It's not necessarily indicative, but their response to the report was to rhetorically argue that all the staff should be banned. Obviously not intended seriously, but not exactly a sign of willingness to listen.

Do you think we should call them in to tell us their side first?Okay. So would a 1-year or 2-year ban be appropriate, or is that too draconian?
If a ban is decided to be appropriate, given the previous ban was one year and this seems to be the same offense, those two suggestions do sound like reasonable lengths.

I would be interested in giving a message to them about it.
Currently, the thread is awaiting Staff Evaluation, has been for a while, & both have been there since the start, so tensions may be high, especially if the contested evaluation by previous staff.
I personally have, regrettably not done so yet, but do wish to find time to evaluate it.
Even prior to this, as you may recall, Sean & Jinx often argued with each other at great length, such as in the Pokemon General Discussion.
I believe them both Knowledgeable Members, & Sean has several long-unresolved CRTs I understand his frustration about (Yes, some believe he may have personal motivations, but the state alone of caring about something personally does not make one's arguments on that matter necessarily incorrect.) that I hope can be resolved, so I would be personally reluctant to see them banned, especially permanently.
However, since the thread has, 7 pages, much of which is them arguing or bumps & other waiting for replies, I do wonder if there are any posts (Even if just posts that are only bumps.), or arguing between the two that accomplish nothing due to them persisting in arguing with one another despite seemingly being at impasses with one another. The two of them arguing on that topic has not seemed productive, & it clogs the pages & post count.
Does this overview of it of mine seem coherent?

I agree with trying to calm them down. I'd vehemently oppose any bans or severe punishment. We're looking at tempers, not ill intent.

In fairness, I don’t think Jinx is as heated as they are prone to fueling the fire. But perhaps that is just me. That said, Sean’s behavior is no better— and has been arguably worse— at least up until the report went live.
Of course that’s a positive step, but it still doesn’t address the underlying issue. It is the same pattern of behavior that got them both banned and warned back in July.
Edit: I just noticed. When the bans and warnings were administered, it was in the exact same thread this report references. And now, months later, it’s happening again in the same place, pages further down.

I didn't realize they were both banned prior for this kind of thing. If the thread's resolved, maybe we should close the thread and tell them both to calm down.

Went through this back to late August. I think all of it is fairly tame but Sean is acting the worst of those present. However, the grievances seem steeped in longer-running feuds, spanning other threads. My stance from this incident alone is that an informal warning should be fine, perhaps with a formal warning for Sean if only because of his history with these threads and the unnecessary provocations (things like jabbing at Jinx's old profiles) being the more severe rule violations on the thread, but this is a petty incident on its own- even pettier than most of Sean's reported incidents in the past.
I think that if this bickering continues, action ought to be taken, but for now I'd really only support a direct warning to Sean to stop starting squabbles.

My sister is visiting this week so I'll have considerably less time than normal, but from what I can tell I'd support stern warning for @Zyurtunder13 and @Super_Ascended_Sean_Pazdera.I am afraid that our community needs your regular help in this thread in order to function properly.
Both cases are worrying given the pattern, but on their own pretty minor in the grand scheme of things.

Sharing pirated stuff is bad on its own, but nowadays rightsholders are incredibly tough on pirating this days, we do NOT want to draw their attention like this.

It was brought to my attention that this user had around 2 years of history of repeatedly editing pages without content revisions. And over the years, it was 5 from staff (Including ones from former staff who were staff at the time of warning)
He also continued to make 2 more similar edits here and here. He didn't just reparaphrase summaries, he also added and removed powers and abilities without approved content revisions and has been a repeated pattern from him since 2023. While someone wants to ban him; I'm not sure if what he's doing is that extreme. Plus he still repeatedly keeps on making edits from time to time despite staff members telling him repeatedly to start actually moving to forum to discuss Content Revisions. Not sure if he's even aware of the forum's existence even though Antvasima clearly told him in welcome message, he does not need a forum ban, but I think applying a block that stops him from editing pages sounds reasonable. That way, we can still talk to him on message walls and convince him to actually move to the forum and start making content revisions if he wishes to be making changes.

The edits seem to be of decent quality, not what I'd expect from a vandal. It's not a good sign that the person isn't listening though. Five warnings and instructions in a welcome message, all ignored. Still, your plan sounds good to me, but I'd suggest keeping an eye on that user for a while if they join the forum and get unblocked.

It was mainly a request from someone I won't mention due to prefer to be private. But, I'm openminded; and at the very least, we absolutely do need to tell him to come to the forum and start making content revisions before removing/adding powers/abilities and what not.

What about if we follow DDM's suggestion of temporarily blocking them from editing pages and attempting to bring them into the forum, but afterwards we keep a close eye on them, and ban if they add anything egregious?

DarkDragonMedeus, what do you think? The idea with the ban seems to be to remove it manually after they accept, but also to last long enough for them to respond, so maybe four weeks or more.
We can suggest it to them, and if they don't want to join the forum we can tell them to avoid making any statistical or ability changes to pages. Maybe suggest an alternative of reaching out to staff in Wiki message walls to get their ideas across to the forum?and tell them to sign up to our forum via their message wall then? I think the short block from editing pages is fine, but we keep the message walls and talk page open. Then we can focus on helping them move to the forum so they know where to go to discuss changes.

I disagree, it doesn't seem to be designed to stir up rage it seems like the user actually believes what he's saying. If he can provide proof then it should be reported, but I think it can remain, personally. This stuff is complicated obviously, but calling someone something like that is likely...

Actually, a good point. Normally Sean would have been pinged, I didn't do it and it seems nobody else did.
Normally, someone would receive a ping or something here. Then the warning would be added to the Tracker and the matter would be (theoretically) settled. You are correct that I did not deem it necessary to give Jinx a warning, and it seems nobody else commented on the subject counter to that.

I guess we can just tell them not to make any major changes anymore, and block if any such harm is done. If they want to make minor edits with no forum activity that can be accepted.
