Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken Discussion Thread 20

The previous downgrade thread should prolly be closed to at this point. Staff did not wanna touch that

Also, was peeping Veldora's profile and was thinking we could add Weapon Mastery to his profile. His Veldora Style Killing Arts also includes swordsmanship and a member of Green Fury noted he was skilled in it

In itself, I think so.

I was advised to watch Akira, it's an old anime film from the 80s, has anyone seen it ? And if so, is it good ?

I have a question for everyone reviewing the books in Japanese and from other sources the story implies that Nihility collapse is the same as the void from the abyss of hell as the void devours information particles is a generalized statement about the void. Not to mention the information from the novels implies that the void that rimuru has and the void from the abyss are the same its just that rimuru can generate the void endlessly and both are called the ultimate destructive energy just that rimurus void is "older" if you will

I won't be of much help with your question, but just to clarify, how does the fact that Rimuru's void (which, by the way, is its "void" ?) is older than another change anything? And also, could you tell me where it was stated that Nihility Collapse is the same void as the Abyss ?

It doesn't change anything per say it's just "older" but the narrative and series at least in the Ln don't know about the wn seems to imply the one in hell and void collapse is the same and they both erase information particles they are both described as the ultimate destructive energy and another one is when testarossa said she didn't draw her void against twilight from the abyss which she did it from rimuru/ciel that implies the voids are the same even in the kanji

Oh and it was stated to be the same or at least heavily implied by context in volume 20 but mainly 22

Okay, I understand.

Nihility Collapse is superior to the Abyss. The chaos before it and the point of its collapse into nothingness.

Nihility Collapse is superior to the Abyss. The chaos before it and the point of its collapse into nothingness.
Not what the narrative implies it implies they are the same just one is older not that one is superior I was checking the Japanese version not the mtl

Unless the function the same but one is a "deeper nothingness" that's the only other argument I can see but the void devours information particles is a statement for both voids going by the context of the scene not to mention Testa caught Twilight off guard with it so he couldn't cancel it out he was too arrogant

I mean, older does imply superior. And Nihility Collapse is definitely superior when it destroys the Abyss. It's also implied to be when Testa uses it with her white world spell. Nihility Collapse has always been implied to be one of the strongest abilities.

Devouring infons is irrelevant; it doesn't mean they are equal. And I don't think it's ever said he could cancel it.

One could make the argument that why would testarossa go through the trouble of drawing the void from the abyss if she can just have ciel supply it to her also older doesn't always mean something is superior the diffrent things in tensura have that as a fact
The thing is that in Japanese fuse is clearly trying to tell us something one could make the argument that NC is better but when fuse is talking about the voids they are implying they are the same and do the same things just that rimuru/ciel at the eost have mastered it to a degree that they can create entire worlds not to mention twilight one of the smartest characters was saying "not even Veldanava should have been capable of such a thing" which is controlling the void which also lends credence to the fact they are the same

Cause Nihility Collapse is hard to manipulate, and can easily destroy the user and the world.

also older doesn't always mean something is superior the diffrent things in tensura have that as a fact
Yeah, but theres so much other evidence that supports it being superior. Older is just a small part.

Uh no, they have different kanji, and it's literally said to be different, the chaos before hell and all.

not to mention twilight one of the smartest characters was saying "not even Veldanava should have been capable of such a thing" which is controlling the void which also lends credence to the fact they are the same
How? It really should be the opposite. Since even primordial demons can summon the abyss of hell. While you need a manas to control Nihility Collapse. That's like the whole point of why Veldanava lost it.

I'm just telling you what I saw in those two volumes when I went back too it even twilight one of the smartest characters in the series seems to think its the same as well as the other statements in volume 20 and 22 I could be incorrect don't get me wrong I'm obviously not perfect but gathering all the context they look to be the same and and as for the "needing a manas" Zegion, Testarossa but mainly Diablo have mastered void collapse and they don't have manas Diablo specifically was stated to have mastered it and Veldanava lost it due to not having a storage like Rimuru diablo and the others just borrow some for their attacks or to infuse it into their bodies

I'm just telling you what I saw in those two volumes
Well you saw wrong.

when I went back too it even twilight one of the smartest characters in the series seems to think its the same
I don't think he's ever said anything like that.

Because Ciel helps them.

