9-B Creature Tournament Round 1 Match 5 - Veggie Slime vs. Tyrannosaurus rex (7-2-0) (GRACE)

Veggie Slime has the slight strength advantage here, and if the Tyrannosaurus tries to incapacitate it between its teeth under its foot with the lifting strength advantage, the Veggie Slime can actually just teleport out of its grip by shrinking. The Tyrannosaurus is only capable of close-ranged attacks, but the Veggie Slime is capable of both close-ranged and long-ranged attacks, the latter of which being because it has bullets of danmaku to fire from a distance. On top of that, if the Veggie Slime's physical attacks land, there's a 10% chance that the Tyrannosaurus will either be poisoned or turned into a slime that can't attack until the effect is up, which would give the Veggie Slime more free hits to land.

In short, this Rex won't be able to eat its veggies tonight. Voting the Veggie Slime.

Doesn't neccesarily mean our Rex won't land hits though.

Eventually the slime will get close, it isn't really smart enough to just stay at a distance and chip its opponent to death. I don't think they show any similar behavior to this in the game either.

If it turns the rex into a slime for a few seconds, it isn't an instant win. It still has to kill/incapacitate a running slime.

Rex can stomp on it, bite it with insane force, use its tail, etc...even if the slime teleports, the rex can still damage/hurt it, even if it teleports out of its jaws or from under it's foot. Rex's higher IQ might help somehow. It either repeats until the slime is incapacitated or the slime kills it via poison, which only has a 10% chance of happening.

Voting Rex, though by a very slim margin.

I never said that it can rangespam, as its style is mostly through 2 methods of jump attacking in most of the games it's been in. However, some variants do in fact lead with bullets, and considering how this is a composite Slime... yeah. Even if this is going to turn into a full-on close ranged battle, the T-Rex won't be smart enough to keep its distance either, which is terrible as the Slime has a slight AP advantage.

The issue is that the T-Rex cannot attack while it is turned into a slime, and on top of this, it also takes twice the amount of damage while turned into a slime which will make it go down faster.

There's still the issue that the T-Rex is slightly weaker than the Slime, not to mention how it has fewer abilities to work with. If anything, the Slime having a smaller size actually gives it an advantage because it would make it harder for the T-Rex to actually hit it with its attacks, and Slimes have been competent enough know how to dodge arrows in the past. Comparing their physical attacks, the T-Rex has nothing to inflict with its attacks (Apart from pinning the Slime down which it can either dodge or teleport away from its grip) while the Slime has more attacks to dish out and is slightly stronger. Even if its status chance is low, it's better than nothing as both of them are nearly even in AP and the battle would last long anyway for Slime to land at most 10 hits for a guaranteed chance of one of its two statuses landing.

But the thing is that I severely doubt that the slime would be unharmed from being pinned. As I said, even if it teleports away from being under the door of a T Rex, It still had 4-9 Tons crushing it. Same way that if the Rex gets it's jaws on it, even if the slime teleports out of it's mouth, it still was being utterly crushed by 431,000 PSI. Even if it dodges the first attempts eventually the Rex would land a hit.

A slight AP advantage wouldn't matter as much as the LS being 4-5x stronger. The Rex being turned into a slime would definitely help the Veggie slime, yes, but once again it isn't a guarantee that it happens in time, and it also isn't a guarantee that the slime will be able to kill the Rex before it turns back into a Rex.

On the part of the Rex having trouble landing a hit due to it being small, it was able to kill prey such as Struthiomimus, who could run anywhere from 31-50 MPH and were 4-5 ft tall at the hips. With speed being equalized, it would be a similar thing, except this one can fight back rather comparable to the Rex.

Poison is the quickest way I see the slime winning, but due to it being a 10% chance there isn't a guarantee that it will inflict said poison before it needs to teleport out of it's mouth or from under it's foot.

You still need AP to harm them if you want to crush someone to death with lifting strength, and in this case, the T-Rex is slightly weaker so it wouldn't do much more than physical damage slightly inferior to the Slime. And like I said, its method of incapacitation is literally countered by the Slime teleporting.

Again, its lifting strength is proven fruitless here due to how it can get countered, plus it completely lacks any abilities to inflict while Veggie Slime has some to inflict on top of a slight AP advantage. Put it this way: what would be better to have, physical attacks with nothing much added to them, or physical attacks that are slightly stronger and have a 10% chance to inflict game-changing statuses?

The Slime is only 0.62 meters in length and 0.43 meters in height, so that's smaller than what the Rex has been shown to deal with, and it's not mentioning the fact that it can shrink in size to make it harder for the Rex to hit.;

Again, that's assuming if the T-Rex is able to do that before the Slime attacks it, and there's nothing stopping the Slime from just doing its attacks over and over until one of these statuses land.
