Why isn't their resistance great enough to withstand higher levels of radiation? It's like saying that a character who has resistance to fire manipulation... can somehow withstand the heat of the sun without proof.

Well yes from the heat, but we ignore that. The same Gohan thought lava would kill Broly, if it wasn't for his ki barrier. Cooler also died to the sun yet in the same scene literally thought he could live Goku's Kamehameha wave + his own supernova, while simultaneously thinking he could easily destroy the sun. Baby from GT also died to the Sun.

No in the wiki it'd only take like maybe Wall+ durability to be immune to Lava, we just count that as an Outliner/Author doesn't know how strong the Sun really is. Heat resistance is weird here.

But they are random who have not yet been killed by radiation, you can see even the weak heroes survived, only humans who do not have Garou's radiation resistance who dies for this, Broly is thousands of times superior to the entire OPM verse.