No where was it stated that Ciel helped them maintain the void only lended it to them and how are you going to tell me I saw wrong and twilight never said such things when I literally reread the volumes if you really did read those two volumes they are right there

No where was it stated that Ciel helped them maintain the void only lended it to them
Idk somewhere, maybe I got it mixed up with Rimuru's cells helping them control it.

and how are you going to tell me I saw wrong and twilight never said such things when I literally reread the volumes if you really did read those two volumes they are right there
Because this is something that's imo very obvious and has been consistently said and implied throughout the WN and LN.

I just sent two images, the narrative is saying otherwise plus wn can't be used for Ln somethings we can cross reference but not everything

I just sent two images, the narrative is saying otherwise
That's a very small part of the narrative.

Testa was using Nihility Collapse with her white world, so his saying that doesn't matter. Both are voids after all.
地獄の深淵が崩壊した先、あるいは──〝地獄が生まれる前の混沌〟こそが、『虚無崩壊』の本質であると言えるだろう
The collapse of the abyss of hell, or rather the chaos that existed before hell was born, is what can be said to be the very essence of the Void Collapse.
This is all you need to prove they are different anyways.

“Oh. So Zegion has that power, too.”
“You know what this is, Benimaru?” asked Ramiris. “Then tell us!”
But Benimaru was hesitant. It was a difficult power to explain.
This is probably the same power that Sir Rimuru lent me…
That was about all that he could say about it, too.
In truth, Benimaru had at least a vague awareness of another presence within Rimuru, one that went by the name of Ciel. Something had guided him to this new power, and thanks to that, the Prominence Acceleration he threw at Milim had all that incredible force behind it. As a result of that, though, he was now terribly battered and bruised"
Here it says Ciel is helping them.

WN is the rough draft; 75% if not more of it is in the LN.

Ngl Idk its just confusing you have multiple people and the narrative treating the void as the same idk why fuse does this stuff... In context in volume 22 its trying to paint a picture as if both voids are the same then we get this -
Beyond the collapse of the abyss of hell — or rather, the chaos that existed before hell was born — that is what can be called the true essence of ‘Void Collapse. which just confused me even more... I do overthink things but damn didn't thing I'd get f***** over like this...

Now I have one more question what would NC grant nep type 1 or type 2?

Does anyone have the statement on hand from volume 22 about magicules slowing stuff down?
@Astral_Trinity439 iirc I think you brought it up?
This?

Swim’s maximum combat speed is sub-light speed.

The speed of light is about 880,000 times the speed of sound. Swim’s speed doesn’t reach the speed of light, but it can fly at a speed close to it.

Although it slows down significantly within the atmosphere, it can still move at more than 100,000 times the speed of sound, making it impossible for an ordinary person to even perceive.

I have a question for everyone reviewing the books in Japanese and from other sources the story implies that Nihility collapse is the same as the void from the abyss of hell
No.
as the void devours information particles is a generalized statement about the void.
Voids in general devour information particles, yes. It's because they erase the information written in information particles, so the information particle is like "Huh? What was I supposed to do?" and doesn't do what the user had imprinted on it.
Not to mention the information from the novels implies that the void that rimuru has and the void from the abyss are the same its just that rimuru can generate the void endlessly
Actually no, both of them are endless, not just Rimuru's. It just depends on if the user controls a specific amount of let's them run amok.

Fortunately, the total energy of the “Void” that could be summoned was proportional to Testarossa’s ability. Because of this, the [White and Pure World] — [Nihilistic World] — was naturally limited in range.

However, that was only true on the condition that Testarossa did not release control of the “Void” and allow it to overflow endlessly and go out of control.
(GPT Rough Translation)
and both are called the ultimate destructive energy just that rimurus void is "older" if you will
Once again, no. In essence:

The difference between Abyss of Hell and Hell's conventional Nothingness/Void is the same as between existence and Non-existence, that is, Abyss is a form of Nothingness beyond the normal.

But still, that's simply about how nonexistent said Void is, ultimately both NEP1 but different layers, working on the same framework known as "Hell".

Taking that into a step even further is Twilight, who introduces us with his Pseudo-Hell (still within the framework of Hell) that basically serves as the endpoint of the Abyss.

It is a power ranked among the highest of the Deadly Sin series, but unlike lower authorities such as [Dominion of the Archangel] (Ultimate Dominion), it possesses no control over subordinate powers.
Demon-type abilities are, by nature, free powers, untouched by domination.
For that reason, no coercive control ability like [Royal Authority Activation] (Regalia Dominion) ever existed.

