Umineko Tier Revision Remake - Part 2

Okay. That makes sense to me. Thank you for helping out.

So, since the other characters fade away afterwards and do not do anything before that, only Featherine and Ange should have tier High 1-A listed in their profile pages, for relevance reasons? 🙏
 
Just want to mention that while not everyone summoned in the City of Books do anything, there are characters who do stuff. The most obvious are Bern and Lambda, who fight each other there, Bern's cats who help in the fight, Battler who fights Featherine's Overlord Cats and Bernkastel, Erika, who is a Piece of Bernkastel, and EVA-Beatrice, who at the time was a Piece of Bernkastel and she also kills a bunch of Bern's cats.

Tho as I've said on the first page, I'm fine if CoB and Oblivion remain 1-A, and only Featherine True Form, Creator Maria, and Beatrice Untapped Potential become High 1-A.

We’ve already gone over that. Those characters should have that key (it's already in the profiles) — let’s avoid rehashing the same topic again. There’s no valid reason not to give them a key, other than an arbitrary refusal to give an upgrade where it’s clearly deserved.

I'm of the same opinion, for the record.

I accept that they're High 1-A here, technically, but I feel like they're probably not notable enough to justify a ton of High 1-A keys.

It would make more sense to me to simply note on the profile of the person who summoned/empowered them that they're capable of doing so.

However, they already have those keys, so I'm not sure if that's within the scope of this CRT. Perhaps someone should bring it up in a new CRT after this where it can be the focus.

Battler goes toe-to-toe with Bernkastel, a High 1-A being.

Beatrice’s pieces can defeat Bernkastel’s leviathan, which gave trouble to Lambdadelta — where they’re capable of destroying books from the City of Books (High 1-A), so they are definitely at that level with evidence.

Beatrice’s pieces (Furnitures) are among the weakest characters appearing at that level (even the members of the Ushiromiya Family are stronger than them)

It makes absolutely no sense not to give them a key. I’ll stress it again — everything in Umineko operates on the basis of pieces. Different pieces are different versions of the characters, so they necessarily need those keys. Not including them would mean the profile is incomplete.

Well, we're no longer arguing objectively here, I don't disagree that it happened and they were at that level. We're arguing whether we feel that instance is notable enough to list, which is ultimately subjective based on our policies.

Regardless, I think it's probably a complicated enough topic to deserve its own thread, so I won't continue to argue for it here.

Well, the profiles already have those keys. So technically, going by the rules of this wiki, if someone wants to remove something that’s already accepted, they should make a thread, right?

I don’t see how literally defeating a High 1-A being isn’t notable enough to be listed. But okay.

Yes, that is exactly what I'm saying.

I don't support removing the keys here, since this thread is about a different large revision, and I think it's generally poor practice to add fundamental large changes to a proposal so long after it's been up and discussed.
 
It looks like every point has finally been addressed, and we’ve reached more than enough agreements (5) with 0 disagreements.

Can we go ahead and apply the changes now?

Probably, but maybe we should wait for one more response from Ant/Qaw just to be sure.

I think waiting three months for one staff member is honestly too much and unfair. Other High 1-A upgrades (like DKD) were accepted with far less rigorous scrutiny.

Umineko is an older and more popular verse that's been debated longer. Just because one verse gets by quicker doesn't mean this one will as well.

But I was only listing potential issues, in my view they were given time to comment and the wiki doesn’t revolve around them. If theh have issues they can always make a CRT later.

Yeah, this thread is a reformulation from the original, posted here on July 14, 2024. With all due respect, they both had one whole year practically to comment on the Umineko revisions, and no counter-arguments made weren't already adressed by the supporters.

She should be, but we haven’t debated that yet — so it’d be unfair to add it right now. That’s why I said we’re going to define the layers in a future thread. We’re using the minimum as a placeholder since everything is outdated.
 
TF Featherine is 1 layer above baseline, as the one in CoB is an avatar of her.

This thread was the one covering Featherine. I think someone else wants to make one for the Creator in the future.
