them already and they're pretty much ready even with a completed Power System Page

I have like 80/90% completed Sandboxes for:
Seiichi Samura
Hiyuki Kagari
Kyoura Sazanami
Yura
Hiruhiko
Iori Samura
Hokuto
Soshiro Azami
Yoji Uruha
Sword Saint Akemura Soga
Natsuki Misaka

@Bimbitesthedust offered to create the other Sazanami which are:
Hakuri
The Tou (Tenri/Soya/Enjin/Tamaki)

The only profile we don't really have in store which we should have is Shiba which is weird and funny and memes have made me decide he's a fraud.

For anyone interested
Profiles open for creation are
Shiba
Yukisada
Bingo
Uran
Treeshaku
Kiri Shirakai
Useless Commander Ikuto Hagiwara

Edit: Oh and Sojo needs a revamp 💀. Forgot to do Sojo while revamping Chihiro but y'all got this right 😀

Part 1 is out

Looking at it now, is there not a calc for the 9 second exchange that Chihrio and Sojo have in their final duel? Figured we might get some good results from that
