Re Zero Discussion Thread: Season 3 is Real

She is a greater magic user than both of the other two characters who have been shown to be able to and she describes a form of ice magic in her incantation that has the same effect.
I see I see. It's true that Fortuna > Emilia borrowing Puck's power, and they have an absolute zero statement in the last line of volume 8 chapter 4. Also, do you know of any still-canon statements of Emilia (minus Puck) having absolute zero prior to volume 25? I believe little-Lia has one in the WN which was removed.

Also Bonds of Ice. Technically before their contract but still small form Puck.

Doesn't seem like there's any statement for her before volume 25, but Bonds of Ice describes Puck's absolute zero the same as Emilia's freezing of Elior Forest in that it freezes things "for all eternity." I think that kinda implies it's still canon that kid Emilia's was as well.

To be added to all 3 Dragon Sword Reid wielders:

To be added to Authority-users:

To replace Reinhard's immortality justification:

I actually have a bunch of stuff like this prepared lol

So there is a crater on the Moon now from where Reinhard jumped off...

Look at all those stars giant masses of mana burning in the distance too... one day an Al Shario speed calc will be made.

But anyway, that's a fairly big crater, quite possibly a better version of the LS feat he has right now. I also found it funny that they turned Reinhard burning in re-entry into firebending 💀

Holy ****, I went to throw a penny into a water fountain to make a wish and I found a bent incel tweaking with his bones all messed up. Scary stuff man.

Guess we wait to see if anyone interested in calculating this.

Was trying to come up with ideas for it myself, but idk, also don't have enough time to attempt it.

That said, the world of Re Zero continues to be mysterious, we didn't a world shot which was expected, but the Moon is obviously round, while the planet is supposedly flat.

It'd just be a matter of pixel scaling the shot we get to the moon, finding the diametre of the crater for that, and then converting the joules needed to make that crater to newtons. It'll be done at some point.

while the planet is supposedly flat.
Allegedly...

Why he desperately needs acausality back? That thing was useless in his profile before.
It being useless is fine I just find it an apt description of his power :3

Lifting strength revision when though

Tired of seeing Class 5...
Ok ok I have Heinkel Class K evaluated and Roswaal (magic) Class G evaluated, Mezoreia's huuuge Class E is also evaluated but uh I'm not sure whether to scale it to the god tiers physicals. Probably an argument for it.

A lot of the excellent feats in Arc 7/8 (Madelyn crushing Emilia ice wall with a squeeze, fodder Chaosflame citizens tossing boulders, Garfiel stopping the flying tip of Sphinx's Golem's sword, etc.) are promising but I think they may require visuals to not be a pain in the ass to calc. Moguro's 50m body may also be somewhat good given they're made of like stone and steel?

Has it been accepted that Re:Zero has UES?

If not, why does Emilia's punch scale to her other attacks, and why does Regulus' durability scale to it? From the way he was beaten by her punches, it shouldn't scale to him based on VS Wiki standards, if I'm correct. (If Rezero is accepted as has UES then ignore this)

University Entry Scheme?

Universal Energy System
The power systems in ReZero are:
Magic, The flow method, authorities and blessings (am i forgetting anything?)

people can employ specific flow method buffs in certain situations (such as Subaru getting a speed and perception amp, Gaston amping his dura to tank Ley's attacks)
magic and flow method is done with mana while authorities break/manipulate the laws and concepts of the world and blessings are straight up laws of the worlds

The physical stuff along w skill stuff is based on the flow method which i have provided the link for so you can get a general idea on how things work

the blog IS out of date so a lot of stuff needs to be added to it too

I'm just confused what the question is even for. Emilia's physical attacks scale to their current value and her magic varies consistently from at least equal to significantly higher. So, yes, it will scale to her physical stats at least. There does not need to be more explaination than that.

The blog is pretty long, so I’ll read it when I have some free time. Thanks for at least providing something.

Also, some people above should tone it down. I just asked a question. Why act like it’s something everyone should already know? You’re people are giving a bad impression.

Has it been accepted that Re:Zero has UES?
Nope, just a NPES. There's just a ton of feats of people tanking and/or physically overpowering magic, or being stated as equal to a magician's might, which practically makes most magic and physicals comparable (between characters on the same level).

I think you've misunderstood something. I was just confused what you had an issue with.

