According to Vox's page, Vox is High 7C cuz he beat Alastor

except he didn't

It's never confirmed who won or lost that battle, nor is it known exactly what happened either. However, Alastor himself claims that Vox is "nothing without the other Vees" and was pretty blatantly implied to be superior to Vox throughout their entire song based on their interactions with each other. Vox wouldn't have acted the way he did if he actually won, as he would have dangled that victory in front of Alastor's face

I propose we change Vox's page to be "comparable/equal to Alastor" instead of "defeated Alastor"

(also remove Vox's victory over Alastor on their profiles for this same reason)

That "battle" where Vox "almost lost" wasn't even a physical fight or anything.

It was a battle of technology. Alastor's radio broadcasts were popular, so were Vox's shows.

They shouldn't scale from each other, at least not from that statement.

A literal possible interpretation: Alastor could have beaten Vox one-sidedly, without any chance, however, due to some event in the city or due to backup, Alastor was not able to kill Vox in time, so Vox "almost lost".

I agree that "almost lost" does not mean he won. They are at best (for Vox) comparable.

now you're throwing in an assumption into the matter.

So it's popularity? Roll the clip where everyone goes to Alastor's radio the instant it's in play again. In popularity Vox gets fuckstomped.

"Almost lost" means there was a winner.

Hey Mickey, what was the entire song about? Vox trying his luck after 7 years alone and getting fuckstomped in the popularity contest. Without the other Vees he's shit... in popularity. He literally has to mind control people to get them to follow him.

not gonna repeat it.

If it came to physical blows and Vox won by the skin of his teeth, yeah, he wouldn't dangle it in Alastor's face because it was a phyrric victory.

Anyways, don't really feel like arguing this. Like I told @TheOrangeGuy09 earlier, if S2 comes out and the context says Vox didn't win alone, I will personally downgrade him. I am an equal opportunity hater. Unfollowing and goodnight.

True but there is still a lack of context surrounding that fight

"Alastor: Is Vox as strong as he purports?
Or is it based on his support?
He'd be powerless without the other Vees"

isn't that an assumption as well?

And do you think someone like Vox ignore his own win even if it was phyrric? A win's a win's a win, and Vox is certainly doesn't seem like a modest/honorable enough person to NOT flex on Alastor if he did indeed win (although I admit that's once again an assumption)

That's fine by me

Before the song, Vox has to mind control people to calm them down and needs to get into Valentino's face and scream at him to get him in line. During the song Alastor's radio dominated Vox the entire time, with it even being shown that everyone would rather listen to the Radio Demon than Vox. After the song, Vox has to rely on Valentino to get someone into the hotel to screw over Alastor, and can't do it himself.

There's a pretty big string of events here and it's all on that on his own Vox has 0 proper support and cannot even TRY to compete with the Radio Demon in popularity.

Just thought I'd shoot that reminder at ya

I don't see how that disproves Alastor's other advantages over Vox

I agree Alastor is more popular

but it's also made clear that he's ALSO more powerful given the evidence I mentioned

ok yeah

alastor straight up says "he hasn't even proven he's the strongest in hell"

with heavy implication that Alastor was the one who beat him
