Resident Evil Discussion Thread

It’s come to my attention that my revamp on the RE profiles are pretty garbage so I’m gonna ask you guys to reply with any problems with any of the profiles.

Things that come to mind are Leon’s “preference for knives over guns in close encounters” being misinterpreted for Leon only using his knife in close encounters and Chris’ nondescript “Analytical Prediction”

I wouldn't undersell what ya have done so far, a lot of the profiles do need significant work but the fact that so much has been added and that they were at a much ass state prior is a big testament to their improval. That all said tho @Baken384 did drop what's definitely probably the best RE profile with that Leon revamp maybe apart from Wesker so like yeah a lot needs to get done

I apologize if I was too harsh on the wording, we can use some better justifications and even I'm not done with Leon's profile. The notable things we need to add are Movie equipment (Degeneration, Infinite Darkness, Damnation, Vendetta, Death Island).

BUT Before we do every single one of those such as Profile revamps, I have briefly discussed with Dale what we should do and it should be fixing the Verse page for Resident Evil. We have to figure out our scaling and sort our Main Calculations for our characters because when I was doing the Leon revamp, I have noticed calculations we use aren't on the main profile, so we should sort all our used feats for the verse page for ease of access similar to JJK or MHA where their calculations are sorted.

Second would be establishing better scaling for characters, I think the biggest is Leon and cast's At Most 8-C durability, the feat they are scaling to durability wise is an explosion that destroys them no matter the context, so an At Most doesn't really make sense to me.

If you have a Discord, perhaps I can add you so you, me, and dale could discuss RE Profiles more efficiently rather than here.

Nah it’s not you, it’s mostly encountering multiple threads, whether it’s a scaling question or a versus thread that has a RE character, and have someone call out something on the profile that is pretty nondescript or misinterpreted. It’s honestly awesome to see people talk about RE scaling again and to see even more changes. Not to brag but I am the one who most of the changes on the profiles so if there’s like a complaint I’d take responsibility for that.

When I think about it, if Capcom were to make another RE1 remake similar to the last three remakes, how would we handle the continuity of this game with RE1 OG and the first Remake?
 
Coming back to this old calculation, I don't really see how it got rejected.
  • We know the Mold spread over the entire village, it wouldn't make any sense that the earthquake would be localized exactly where Chris or Ethan were standing.
  • Miranda's Diary tells us the Giant's Chalice was the only thing keeping the Megamycete from unleashing its full power, calling it a "regulator" in English or "control device" in Japanese. Miranda has control over the Mutamycete which derives its power from the Megamycete itself.
  • At every instance the Megamycete was solicited, e.g here or here, the ground shook.
Thinking the entire village didn't shake rather than did seems unfaithful.

I mean the calc itself provides 0 proof that the entire village was shook and its barely justified in the blog at all if you even want to call that a justification so like its pretty evident why it was rejected, I'd reject it too if that's all I was given. That said though you'd need to simply provide proof of all of this in a blog to get it accepted, the second point doesn't really mean anything though in regards to shaking itself like its a nothing statement to proving anything in regards to a calc. That said as long as you provide ample proof to show the entire village was shaking it should be pretty simple to get the calc accepted especially since there should easily be at least 100m of distance there in the map itself and you could just directly px scale the distance of the shaking

My second point was that Miranda tapped into the Megamycete’s full power when she unleashed chaos on the village. It can cause earthquakes, and it also fuels the Mutamycete, which eventually spread throughout its entire area. I’m not sure I’m explaining it clearly, but we do have some evidence the earthquake was felt everywhere.

And if someone wants to stand at two different locations in game and prove it this way, go for it! 🧜‍♀️

I noticed you guys were going back to AnonymousStandUsers old feat for revision and I saw that you were asking for proof of Mirandas earthquake shaking the village. So I wanted to repaste a compilation message I made in this thread months ago around revising the focus feat which I hope is a useful source of acceptable evidence?


The time stamps in the video below show where the earthquake occurs with barely alive Ethan walking up the stoneway to face Miranda. Much of the walk is pretty shaky and the ancient stone structures are unstable with pieces falling off. The Megamycete plants have also been shown to have broken through the old stone buildings and the walls of the stoneway

I don't need the evidence myself so I'm not sure why its being sent to me here, its good you have evidence but the post you're replying to literally has me telling you what ya should do that the calc in question did not have with it being very clear why it wasn't acceoted but good you have evidence now make a calc

I'd say make an actual calc of the size of the village since the current blog isn't even a real calc, it just takes a value off the chart

Two of the top ibb image links I pasted at the bottom of my message are of a 3d behind the scenes model of the village and an in game accessible drawn map of the village. Would you say that would be helpful in calcing the size of the village?
