Star Wars Discussion Thread Canon/Legends- Episode VI Return of the Threadi

Yeah, I've spoken about the issues with using the calc before for Ezra & Kanan. TLDR: The feat that gave the ship's 8-A [102 Tons] rating caused way more damage than they did combined with multiple asteroids. Even if the feat was fine since two people did it, it'd be 8-B+ for Kanan & Ezra. But since they did way less damage it hard to quantify over 8-B. I'm wondering if anyone has the Grand Inquistor statement comparing him to Ventress

But that's not the point of the calculation. The ship's 8-A durability comes from something different; we're not calculating Erza and Kanan's feat, that calculation doesn't even exist on the verse page. We were only scaling it up based on their ability to damage a ship with 8-A durability.

Is the ship's durability not upscaling from this?

I thought you were talking about using the calculation based on Kanan and Erza's feat. I got confused.
I know which calc you're talking about but, I went to the ships page and found the calc it linked to. The calc is perfectly fine overall for the ship durability. The issue is that the attack that gives ship durability left it pretty damaged but intact. Kanan and Ezra did not inflict anywhere near that level of damage. I think getting an 8-A from the ship damage only works if they actually left major damage. In the imgur scan I looked at they left very little lasting damage. Sorry if I explained that confusingly.

Might be able scale the Grand Inquisitor to 8-A off the Ice Cliff Feat. Because he did stomp Barriss. Not sure how to handle the Ventress thing though, because she lost to an Inquisitor, but we also have the statement putting her over him. Not sure if she has any canonical power drop statements. Not sure if context from the SW Tales changes anything?

Shouldn't he be same tier as Vader?

I'm not sure? This canonically pretty close to RoTS, and yet Vader still quickly overwhelmed him in combat. Though I should note depending on how we take Tales of the Underworld, the Ventress scaling might be outdated if we don't consider her as grown weaker. We might be able to use the use the Grand Inquisitor to get a 8-B+ for Kanan at least. He managed to press the Grand Inquisitor more than Barriss did.

Go on, defend him or try so lmfao
This is why I reccomend reading the Rise of the Sith and Clone Wars Epic Collection paperbacks, the comics humanize Ki-Adi-Mundi as someone who is honestly just trying their best at being a jedi and father whilst in a turbulent time period of change. Even when he told Anakin about how the he loss his family during the Clone Wars and how he got over it, it was in the context of trying to comfort Anakin over the loss of master (before Obi-Wan came back).

i think there is prob avenues to get him to tier 7.

those are pretty conflicting stuff, id argue then just to use the most recent scans then as they take precedence. the storygroup members including people Pablo hildago have mention stuff like the visual dictionaries being "soft canon" in the sense that they take precedent in the context of omissions of information but are subject to change and inferior to those found directly in the media.

a lot of windu's scans also originated from the Legends 2010's book which were beholden to luxas's comments of Windu>palpatine, which canon doesnt have too.

that being said if the WIndu> palps stuff is more consistent, has more statements, including much newer ones then its fine.

Well, I don't know, I haven't gone into it very deeply.

I generally only collect scans of Anakin/Vader.

But the Fanhome Encyclopedia, which mentions this thing about Palpatine toying with Mace Windu, was released in 2020.

I mean, this specific book, the releases of this encyclopedia were from 2020-2022.

bro got fried three times, i think his lowkey just a *********. or gets off on spunging his lightning everywhere and struggles to "pull back" as they say.
Canon can and always has shifted but I feel like these statements paint a comprehensively less reasonable picture than what the scene shows

actually theres a statement that puts anakin> ROTS yoda
Give me the scan so I can put it in a certain place.
From what weeks-ago-discussion between me and Carvalho told, Vader only surpassed RotS Sidious by +/- the time of Rebels/post-those-events, and another colleague of ours were out here saying it'd be unfair to put Ani against Yoda for a duel, so that'd be the line for y'all:

RotS Ani < RotS Sidious ~ RotS Yoda < RotS Ani < RotS Sidious ~ RotS Yoda [infinetely the same cycle before] < Rebels Vader
let's please avoid circular chain

this is indeed veeeeeeeery nice

i think this justifies incon between RotS Ani and Yoda, what do y'all think of making this thread?
I don't see much need for it, despite the statements; a lot of Star Wars comes from interpretation. We can just put things and statements in the profiles and let the rest be interpreted.

The second thing about Dooku's lightsaber skill is cool, but there's a difference between pure power and lightsaber skill.

The most obvious example is Luke, during the fight against Vader and the Grand Inquisitor.

I agree with "Anakin (CW) < Anakin (RotS/Pré-Sith) < Anakin (RotS/Post-Sith) < Vader (Post-Suit) < Vader (LotS) < Vader (OWK) < Vader (Rebels) < Vader (ANH) < Vader (ROJ)"

personally, in fact theres prob a few > even between clone wars seasons

is this why you were asking for the anakin scan? @Phsccarvalho

There are still some post-ESB scans from that comic book series of Vader being stronger than ever.

The ANH) is because there's a magazine called "Entertainment Weekly's Ultimate Guide to Rogue One" that says Vader is in his prime during Rogue One.

Unfortunately, I can't find an image or a PDF of that magazine; I only see people talking about it.

Technically, each older version of Vader is his prime, considering the continuous power increases mentioned in that statement that the power of the Sith (referring to Vader and Palpatine) increases over time (besides Vader's meditations on Mustafar).

The way I presented it only shows key moments where there's another statement about his new prime or power increase, so of course, there are more "<"

is this why you were asking for the anakin scan? @Phsccarvalho
I asked because I'm collecting scans for this sandbox. So any of our scale scans are welcome.

TBH Jinn is just someone I want to make a rework of just to give him like Genius Intelligence or something lol

Only reason I don't is because I don't want to get into scaling like where he is at.
He scales above TPM Maul but got done in by being nerfed twice and also fighting in an area that ***** his fighting style.

Actually, I did that to contextualize myself with Palpatine's statement. Him saying that RotS Anakin was almost rivaling him in power.

So I was making this "scale" between Anakin and Vader themselves.

Because it would be something like that.
Sidious (RotS) >~ Anakin (RotS/Pré-Sith) < Anakin (RotS/Post-Sith) < Vader (Post-Suit) < Vader (LotS) < Vader (OWK) < Vader (Rebels) < Vader (ANH) < Vader (ROJ)
The ">~" signifies that Sidious is stronger, but not by such a large margin, considering his own statement about Anakin in "Secrets of the Sith".