Some edited Archbishop stuff since many pages' plagiarism levels range from mild to severe (it's a wiki-wide issue really).
Authority of Wrath: Soulwashing: Sirius' Authority activates upon anyone who is aware that she exists, and allows her to freely manipulate the feelings of those affected by it: forcibly polarizing, amplifying, and sharing emotions between people. Using this power, she can brainwash people into behaving however she pleases and even turn them into controlled pawns, or multiply peoples' feelings against eachother to raise them to the point of insanity and death. Sirius' Authority isn't just as simple as forcibly linking senses, but works on the level of manipulating the soul itself. Due to her power over the soul, Sirius can share and transmit physical conditions just as easily as feelings: if she or anyone else under her Authority is wounded, she can force everyone under her Authority to receive that exact same wound. This includes fatal wounds as well, meaning Sirius can force everyone to share in her or anyone else's death. Following her defeat largely due to the efforts of the Songstress, Sirius has been inspired to incorporate singing in order to enhance Authority, her humming being described as something that drills into one's brain– The Music of Resentment.

Authority of Greed: Regulus' Authority of Greed can be divided into two abilities– his simultaneously offensive and defensive time-stopping power: Lion's Heart, and his ability to share his heart to his wives: Little King.
  • Lion's Heart:This ability allows Regulus to stop the time of any object he is touching, be it dirt, sand, water, blood, humans, or himself, cutting it off from the world's flow of time and turning it into a distortion in space. Because the object's time is stopped, it ignores every law of the world, and is liberated from all concepts.
    • Defensive use of Lion's Heart: Regulus has Lion's Heart constantly active, keeping his time stopped. This temporal freeze on his body grants him total invincibility while only allowing his body to receive the force of attacks while remaining unharmed. However, he can consciously decide to become unbound by every law and concept in the world to become totally inviolable, and all objects that come into contact with him will be rejected by his body and completely destroyed without a trace. The crux of Lion's Heart's defense is that Regulus will not change; just as he wishes for total isolation and refuses to change himself, Lion's Heart makes it impossible for outside influences to change him on any level. Due to his body's nature of destroying any object he touches, he must stop the time of whatever he is touching so as to not destroy the object, including the ground under his feet (if gravity is affecting him). The invincibility granted by Lion's Heart extends beyond just making his body invulnerable, but also makes interacting with him in any form, such as altering his senses, impossible. Even metaphysical interaction with his mind or soul cannot be achieved. Lion's Heart's freeze of Regulus' bodily functions means he no longer has any need to eat, drink, sleep, or breathe, and he won't age or even sweat under its effects. The weakness of this seemingly perfect defense is that Regulus can only stop his time for 5 seconds before he must unfreeze it it as he risks heart failure, but this can be circumvented through his secondary ability: Little King.
    • Offensive use of Lion's Heart: Regulus uses Lion's Heart on everyday objects such as dirt, sand, or pebbles, in order to transform them into deadly projectiles that pierce any defenses. Because an object under the effect of Lion's Heart cannot experience change or outside influence, ignoring the laws of the world, it will pierce straight through any object or person it comes into contact with: shredding buildings and people alike, turning them into rubble and red mist respectively. Essentially anything can be imbued with Lion's Heart and used as a weapon by Regulus, even air from waving his hand or his own breath can eviscerate anything it touches. Regulus can even imbue people he touches with Lion's Heart in order to launch them away with impossible momentum, incapable of being slowed, leaving cartoonish person-shaped holes in whatever they pass through. As well as this, Regulus is free to manipulate objects imbued with Lion's Heart to his heart's content– turning water into a floating cube or a rising pillar, and manipulating the structure of buildings as if he's playing with a Rubik's Cube. The weakness of this seemingly perfect offense is that stopping the time of and manipulating objects outside of his own body is extremely difficult for Regulus to manage consciously, but this can be circumvented through his secondary ability: Little King.
  • Little King: This ability allows Regulus to merge a small pseudo-heart into the heart of any woman he considered to be his wife, acting as a parasitic organ. The woman's heartbeat would pump his smaller pseudo-heart even when Regulus' actual heart was frozen in time, freeing him from the 5 second restriction of Lion's Heart. Freed from this restriction, Regulus is able to remain in a permanent state of invincibility as he has been for well over a century, and he can utilize his many applications of Lion's Heart upon other objects without need for conscious control, making using his Authority far easier. In order to mitigate the risk of losing the effect of Little King, Regulus collected a large harem of women as his wives– currently numbering 53– and keeps them in secure locations when he goes out to fulfill his duties as a Sin Archbishop. Little King has an unspecified limit on its range where Regulus must be able to "feel his wive's love nearby", but it at least exceeds 100 kilometers as he is able to return from space.

