Assumptions and implications does not invalidate a direct statement

unless directly stated otherwise, it’s Roger that gave him the scars

Scars can also grow overtime

Not really an assumption, it’s a pivotal moment in Roger and WB’s relationship.

You’re literally suggesting they shared their final drink, a moment wherein WB remembers as he’s dying and Roger opens up to him on a personal level… and then Roger proceeds to carve him up like a pork roast on Christmas as he approaches his death due to illness?

Your “direct statement” is narratively incoherent secondary canon material.

It really is an assumption… and I’m not suggesting anything, stop trying to put words in my mouth…

it’s clearly stated that the scars are proof of his fights with Roger

There’s no direct retcon to that statement, only assumptions and implications as you even said

After rewatching some old arcs of One Piece, I think I can confidently say I have Pre-Timeskip >> Post-Timeskip overall. The villains are better, with a few exceptions (Doflamingo my beloved), the characters are far more lively and less one-note, the storylines were fresh, I think the creativity I fights was better without Haki being there (I like it, but it’s undeniably made fights a little less interesting), the comedy is leaps and bounds superior, etc. I don’t know, it kinda feels like Oda started developing characters less and treating it more as “Luffy’s story” instead of the Strawhats story; maybe that’s the wrong way to put it, but it just….vibes better.

Just my thoughts.

I feel like pre timeskip was more random adventures with the crew... While post timeskip there's way less of that and instead it's a set mission/goal with the crew 🤔
 
Hmm. I just vaguely remembered that Imu impaled Nefertari Cobra with a black tendril similar to the one he or she used to corrupt and control Xebec. Maybe that will be followed up on? 🙏
 
Yes. Perhaps I am seeing imagined patterns, but Oda is incredibly skilled at weaving them together. 🙏
 
Doing my inconsistent check in on the situation involving sizes of all the stuff that we couldn’t figure out or smth causing people to want all of the calcs nuked or smth. Has anything come of that? Like has anyone figured out what to do?

Nah, I think people want calcs on some of the elements on the planet as it iffy right now, so mostly the verse is frozen right now. Even in Wano, the calcs are all over the place until we get some official numbers.

I think I have some calcs on the clouds. But I think everyone is waiting for more One Piece chapters to come out, so most started on creating some new profiles. As we need good calcs
 
So uh, considering how Elbaph’s been going so far, you guys think Bumsopp is getting any upgrades/powerups in this arc? Personally I have hope, but it’s not looking amazing rn.
