SNK Games Discussion Thread

Updating on my progress:

Finished with new NESTS Saga characters (K', Maxima, Whip, and all other NESTS-afflicted characters). Now it's the turn for previous Orochi Saga characters who appear in NESTS Saga.

Probably expecting many characters (aka those who aren't involved in the main plot) to simply be scaled to other characters who fight this character or something similar.

Welp i couldnt check out what i said in time, got caught up in other shit irl

Although just my opinion, i dont think dream matches games are automatically to be dismissed just cuz they got no story going, it would have been something if they got a story that goes against the established main ones, not like it really helps Igniz anyway with his galaxy busting feat thing anyway

tbh I have nothing against dream match titles. In fact, I believe it could provide some supplementary materials, such as additional moves and so on, but that is about it.
 


Was this ever calced? Kula freezing things? May not compare to Yashiro feat, but could be a support maybe if it has decent numbers
 
Also im not sure if it could be included or not, but thought it was worth bringing it up, there is a game called KOF Sky Stage, which is a danmaku type game

Orochi

Manifesting as the Earth's will, this entity sought to destroy humanity. It was sealed away by three individuals known as the Three Sacred Treasures.

However, the “King of Fighters” tournament, held three times by the secret society NESTS, had an effect on Orochi's seal, albeit an incomplete one.

Then, the incident occurred.

Suddenly, renowned fighters from around the world began vanishing without a trace. Participants in the “King of Fighters” tournament were no exception; several went missing, sparking wild speculation across the globe.

Kagura Chizuru, one of the Three Sacred Treasures, sensed that these inexplicable events coincided with a crack forming in Orochi's seal. Someone was dragging the fighters into the dimension where Orochi was sealed, attempting to break the seal from within by sacrificing their potent spiritual energy.

To thwart this ambition, she must infiltrate the dimensional rift where Orochi is sealed and rescue the abducted fighters before the awakening of destruction begins.

But if she acted, the seal's power would weaken, causing the crack to widen. Not only would the damage increase, but it could also hasten Orochi's revival.

Therefore, she secretly resolved to call upon those connected to the Three Sacred Treasures and those with strong hearts who had once participated in the “King of Fighters.”

Yet she was not the only one who sensed the disturbance of Orochi's revival.
A girl possessing both a righteous heart and an unyielding will.
And another girl, freed from NESTS's curse during a previous tournament,
also found herself naturally drawn towards the source of the seal.
With their respective convictions, the bonds of these diverse bearers of power begin to converge...
And now,
the stage for battle rises—to the skies!

From its description, it seems to occur after KOF 2001, when Kula was done with NESTS, i seen a few people around bringing this up for supposedly arguments of big ratings, didnt look much into yet

This does look promising. It appears to take place after NESTS Saga, and there are no apparent contradictions, so perhaps I will make a thread for it in the future.

The only issue is that the website is in Japanese and the wiki are kinda strict with translations these days, particularly machine translations. The game itself does have an English version though.

I'm aware of this site actually. There is the English version of it but since it used to run on Adobe Flash Player, it's kinda broken now.

Yeah only the website from what i could see was in japanese, but there are plenty of text cutscenes to look them up

I think there are ways to deal with the issue of adobe flash thingy, since i looked up sites with these before still accessible
 
In Ash Saga, Orochi was gonna used for powering a gate that connects to all eras. This could also support unsealed/full-power Orochi being Low 2-C.

iirc, Ash Saga's villains were stated to be on par with Orochi or something, so those guys and the fighters would scale to Tier 2.

Given that I have previously argued for the term "worlds" in KOF being referred to as actual universes. This could very well make KOF Low 2-C post-NESTS.

All from 2003 and onward? I remember those from 13 mainly to possess power to mess with timelines and all

I'm still wrapping my head around Ash Saga's plot but I remember that the villains require the gate to manipulate timelines on a mass scale, not their own.

Anyway, this is still a big upgrade nonetheless. I'd probably start another thread for it, along with the current NESTS revision.
 
Apparently, there was an attempt to calculate the lava mountains before mine, albeit with a different method and result. Kinda weird that it wasn't brought up before lol
 
Prolly cuz G1 blog calcs at times are questionable how they got some results, one brought from them a calc for DMC very recently on their thread and it was questioned on its timeframe

Crazy how between NESTS saga and Ash saga, kof sky stage in the middle of them got characters to become baseline tier 2, the all upscale a lot from it next saga, then Verse/Re-Verse and Otoma Raga further added fuel to the tier 2 shenanigans

Although one thing I wanna ask, outside the satellite beam and Orochi light speed feats, there arent any other stuff to buff them out in that regard? Elisabeth has light manipulation from which people tried arguing FTL or whatever

The next saga might boost them to Tier 1 ngl

They might also get FTL via resisting a black hole pull. I do find some interesting bits that may get them higher, but they aren't exactly clear-cut.

If we get a new saga with a kof16 at all, also would that instance count, i mean its easy to get FTL for something so simple, but not sure 100% if that scene at least by other staff may be enough to them, but will see

I remember Orochi has an animation with light falling on him and he moves his hands in a spinning manner, Elisabeth also having light as her main power could maybe some speed via her animation movements with it or something, dunno other instances with light for possible speed existing around

The most difficult part may be proving whether the light attack is real or not, as standards for it are harder to obtain nowadays.

Afair that rela calc they got atm is based on Orochi using light to attack you with it, idr who, but a dude already had it accepted as legit for that to be a thing accepted

Although the only thing i remember is a statement somewhere saying he uses the real deal, but besides that idk what else he brought up for it

Elisabeth though from what i remember had bios of her especially on old site say she uses light to fight with it, kof15 also visually shows more proof of it too

I skimmed through it, but aside from some skill/strength statements for some characters, there is nothing noteworthy in comparison to the current Tier 1 proposal.

What about other stuff? Like LS maybe or other haxes or speed by any chance, just in case for anything somewhat relevant
 
So far, I haven't seen any feats that outscale the current ones we're having, speed and LS that is. I will probably go over them again after the current revision is complete to see if I missed anything.
