Unpopular Opinions and (Friendly) Rant thread

The fact you even put rezero there makes it obvious you have to actually check things out (rezero is one of the most popular LNs and has one of THE best anime adaptations of an LN from fans of said genres) because nowhere at all is it lacking in substance, personal anime watcher (me) and soon to be LN reader

While Touhou I get can't be EVERYONE'S cup of tea but are we really doing the 'series looks very nonsensically strong so it's bad' in 2025?? I'm not mad or anything but it's just like.. dude, you really gotta actually check either or out, I highly recommend it. ReZero and Touhou are fine, lol.
I’m mainly talking about the characters I’ve seen. I’m just tired of seeing those series in threads because I know some character I don’t care about with nine million haxes and skill feats is gonna sweep and it’s not gonna be fun to look at. And besides a few, I hate how they look. Just gives me bad vibes

Guys I clicked on this link and it gave my computer a virus. It's been coughing and sneezing ever since. Don't click on this.

Pesci and Prosciutto could have won if Pesci focused in destroying tendons/arterier instead of hearts.

Umineko is like a self-filtering work because anyone who actually internalizes the central message of the story will have absolutely no interest in scaling it
This is true for some other verses too, but Umineko perhaps stands out the most.
An absolutely arbitrary number but I'd say 95% of Umineko powerscalers only knows about the verse based on wiki profiles and respect threads. They didn't actually consume it.
The same situation with verses like Demonbane.

I don't actually mind treating simulations the same way we call all these fictional media to be whatever tier they are. I forgot if these verses' status are noted in their profiles though.

I hate on a personal level about 60% of our standards, so probably, yeah.
I believe it was specifically about how we allocate the "baseline" universe based solely on what is mostly focused on by the narrative.

Also, am I the only one who believes WoG is far too overly used for abilities, cosmologies, etc., and should either be fully banned, or heavily restricted?

ya that feels real subjective to me and I just dont like it at a core level.
Well personally I think it would be very counter-productive to the idea of those characters fighting others in hypotheticals and envisioning what they're capable of in context.

Though I do agree that logically it makes sense from an indexing standpoint to list characters who are canonically simulations as Tier 11, even if the story mostly focuses on them (Like the Amazing Digital Circus or whatever.)

I'm going to go ahead and state the obvious, this guy must have had his account taken by some AI.

I would never get the obsession of any powerscaler where they make the simplest things to things that's like so complicated that is worth of 100+ pages and more

Naming them would be every single Genshin CRTs and apparently this one:

Look at what was being proposed in the CRT, you scroll down and you find people talking about an entirely different stuff cause like the problem is the mechanism that was being proposed there, not the IM2 itself or whatever that is. I mean (It's funny tho I gotta admit)..
Funnily enough, I'm not even complaining about this no more cause I know people offsite overcomplicate powerscaling stuff way more than your average Genshin CRTs on vsbw (Like what do you mean I have to do that, and this, and prove my verse does this just for like conceptual manipulation 💀)

grr simple bad 👎!! overcomplication good!! 👍
