Deltarune just got some of its characters upgraded to 4-A, so why not go ahead and do a classic old school VS new school RPG matchup?

Speed is equalized, both are 4-A (Chapter 4 Delta Warriors and EBF4 Matt & Natalie are used), and the battle takes place in Castle Town. Both sides start 10 meters and have access to all of their equipment, and the Player is restricted for Matt & Natalie.

Who wins?

I don't know Matt & Natalie, but I see they have a lot of abilities, and that scares me

So for context on what Matt and Natalie usually lead with, it's typically anything they've got on them that can help them defeat their enemies in a strategic manner. Matt specializes in physical attacks while Natalie specializes in magic attacks which would actually bypass the Delta Warriors' durability to deal heavy damage due to their lack of a Magic Defense system in their game.

Of course, the Delta Warriors are more mobile given how they're more used to dodging attacks compared to Matt and Natalie by this point in the series where they struggle to dodge attacks from those on par with them in speed, though they do have methods to boost their evade to increase their likelihood of dodging attacks.
 
The delta warriors downscale from the Titan's 4-A while Matt & Natalie's EBF4 keys are listed at least 4-A

What's the scaling chain above 4-A for them? There's a chance they just one shot

Also, as far as the scaling chain goes for Matt and Natalie, it goes like this:

End Game EBF4 Matt & Natalie > Weakened Godcat Avatar >>> Early Game EBF4 Matt & Natalie > End Game EBF3 Matt & Natalie = Full Power Akron >> Weakened Akron = 16.88 exaFOE

Matt and Natalie can definitely one-shot, but the Delta Warriors have dealt with the Roaring Knight by dodging its attacks despite how the Roaring Knight can one-shot them. Not to mention, they have certain haxes such as Ralsei's Lullaby that neither Matt nor Natalie resist, and Kris does have the method of using ACT to do actions that can make Matt and Natalie give up the fight.

They scale to 16.88 exafoe value but they are still weaker than the Titan itself who the value comes from

In the actual fight the roaring knight is holding back, they aren't actually dodging one shot attacks in it

If Matt & Natalie scale that high above the 16.88 exafoe value, I don't think the gang can even hurt them so only wincon is via hax

Both parties have Type 8 immortality via their respective games' player

  • Immortality (Type 8. Can be brought back by "The Player", who exists beyond the Epic Battle Fantasy multiverse and sees it as fiction)
The Delta Warriors might be able to win via Ralsei's Lullaby but I doubt it due to these
  • Passive Law Manipulation via Probability Manipulation (The players as just conscious beings bring chaos and uncertainty to the Devourer's system and obey no laws, even exploiting the very laws he's created)
  • Plot and Fate Manipulation (Via the player, who is canonically controlling their fates to make them succeed in their journey and defies the Devourer's control over the system through the player outside of EBF universe)
The EBF Player doesn't have a profile but I'm assuming it scales at least to, if not above, Deltarune's Player from the general vibes of what I'm reading

So nothing the delta warriors do are gonna work due to the plot & fate manipulation. The only way around Kris' Type 8 Immortality would be incap via their Class P lifting strength (LS meta for the win) from what I can tell

so I'm voting for matt and natalie ig?

It was holding back, yes, but it's attacks were still able to one-shot the other Delta Warriors who weren't the Shadow Mantle holder, so dodging still had to be involved in some way.

Well then the problem is gonna be what's Matt and Natalie's typical combat strategy
If they usually go for the kill instead of knock out they lose since they wouldn't remember Kris' type 8 immortality; but if it's opposite they might win.
Matt and Natalie have their type 8 immortality restricted means Kris has near infinite tries while they only have one

They're rather random on if they want to defeat their opponents by KO or Death.

It is not fine to restrict abilities in a versus matchup, implicitly or expressly. Matches that are arranged this way should not be added to the character profiles, as they don't involve their full potential, and are only intended for casual entertainment.
A similar thing was said for restricting Kris' type 8
So it should be the same case for the EBF player stuff

The Player is never always there for Matt and Natalie for their fights, hence why they can be restricted. I've already gotten that accepted.

it cant be guaranteed what way would matt and natalie fight without the player, (and the battle conditions would also assume kris is on their own without the player? or else its just guessing a random player is controlling them) but of course natalie would make better strategies than matt who would be just trying to hit them
are stats buffs and debuffs allowed in here? speaking of both sides, were i recall that the fun gang has some acts that changes their stats or the ones of the enemy, but in ebf 4 those abilites are more common and always available

about their strategies:

matt and natalie death manipulation can make them win, at what i see from kris profiles, at least they dont have resistance to death manipulation, and so i guess susie and ralsei neither do have

frost wraith summon cost 75 SP, even if it 450 attack power would be irrelevant if all matt and natalies attacks are the same in power (unless you mean that there can be gaps in that both are 4A) it has 40% chance on killing the enemy instantly, and it has 150% accuracy so it ALWAYS hits, but the death is what its not guaranteed

it would be guaranteed if the fun gang was weak to death and not just neutral to it (a foe can be -100% weak to death, neutral to it or having up to 200% resistance to it)

natalie with death scythe can summon randomly between turns, it has 100% chance for death status if it hits but also just 40% accuracy

matt (and i think natalie too) can use sawblade and triple sawblades that also has death status, but much lower than the others

gunslinger summon cost 35 SP, besides it high attack power its has death status, but even lower that frost wraith

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, if matt or natalie have limit breaks, they can use annihilate limit break, at max level it has 75% accuracy and 100% death status, almost guaranted to hit and guaranteed death status on them, it may even be an insta win move, also, if natalie and matt have as much food they want, they can just use chilli sauce to refill their limit breaks as much as they want, natalie can also spam genesis limit break for some high damage and revive status on her and matt, both damage and support in one move

matts profile says he has inmortality type 2 because he survived an arrow from anna in the head like nothing, it seems like a stupid argument for that but if taken in account it makes it harder for the fun gang to beat him, natalie does not have this argument tho

matt and natalie also have revive status, can be important for them

maybe syphoning status unables fungang spells that usually require skills? like susie not being able to use rude buster and her or ralsei healing

i expect the battle to start with each team analyzing the other, kris using check individually on both of them, and matt and natalie one of them using scanbot, both give similar descriptions of the opponent, thought at least kris check gives the attack stat that the enemy gives, but overall scanbot gives more detailed info of the enemy

ill discuss a bit more about the battle and about fun gang against death manipulation, if it can be a wincon for matt and natalie or not before i make a vote
