I'm Retiring as a Staff Member

I thought of you as a really good thread mod candidate, but I suppose that ship has sailed. And I agree with a lot of bad things that have been happening as of late. And yeah, admittedly, agenda scalers don't seem to be punished enough around here anymore. But it was a ride with you around, and it stings to see you go like this.

Dang we actually lost a real one, but yeah I have to agree on those parts. Agenda scalers are genuinely the ones that ruin powerscaling for me, it's not even an indexing site anymore or a place you can truly debate freely when the latter is just silenced by agenda scalers. I could complain more tbh but farewell man, you've always been a thoughtful guy even if we probably never interacted b4
 
Although I can’t help but assume the chance some of this might be related to me. I respect you and your abilities, Clover you were a great calc group member. Me and you disagreed on things so many times yet you maintained your cool, which I can lend nothing but respect to you for. I appreciate you, and your time on the wiki. Have a good life man.
 
It's hard to overstate how grateful I am to have known you. We - obviously - will not stop interacting now that you're moving on from your position. But I'll miss seeing you around here.

I wish you could have been a moderator. You would have been one of the better ones.

While we didn't have too many interactions, from what I've seen you're a good guy and a reliable calcer, even willing to occasionally drop in on verses you've said you didn't want to get too involved with.

As you can see from the title, I'm stepping down from my position as a Calc Group Member. Frankly, this decision was motivated by a few factors, so please allow me to yap a little.

First of all, powerscaling just doesn't really hit for me anymore. To me, it's become more and more of an occasional hobby at best. Not really something I actually wanna put a ton of time into.

Second, I've honestly become more... jaded with the site. A lot of things have happened, or maybe even not happened, that just leave a really bad taste in my mouth. Things that I've fought against, time and time again, only for nothing to change. People who are still here or worse still, still staff members, despite having no business to be as such. Problematic individuals for one reason or another are just not actually dealt with. Rules that let people get away with too much and miss the point of a community by letting vile things run amok. Hell, even just people getting way too caught up in agendas and killing the site's purpose in broad daylight. At least, that's what I got out of it as time has gone on.

I could go on and on, but the point is, with all this stuff along with my own declining interest in powerscaling as a way to dedicate my time, I see no reason to stick around. And so, I won't.

That said, I've made a ton of great memories too, despite what I've said. I've gotten to know people that I talk with and plan to continue talking with outside the wiki. And to those people, I'm eternally grateful for letting me into your lives.

Also, I'd like to apologize to @DemonGodMitchAubin, for I was named his successor, but couldn't live up to the task. 😔

And well... I honestly don't have much to say, so the yap session will end, as will my tenure as a VS Battles Wiki Staff Member. Will I return someday? Maybe, but probably not, if I had to guess. But closing the book on one chapter of my life is not a bad thing. You live and learn. It just means another chapter can begin, and with many plans for my future on the horizon, I plan to weave an even greater tale.

I'll see y'all around, be it tomorrow, or in many years. I'll be waiting, at the far edge of time. 🫡

I hope we can still interact through other avenues outside of the Forum for conversation/interaction in general, but yeah, I'll miss you. Hopefully you can also find a way to report/communicate the issues you're worried about with the site/community to other people you can trust as well.

A bit ironic considering the recent promotions, but yeah, there's been insane stuff going on last year and this year.
