Superman (2025) Movie Spoiler Discussion Thread

Regarding the lower power level, I wonder how the DCU will handle Wonder Woman. I really, really, REALLY want to have the gods showing up. I don't want another "the gods have been dead for centuries" story like with Gal Gadot's movie (still good and I like Ares's in that one but still), I want the movie to embrace the mythological aspects of the WW comics, that's the perfect opportunity to show enormous levels of power from figures who won't necessarily intervene regulary.

But that's the thing, she has one just like Clark and iirc, in every version, her's works, unlike his.

I mean, not to judge this by all others, but I think it's fair to hold off on that until we get clear context. Or at least the MFTL Travel should be listed as "Possibly" as we can't discount her space ship yet.
i wouldnt do anything with potential supergirl scaling until her movie comes out anyway

At most, I think the black hole can be used as a feat for his Freeze Breath. If we come to learn that Ultraman survived it later on, then you'll be able to get more out of it.
Eh even then that doesn't really mean much, he was still quite aways away from the Black hole I believe and didn't get past the accretion disk or the event horizon so whatever gravitational effects for the pulling he might have felt weren't SO intense that its worth something since himself, Krypto, Metamorpho, AND Baby Joey weren't harmed where they were at they only felt its pull

Ah, but have you considered that Baby Joey is actually just built different?

Just got back from watching Superman and I was grinning from ear to ear for the entire latter half of the film.

If it wasn't filmed by the cinematographer of the Flash and had 30 extra minutes of runtime to flesh out the Boravia conflict and Clark's interactions with his Daily Planet co-workers it'd be a 9 but I have it at an 8.5/10

Yeah, I would have liked to see Clark hang out with Jimmy specifically a bit more. I've heard it's a little controversial, but I kinda like this whole Pete Davidson thing Jimmy has going on, and I think it'd be fun to see how that meshes with Clark's more wholesome vibe.

i love how ballsy Gunn was writing Boravia as an Israel parallel and Hawkgirl killing the Netanyahu/Ben-Gurion expy with no lampshading whatsoever, but i wish they at least showed Superman stopping the war when he first said he stopped the war

One of my favorite tropes in these kinda movies is when a hero or anti-hero is, "Who said said I don't kill people?" Good on Hawkgirl here, very based of her.

But yeah, seriously, I do wish Clark had came back to save them. Don't get me wrong, Guy showing up was funny. But it did feel a little unsatisfying.

im fine with Clark having his hands full with Metropolis, what i meant was during the interview it would cut to when Superman was in Jahranpur stopping the war for the first time 3 weeks before the story began, that would have been appreciated

Oh, I see what you mean. Yeah, that could have been nice too. Though I get why they started where they did.

Do any of you have the link of prequel? I'd like to read it.
I just finished reading it earlier a few hours ago and getting all the relevant P&A and feats from it but I bought it

i have not found any "sites" to use for free otherwise

Is it any good? Worth a read?
Now I'm a biased source because I really really ******* love Superman (I mean this will be the 4th one I've made on wiki whose verse I did heavy work on) but it was very fun and not that long of a read its only 140 pages in total, Lex and Otis has some really good back and forth and you get to see the start of Superman starting his debut in metropolis and meeting the planet crew, fighting Metallo etc.

Hey, nothing wrong with a bit of bias, we all have 'em (Goku & Simon, my GOATS 🙏). And ya know, sometimes, a fan is the type of person you'd wanna ask about stuff like this.

I was an edgy 'Superman is boring' type of guy for awhile, and while I did grow out of that, I'd say it took until this movie for me straight up say that I'm a fan of the character, now. That's partly why I was curious about the book.

I'm guessing the antimatter river can't ve used because of nothing going BOOM? If it did there could have been some great high end tier 7 stuff for 60% Supes

Literally was telling my friend how they were far away and how the perspective just makes it look like they're close but the bh is just massive.
