Devil May Cry Discussion Thread

Hard carried by Beastheads. Lady solos otherwise.
Her Instinctive Action, aura, deadeye like perception, and potentially better marksmanship that outclasses lady.
And she also wielded swords.
Beastheads is the cherry on top.
A curse turned blessing.

She also wears battle appropriate outfit and armor unlike the rest.

What are your favorite Death Battle matchups for Dante, Vergil, and Nero? (Which characters do you think would be the best match against these characters based on similarities/connections)

Boxing, Shotokan Karate (Ryu and Ken), Capoeira
Adding, Nunchaku with King Cerebrus Nunchuks, Wushu/Kung Fu with it's fire Bo staff/ electric 3 section staff.
Jeet Kune Do with Gilgamesh one inch punch and in the DMC3 Cerberus cutscene.
Looks like Tai Chi with RG Royal Revenge stance.
Also going back on that, Dante knows any fighting style from real life? Vergil I think knows iaijutsu given how he fights
Vergil also does Bajiquan exclusively in SDT with Beowulf, along with the standard Shotokan Karate like moves BW has.

@Ser_Hakim_Dayne - I've wanted to see Deadpool vs Dante due to MvC3, though I think something like a composite Dante vs ...maybe Infinity gauntlet Deadpool or Dreadpool would be more fair.

Even though I understand why it's not the most popular matchup for Dante, I still prefer it to Dante vs Kratos lmao

There was long ago a 3D animation with Deadpool and Dante fighting although it was fan voted and former won, although they made an alt ending where Dante wins too, one of the few to get one

Yeah, GOW has moved too far away from it's pure hack n slash roots for me to still want it, as pre GoW4 I was super into the match up.

Yeah I saw that, Dante was killed by Vergil lol

Actually he stabs him with Yamato as surprise, then Deadpool beheads him with Rebellion iirc
ha I thought it was Vergil that cut his head off, years ago that was. Don't think that channel does much these days.

Going off your Lady comment, anyone you'd like to see her match up against?
I had Jill from RE, though they have F all relations

I've never been a fan of this matchup even though I think it's objectively good and probably better than my favorite matchup/opponent for Dante (Satoru Gojo).

Most people think of Hellboy as the best matchup for Nero, but for me it's Raiden from Metal Gear (it's baffling that most people don't even mention him even though they have great connections/contrasts imo).

Idk for Vergil yet.

I had forgotten but I still plan to make a thread to maybe remove the Low Godly regeneration of Low and High Tier demons because I am still skeptical with the arguments used in the physiology page (even though I agree with the Mid-Godly for the Demon Kings).

So if anyone has more obvious evidences or better arguments to stop me from doing this, now is the time.

Whatever your opinions and ideas are, they are your own business. We have our own scaling. But we are following a schedule here which is agonisingly slow, and people drop off the map at random times (me). So I would request we post our planned CRTs first. There's lot of editing work to do to fix the mistakes of profiles that shouldn't exist in the first place. Once we achieve some semblence of status quo and presentation we had two years ago, then you can do your thing.

I will also be helping with some CRTs like the creation of the cosmology/UES page, so I prefer to agree with everything that is or will be established for the verse overall.

So now is the perfect time to do a CRT for a downgrade/upgrade since we're doing revisions for the verse.

Ask Tony honestly.

Plot twist: Dante fills Matier's Dark Soul with Light and settles down when DMC6 eventually releases.
Matier? Really?
There was a streamer who thought Dante was gonna pull his pants off and get something with Nevan in the cutscene before fighting her
Honestly though, streamers sometimes think and say some really weird stuff.

However, don't wanna give ideas to Adi Shankar.

Lol if you haven't been convinced by now then you weren’t willing to be convinced to begin with. No one else has been swayed by your arguments either. I'd just make the crt whenever its a good time so verse supporters can deal with it and get it out of the way

This debate about the regeneration of Low/High Tier demons barely lasted a page and wasn't even the biggest discussion, that's why I'm asking this.

But you seem to know a lot about this verse (given that you constantly say my arguments are dogshit), so go ahead and debunk me; I'll have one less CRT to write thanks to you.

From what I remember we went at it for 2 pages

It's just that you refused to acknowledge how low godly works
I asked for low godly regeneration feats, I didn't see any yet.

A spirit/soul becoming corporeal does not mean that its physical wounds will necessarily regenerate; this is explained nowhere in the site and that's pure speculation. Proof is required that their body can regenerate as long as their soul/spirit still exists.

You just refuse to see em. Thats on you lol

Except the spirit itself isn't becoming corporeal, it literally gets a new body to host after a few seconds. And the page explicitly says The ability to regenerate from the complete physical destruction of the user's body, instead restoring it from their disembodied consciousness, whether that be their soul,

Dude no one is convinced by any of your arguments and its lasted more than one page of solid back and forth, this sentiment aint falling out of the sky

you've made it clear what your intentions are, and everyone has seen you drag this out

I've already seen you just headcanon your way out of complete decimations of your arguments multiple times, there is no debunking you because you don't want to be debunked.

At this point your inability to grasp the reasoning behind what's accepted isn't an indictment on anyone but you. Make a crt, let the mods decide, thats the way this place works

Here are the three scans used to justify the Low Godly rating of the Low Tiers in the physiology page:

  • The first one just talks about the consciousness of demons who pass through small gaps to gain access to the Human World.
  • The second one talks about the Greed who release spirits that literally become corporeal.
  • The third one speaks of an intangible creature that is the result of a mixture of the spirits of slain demons.

Where is it said and/or shown in any of these three scans that they can regenerate from complete physical destruction, or at least partial physical destruction, from their souls, spirits, etc?

I literally agreed with Gilver and RedReaper when they presented me with the evidence for Nelo and Mundus's godly regenerations feats. I have no "intentions," I'm just asking for proof; I don't downgrade/downplay DMC just for the sake of it.

To be completely blunt. Neither Reaper nor I convinced you of anything. You convinced yourself. I didn't present new evidence. You just didn't read and/or interpret old ones properly. Reaper did remind us of an interesting point, but they aren't new ideas and don't add anything extra that isn't already known.

I don't see how this Godly regen debacle is any different. Same evidence, Same arguments, just different reading comprehension and agendas. It will be repeat of our debate a while ago.

Reforming an entire body from a non material form is text book definition of Low Godly, especially when they can use it in a combat applicable way(Sloth goes back to sand and reforms it body to teleport, for example), not sure what you're confused about here.
