Superman's Death had no impact in the actual in the actual story because, well, comics. No one with a big enough name ever permanently dies or gets replaced haha.

Honestly, is it weird that I prefer Superman to not die against Doomsday. Cause honestly, I feel out of Doomsday's best story arcs, Death of Superman isn't even close to being the best.Superman's Death had no impact in the actual story because, well, comics. But yeah, to do that story that early in that continuity was weird, so I'd definitely save Doomsday until much later in the DCU (I'd honestly give him his own movie, rampaging across the universe until meeting Supes, if you guys think that's a stupid idea I don't blame you lol but I'd watch)
But a massive thing id change? Y'all might hate this
Superman doesn't come back. He's dead. And Supergirl, Superboy, and Steel are all his successors
Any idea on where I can read this novel online?I'm trying to see if there's evidence to potentially support heat vision being treated as lasers.
James Gunn described it as such:
"The fact that he can fly and lift buildings and shoot laser beams out of his eyes was really secondary to who he was as a person and what he stood for."
Apparently the Daily Planet newspaper article glimpsed in the movie that was written by Clark Kent about the "Hammer of Boravia" stated that the "Hammer" used an "ocular laser strike".
In the Welcome to Metropolis novel, heat vision beams are described as "laserlike", and reflect off Metallo:

Not in its entirety, as I've had to resort to using the preview function on Google Books. Granted, there's a chance that I might buy it someday, considering it's only like $7-8.Any idea on where I can read this novel online?
Not at all, but it would definitely help set the tone of this Superman imo, also doubt Corenswet will playing the role for too long, so it could be a great send off for him. Doomsday's story arc could be wrapped up with Superboy and Supergirl.Honestly, is it weird that I prefer Superman to not die against Doomsday. I feel its very possible to introduce Doomsday without going the DoS route.
I believe Mr Terrific pulls up the creatures weight for like 2 seconds and it says a million of somethingRough numbers got me like 300000t for catching the falling kaiju. Should be a bit higher tho I overcompensated values due to bad quality footage.
like 4700t.I believe Mr Terrific pulls up the creatures weight for like 2 seconds and it says a million of something
That's flight speed, Superman explicitly doesn't use super speed in combatI'd say we're looking at High 8-C ~ 8-B, MHS, and Class M Superman
It said it was 4700 tons?like 4700t.
I accounted for all that, the almost Class G comes from the given stated values, but then applied to the whole "falls on its ass and supes catches it" type thing.
Like, obviously stopping a truck gonna get your LS beyond just its default mass, same deal here.
We already got a picture of its stats and a calc earlier in the threadI believe Mr Terrific pulls up the creatures weight for like 2 seconds and it says a million of something
Thats your headcanon, he actually explicit is able to percieve events down to the microseconds (stated in the prequel novel), explicitly has at worst Supersonic combat speeds which is also stated, The Engineer is able to keep up with Superman's flight speed and gain on him with her attacks etc. That's flight speed, Superman explicitly doesn't use super speed in combat
Yeah he has super speed and perception but when he fights, regular humans are able to perceive his movements. That's how Lex and his goons are able to read his movements and give Ultraman commandsThats your headcanon, he actually explicit is able to percieve things down th microseconds (stated in the prequel novel), explicit has at worst Supersonic combat speeds which id also stated, The Engineer is able to keep up with Superman's flight speed and gain on him with her attacks etc.
1. Its fiction shit like that tends to happen across all media look at almost every video game, comic, tv, or anime charactet with goons who are subsonic+~higher yet I'm able to perceive them regardless because it has to be playable or watchable.Yeah he has super speed and perception but when he fights, regular humans are able to perceive his movements. Superman & Lois is canon to the DCU?Do you prefer this one over this?

Where is it stated he uses super speed in combat? What feats does he have of reacting to stuff?1. You don't need superhuman perception speed to react to that. If Superman was using his super speed in his fight against Ultraman I don't think anyone would have any time to give Ultraman commands. I'm not saying he doesn't have superhuman combat and reaction speed, just that he didn't use it in his big fightand hell at the very beginning Lex and his crew track Superman's flight back down to the second and issue out orders for counters as he's still coming in from Antartica
That as well as anti-matter resistanceWatched the movie recently and I noticed Clark was able to withstand being in the pocket universe's river that disintegrates anything. He should have deconstruction resistance.
I believe its just antimatter resistanceWatched the movie recently and I noticed Clark was able to withstand being in the pocket universe's river that disintegrates anything. He should have deconstruction resistance.
I dont remember antimatter being mentioned.I believe its just antimatter resistance
No? I mean clearly the blog ain't doneSuperman & Lois is canon to the DCU?
Prequel novels, he's also noted to be the strongest and fastest being on the planet which includes being faster than goons like the creature commandos who can perceive bullets to a crawl and react to them in combat, the same creature commandos who a highly trained human like Rick Flag Sr. Can fight btw, you gotta understand this shit is fiction brodie people can perceive whatever the plot says they can.Where is it stated he uses super speed in combat? What feats does he have of reacting to stuff?
Again its fictionYou don't need superhuman perception speed to react to that. I'm not saying he doesn't have superhuman combat and reaction speed, just that he didn't use it in his big fight
The river substance is just antimatter, research into what Mr. Terrific says ans you'll see itI dont remember antimatter being mentioned.
What's the relativistic feat? The novel blatantly says Supes has microsecond reaction time and fights at mach speeds. Supes at a few points in his fights throws blows that are relativistic or deep into mach against Ultraman.
He could be the villain of David's final act as Superman. Or they could do something with Doomsday that isn't just the death of superman. But yeah, to do that story that early in that continuity was weird, so I'd definitely save Doomsday until much later in the DCU (I'd honestly give him his own movie, rampaging across the universe until meeting Supes, if you guys think that's a stupid idea I don't blame you lol but I'd watch)

Imagine someone with no context trying to understand this comment.Either the Lex Luthor profile itself or a Luthorcorp profile will have Social Influencing with Low 2-C /interdimensional range via Shitposting Monkey's from another dimension
BumpFor Kara, I don't remember them saying she physical flew herself to another Solar System. Doesn't she still have her working Space Ship?![]()
But that's the thing, she has one just like Clark and iirc, in every version, her's works, unlike his.unless they give her a spaceship, we should def get MFTL travel speed with supergirl given her exploring the galaxy and stuff
Not sure, but all I'm saying is, we know their ships can do interstellar travel. Until we have more context, we can't really say either or is the case, no? I E., Reasonable Doubt?I mean we also can't discount that herself, Superman, and Krypto can breathe in space as well, wasn't her ship just for like so a friend can go too or something
Mr. Terrific said he recreated the big bang to make the pocket universe (which could have resulted in a black hole if done incorrectly)Do we know how exactly Lex created a pocket universe? And it's pretty crazy how we already have a tier 2 feat at the first movie of a rebooted universe
A combination of hate, vitriol, and shit posting.Do we know how exactly Lex created a pocket universe?
