I think the universe dying (confirmed in the little witch and undying fire and also in durin weapon) is the result of Surtalogi Calamity. Vedrfolnir applied this to Surtalogi "Calamity unfolds across the universe" and octavia confirmed the universe is dying "The whole Cosmos is going to die soon"
