Devil May Cry Anime show Discussion Thread

DMC 5 is a good finale. Dante and Vergil are reunited and on better terms. Nero finally got the torch as the hero and upcoming star of the series. Vergil got his power hunger satiated and Dante finally has a family.

DMC6 would be a cash grab imo as the many characters already had their arcs completed. Dante through the whole hero story, Vergil through his fall and redemption, Nero to finally protect what he finds is important to him, Lady killing her father and accepting the trauma that comes with it, Trish accepting demons can be good to and using that gift to protect others, Lucia accepting her heritage and using it to protect her people, etc.

A DMC 0 would be pure fanservice, unlike DMC5 tho because people have come to realize Sparda's legend is fine being exactly that. There are no secrets to uncover nor mysteries left behind. (at least not ones that matter to the events in the present)

I have to admit I used to pray for a game that covers the long gaps in the story (the 9 years between DMC3 and 1 or the years between 2 and 4) but the original 07 anime does a great job in that regard as not every day a world ending threat arises. It's just life, it continues and Dante copes with it and goes on living it. (Also PoC being set between 3 and 1 and it sucks ass)

I mean Mundus is still alive, just sealed, one day he will come back to the world and likely stronger and prepared since he would not want to lose to Dante and another Sparda realative again

Vergil deserve a remacth after he was made his puppet for 10 years imo

DMC6 can happen just need them to make a good story for the charcs

Plus Kamiya wanted to make a DMC remake if memory serve me so with him working with Capcom is likely this will happen sooner or later.
 
I think DMC6 can happen but either focus on Vergil or just go for new characters and a whole new story arc

I say this because Vergil's arc isn't really really done, he's now an anti-hero I guess and isn't power hungry anymore, but how about him atoning for his mistakes and protecting the world ? A Vergil vs Mundus rematch for the sake of the Human World would be absolutely poetic and badass, I can see a scene where Dante doesn't stay to "keep an eye on Vergil" in the end because Vergil found his way and isn't a threat anymore

There is room for deep character development for 2nd most loved character of the franchise, the series can go on, it just need to be well written

Just put Vergil saying he can save the world because "if my father did it, I should be able to do it too", but instead of doing for power and control, doing for good and peace, and wait the money farm as he honors his legacy

You're completely wrong "Random". Lady would be way too busy soloing Mundus's entire army + Mundus himself to intervene with Dante and Vergil's fight 🤓

He's expected to be Tier 9 or 8 at most. Basically every demon in the show scales above him, along with Lady.

We can pit that loser against a basic demon like Blitz, the real Dante's weakest key, the real Lady, etc. Maybe another game protagonist.

Pretty confident he gets stepped on and wiped off on the nearest rug each time. That's already what happens to him every time he faces the show's Lady, so he should be used to being a worthless loser by now.

Regardless, heard someone here had Class K for LS and I wondered where I can find them to calc it, it seems the best feats from DT Dante put him at 8-C

F#ck it, rate everyone 9-B off of scaling Lady's durability of surviving punched through a wall and Supersonic+ via Rabbits bullet feat. 8-C for top tiers.

Its more abotu the fact one doesn't gain a lot from discussing the good things about it because no one really wants to interact with that. I liked a lot of things about the DMC anime, can't really talk about it since people don't really enjoy it that much to discuss about that.

Its like going to a community of Hollow Knight and want to discuss you hated a lot of it, but there is not a lot of peeps to share that sentiment

That's fair. The problem in this specific site is that most of us are lore nerds that literally nitpick everything to find whatever shit may be usable for obvious purposes. That lead to us being very knowledgeable and to find it not only entertaining but also very special (for me DMC is basically the best thing that happened to humanity since potable water) and thus will dislike anything that deviates from it.

After we stop ******** on it people who liked it will likely come here to talk about it (ignoring the ones that already do) and just have commons discussions about it, what they liked, what they found interesting, etc.

Technically you should've started doing it and no one of us should shit on you nor argue with you about it, you liked it good for you.

I posted my opinion before on the main discussion thread and nobody really cared, same would've happened here. Being a discussion thread I wanted to discuss about the things I liked but given there is just an overwhelming amount of people commenting about how much they hate the show I can't really have that.

Not saying people shouldn't discuss about that, after all, its their opinion, but I'm just re-stating what I said, you can't really discuss about the things you like with other people if everybody hates the show, there is not a lot of point on doing that imo
 
Yeah I can confirm with steamcharts that the player count increased quite a bit with the anime, though that's kind of par for the course for any noteworthy adaptation that gets released. Pretty sure the Fallout games had a spike in player count when everyone enjoyed the show.

You can start the conversation and people will join, even me. No one here is inconsiderate. We regularly talk shit even about the good stuff in OG for example.

depends on what point of his life.

1-8 yrs old - normal family life, sibling rivalry, harsh combat lessons from father, lots of love from mom.

after tragedy 8yrs to start of mercenary profession at early teens - lots of implied orphan drama, regular assassination attempts from demons, lots care givers and friends dead in collateral. Changed his demon name to human name, lost his powers and memories just like mom commanded, regular nightmares of tragedy.

Mid teens to 18 - still amnesiac, still hunted by demons, stronger demons each time, lots of friction with crime underworld and mercenaries everywhere he goes. Makes some steady friends in his mercenary circle, get's a new 'substitute mom' who made his guns, all dead at hands of an artificial demon clone of Vergil, which prompts his memories back and reclaims his original name. Also his entire reputation and social standing is destroyed by the clone.

18-19 - Starts an official demon hunting business in guide of a detective/security/contractor agency. Meets Vergil for first time in many years and learns his brother is evil now. Suicidal and hedonistic, barely heroic, angsty depressed angry teenager basically who hates himself.

DMC3 - Regains his heroic nature, loses and missed Vergil cries for him, Lady becomes friend and continues his profession, vowing revenge.

DMC1 - Seals away the killer of his blood family and found family, kills Vergil/Nelo, gets depressed by Trish's betrayal, get's pissed off when Trish sacrifices her life to save him, sad that he could not save and help her, becomes happy again when she is revived.

DMC Anime and 2 and novel - Generally bored and depressed after Vergil's death, enjoys company of friends, Patty comes into his life which he likes very much, helps Lucia and Beryl, goes to alternate timeline and back, not much.

DMC4 - gets his spark back when he meet Nero and realises Vergil had a son somehow. But keeps him at a distance to not get attached too much or impose himself, protecting from far basically.

DMC5 - has become bit of a recluse and solitary person, doesn't take much care of himself, not much excitment or purpose in life ,Gets Vergil back, hands over responsibility to Nero, happy with Vergil in Demon World.
