One Piece General Discussion: Elbaph

No generalised bashing please. 🙏
Is telling the truth of what certain fanbases are more willing to commit, bashing...?

Naruto fans are like the foolish annoying little kids
Maybe this might be bashing? But ultimately it's based on the truth on how most of them act on social media, same with Admiral fans... Not saying that, in my opinion, would be encouraging their evil behaviors

It's then no different in you calling a tyranny bad or foolish, people supporting that would be like the old foolish selfish old man... So idk 🤔🤷‍♂️

I believe there's a difference between bashing and then explaining/telling an observation

Well i think it’s stereotypical
nah, it's based on personal experience...

It is simply the truth I've seen within a fanbase

If there's a school with alot of bullies, it isn't stereotypical to say that the school is bad

I'm not trying to deal with this, so I'll just say it straight up

Within the context of what I'm talking about, you can know and understand that I'm not saying all naruto fans are bad or all naruto fans are:
the foolish annoying little kids
it's instead saying which fanbase most reflect what was stated... And this is based on pure truth that's available for anyone to see on the internet

So I'll always say the truth, and especially when that truth is also a bad truth, I will express it more plainly and directly.. No one would really question or saying anything if I said "cannibals are similar to animals" it's just a observable fact people don't like to hear

Me and my friend off-site were discussing Joyboy vs Naruto and I think my friend is EXTREMELY confused about verse equlization and bunch of stuff.

Basically, how it would work is like, both characters would HAVE Haki and Chakra, they wouldn't be the same thing or have access to both.

But whoever doesn't have it normally would just have civilian levels of said supernatural aspect?

There is no verse equalization with those 2 power systems as they don't function/act the same and aren't the same thing

Haki itself is a power that turns ones "Will" into a weapon and that weapon is turned into 3 utilizations... Obs Haki, Arm haki and con haki (so that comparison above makes no sense)

Most Naruto debaters that I've seen will always biasedly use Verse Equalization without understanding it for any hax-based abilities from other verses just to win the argument, especially whenever they use the name "spiritual energy" as well

Like Haki is basically (in the Naruto verse for example), if Naruto wanted to use armament Haki, he would be utilizing it by using his will to fight, or if he wanted to use obs Haki, he would utilize his power to feel/sense others and that goes into different ways... Like sensing their will of attack, Emotion or sensing their life energy

It's basically just utilizing things ("Presence", "fighting spirit" and "intimidation") that already exist in everyone to a degree that's supernatural... That's Haki. Chakra however is a literal manifested energy by combining one's "stamina" and ones "mental".. That's just a completely different power

The term "Ancient Giant" probably came about later, but Oars is definitely an Ancient Giant.
does One Piece specifically differentiate them from other giants? Or might it just mean very old giants? 🤔

🤔 I guess it's kinda new stuff?

Ancient Giants are the ones like Oars and Oars Jr.; they're much larger than other giants and have horns. Harald, Loki and Estrid aren't Ancient Giants but they are descended from Ancient Giants so they have larger size and horns in the case of the first two.

Really makes you wonder the behemoths that the Ancient Giants had to deal with because even a seemingly "normal" horse for them towers over regular giants

🤨I'm going to assume Oars and them are still apart of the giants race but just older... That is what it seems to suggest I believe

But wait... The blood is different tho 🤔idk, maybe we'll know more in the future

Because it seems like everyone in One Piece gets smaller sized/lose their size the more recent your lineage is (tho that might be a mothers thing or something, but its happening too much), so idk if that plays a role and then ancient giants could've been made through Imu/Domi Reversi perhaps?

Am I the only one that whenever you see a specific op character... Like Garp, WB, Shanks, Mihawk and more... They feel iconic and "alive" in a way?

Like whenever I see other characters like Batman, Kratos, Ben 10... They are iconic but they don't feel alive like op characters 🤔 only me? 🐵

it's just different, maybe it's world/world building or maybe it could be the way Oda emphasizes his artistic art style (which feels like a fiction exploding out into reality while still maintaining fiction) or it could perhaps be the way Oda handles interactions and character personality but yee, How Oda creates/uses characters is too good fr 💥

Could also be the manga is ongoing and evolving with you, whereas if you're not a massive comics fan reading 30 chapters a months you won't get that same cohesive growth?
Nah that doesn't have anything to do with it, I'm neither a manga or comics fan, I'm not talking about the ongoing story or plot

I'm talking about Marineford WB or even any character pre timeskip (Garp, Shanks, Mihawk even admirals), they feel "alive" and it makes you wanna see more of them and their journeys (their pasts or their futures), their like top spirited characters that makes you respect their ways and character

I guess it could only be me then ✋😴

Idk tho, Other mangakas say something similar as well 🙈 (tho it's about Oda's art)
•••• Mr. Inoue, how do you see Mr. Oda's art?

Inoue: It's full of an appeal that is the complete opposite of my work. It's full of life, and has the power to draw readers to specific points. Comparatively, I’m an artist that likes "subtraction". I try to fill things in as little as possible and leave something to the negative space. There is a lot of that in The Last Manga Exhibition. But, I really admire the way Mr. Oda fills his work in. I don't feel any sense that corners are being cut at all. It must be extremely difficult to shrink your work down to tankobon size, right?

I also feel like the One Piece story is very deep and extremely imaginative, positive, and socially relevant, with lots of characters with very well-considered personalities. 🙏

What a ride ... so joyboy and davy are two separate people ... both equally feared by imu?

idc what people say about Oda, but doing that for 20 straight years and being successful at it is pretty dope and rare
