Pokemon Discussion Thread - Z-A arc

Are you working on a revision that involves categorizing the abilities of Pokemon moves?
I am, yes. I don't really go around looking for every single use in other media of a given move unless it seems notable, especially as we're talking of over a thousand moves at this point.

We got both a release date (October 16th) and a box art, which curiously features what’s most likely an older Emma:

One thing I find most interesting about this is how much focus she gets on the box art, which considering the Looker Bureau being teased in an earlier trailer likely means she’ll play a decently big role in the game.

Through fall damage or not, it (for some reason) bypasses the defense calculations. It probably deserves some sort of note for game appearances, and we should check other moves that do set damage in the anime/manga/spinoffs and see if they make any mentions of that fact in the other media types.

I've never paid attention before, it'd be interesting if someone says something like 'the damage went right through their Withdraw!!!' or something similar in an Anime battle or something.
In Episode 272, a Blaziken is able to reduce the damage taken by Seismic Toss by using Flamethrower to soften the blow. So its not an attack that always deals the same damage unaffected by external factors that could lower Charizard's damage output

Also why do we have 2 general discussion threads? People are still talking on the other one

IIRC, this one is for Z-A Discussion & to avoid spoilering Z-A, as well as to avoid disturbing the other one.

Though both threads currently could stand to have more activity.

That at least means that using Seismic Toss for calcs won't have any screwy results, at least for the anime scaling.

Though, I think the only times we've calc'd Seismic Toss was for the games? Can't remember, I'll have to browse our feat blogs when I have the time.

I'm still thinking about Champions, might have to get the SV DLC to fill out my Home roster
