I remember Muramasa's story being altered in CFYOW. Just as Enrakyoten is described as the Tsunayashiro clan's special zanpaktou, Muramasa is described as the Kuchiki clan's special zanpaktou. In the anime's filler arc, if I remember correctly, Koga was shown as the Kuchiki's special zanpaktou.

Zaraki can be stronger in terms of AP (plausible) and still lose to Aizen easily, so even if we accept the headcanon that this statement meant Zaraki would lose AND we accept this statement as powerscaling instead of being a comment on how boring it could be to write (AKA a matter of being a fun fight to create), it doesn't mean Zaraki suddenly has less AP (which is what you originally implied)
He's saying that instead of a standard medical operation, you need to properly and accurately picture what you're healing when you perform Kaido so that it actually works. If this is subjective reality, it has to be one of the worst examples I've ever seen.

It's common sense buddy in the soul society arc kenpachi was no match for aizen. Arrancar Arc kenpachi is no match for aizen. TYBW zaraki is no match for tybw aizen. All these fights would be completely one sided so it would be boring. What else would he mean by boring?
Dued it's "healing based on imagination " in order to heal something properly you must be able to fully understand the body part your healing. For example let's say someone is missing a lung you have to be able to comprehend a lung and all it's functions then you can bring it to reality. Aka subjective reality warping. No need for the mental hurdles.