In the first place, such a thing was unnecessary.

The [Ultimate Skill] [King of Vice] (Angra Mainyu) holds a deadly authority that returns all things to nothingness.

All living beings ultimately arrive at "death".

To lead anyone and everyone to that inescapable place—trampling upon their free will—is the specialty of [King of Vice] (Angra Mainyu)’s [Eternal Return].

“You may continue to perish forever in my world—[Eternal Twilight].”

Malice assailed Testarossa.

The embodiment of vice, feeding even on the wails of the dead from Hell’s Abyss—that is the true nature of [King of Vice] (Angra Mainyu).

It is a vile, loathsome, and detestable authority—far more wicked than the [Demon Race] (Demon) who feed on human emotions.

However, its effect was immense.

The [Eternal Return], which [King of Vice] (Angra Mainyu) boasts of, traps every being within its effective range in a pseudo-hell, forcing them to experience endless nightmares until the world itself perishes.

Those caught within it are denied release, compelled to witness the end of the world—and their anguish and cries of hatred only serve to further strengthen [King of Vice] (Angra Mainyu).

Once targeted, there is no escape.
Even a “Primordial Demon,” well-acquainted with Hell itself, would be forced to repeat a nightmare of endless death and rebirth.

Thus, their soul would gradually wear down—until at last, it returns to nothingness…

Which would come first, the end of the world or their own annihilation?
Delighting in that thought, Twilight cried out with an expression of pure ecstasy:

“Ahahahaha! My malice can destroy even the gods! No matter how ancient you are—someone like you is nothing—!”

And the darkness of the end, the embodiment of despair itself, was about to swallow the white world—
If I had to give an example from another verse, think of it like Anos and Graham fighting with their sources (Anos's source keeps destroying Graham's and Graham's source keeps trying to bring Anos's source to Nothingness)

Do note that the "Soul" (of demons in specific) is already made of Nothingness (the structure and composition of the Soul varies in each world due to them having different composites. And Twilight's Hell was about to, in his own thoughts at least (meaning theoretically true) capable of swalloing what he thought was Nothingness from the Abyss of Hell (White World). Though he failed since it wasn't that at all, lol.

And then there's Void Collapse - It's not "Nothingness" per say, really, it's just called that for concenience, its true essence is more so "Chaos". Chaos that exists before the birth of Hell as a whole framework, and what remains after that whole framework is destroyed (Abyss included).

—that is, only in theory.

In the first place, “Void Collapse” is an "event" that should be impossible to control. What Testarossa is doing is forcibly using the “Void,” which she pours all her effort into controlling, as pure energy.

It could be said that the true nature of “Void Collapse” is the state that lies beyond the collapse of the Abyss of Hell—or rather, the chaos that existed before Hell itself was born.

Hey @Astral_Trinity439.

What ability do you think Laplace would gain from this?

Valentine couldn’t react in time. He, who possesses immense power is being played by such low life trash. He planned on using his strongest skill to take his life, yet strangely, his ability is not activated.
Tonight is indeed the night of new moon; it is the day when Valentine has the least amount of power. But it matters very little when you’ve reached a level such as demon lord.

Perhaps the weakening didn’t really have an impact. Then, there is only one logical explanation.

Laplace is very strong.
That explanation is quite correct indeed.

Laplace is holding something in his hand, something that is still beating.

“—Wuu!”

“That’s right, this is your heart ( core) that I hold in my hand. You can’t move now, can’t even make a sound, right? This is all my work.”
He announces that cruelly.

Unknowingly, Valentine’s body starts to tremble. Almost if…
Is, is this fear? Am I afraid?

“You are rather late to realize that. Yeah, I’m pretty strong.”
Color begins to fade on Valentine’s face, and he begins to show a desperate expression.

What Laplace is holding is indeed my heart —Valentine realizes that in shock and realizes his defeat. Seeing the expression on his opponent, Laplace begins to laugh hysterically and smashes the heart into bits.

I also think so, but we might need more scans, as rn Light doesn't mention existence, even though Darkness mentions nonexistence
Well, if darkness is nonexistence, then its opposing force , that is, light , would represent existence, I guess. Considering the verse treats the two dualities as contradictories.

But yeah , we definitely gonna need scans ( which i think astral has btw).