  • Authority of Lust: Transmutation & Transfiguration: Capella's Authority of Lust allows her to freely transform herself or others in any way she pleases; turning people into formless lumps of flesh, human-sized flies, large dragons, countless frogs, and more. This ability can also be used to regenerate from fatal damage, as she can simply transform her injured parts into uninjured parts.
  • Dragon's Blood: Capella's blood is mixed with dragon's blood, a thick black liquid which carries a great curse. The dragon's blood will infect anyone she pours it into, cursing them with great pain and often killing them. Those who survive are left in agonizing pain, unable to move, and covered in discolored patches of skin.

You're a Regulus fan yeah? How does this look:
(With his time stopped, Regulus is unable to experience change. Lion's Heart makes Regulus immune to effects from all physical phenomena, granting him the ultimate liberation from all concepts. This actually extends beyond the physical, as Shamak which manipulates the senses doesn't work on him, and Regulus was unaffected while interacting with Sirius, whose Authority manipulates the soul itself and activates by merely knowing she exists. Regulus, if he so chooses, can ignore all of the world's laws, making those who are bound by concepts no match for him. Among the world's rules is cause and effect, and the laws of fate)

Most of the description of Regulus' power seems accurate but I'm not sure how clear it is. I'm not sure how well it is explained that because his time is stopped the state of his body and soul cannot be changed or affected by any outside effect he doesn't want to affect him. That's why his authority works the way it is. It is in essence the inability to be affected or changed by anything and everything even on a conceptual level. Whether it's physical force, changes in temperature, manipulation of the mind or soul he's not affected by any of it. Nothing happens. Even if he lets his opponent grab him and throw him into space he will still just boomerang back because on a conceptual level he cannot be affected by the action of being thrown out into deep space. It just feels to me like the core principle of the ability is not highlighted here.

There definitely also needs to be a whole section about the way he chooses what affects him and to what extent and how this explains what could be seen as inconsistencies in his power. It explains why he can be knocked back by Reinhard for most of the fight only for him to not even budge an inch after a certain point. It explains why he can fall down into pit traps that Subaru made for him. It may even explain why he can be affected by Pandora's authority! Although I'm almost more inclined to say that's simply because it's an authority.

And also no mention of Capella's soul manipulation?

This is true. It does stem after all from Regulus' desire to be totally isolated and remain as he is without influence.

this explains what could be seen as inconsistencies in his power.
Yeah, his invincibility is always active, but he's not necessarily always ignoring every rule all the time. He's usually allowing gravity to affect him for example, but gravity is one of the forces he's specifically called out as being able to ignore. Emilia & Barusu even note how Regulus shifts from ragdoll mode to immovable mode.

And also no mention of Capella's soul manipulation?
It's kind of an implicit deal since it's not outright stated in her powerset, but is instead a consequence of the relationship between the body and Od in Re:Zero. The soul stuff is in her list of abilities w/scans anyways, so I didn't think a loredump on Re:Zero souls was needed in her Authority's explanation.

It is in essence the inability to be affected or changed by anything and everything even on a conceptual level.
Slightly edited the "defensive use" part of the explanation based on your input, & added the scans of non-physical attacks failing on Regulus too.

can you also add the author statement about him not bringing his wives normally
He's been seen with his wives twice. He brought two with him to Garkla and he brought all of them to his wedding. When he was strolling along Lifus Highway they were nowhere to be seen, and when he attacked Elior he had wives outside the woods.

I'm cooking...
Regulus Corneas is the Witch Cult's Sin Archbishop of Greed. He is the most infamous Sin Archbishop alongside Sloth, as he is the strongest within the cult and the scale of his rare attacks are devastating.

Regulus was born over a century ago to a poor family, consistenting of his father, his mother, and his two brothers. Regulus hated his family because although they were flawed people, they all tried to be kind to Regulus, which he only saw as pity. Regulus was eventually approached by the Witch Cult and chosen by the Greed Witch Factor, which he accepted alongside the position of Sin Archbishop of Greed. With his newfound Authority of Greed, Regulus killed his entire family for pitying him, killed everyone in his village who had ever looked at him with contempt, destroyed the town that had forced him into such a village, and finally destroyed the country that overlooked the issues in these towns. When he was satisfied, he married a girl from his childhood after killing her family, taking her as his first wife.

Despite his efforts to make her happy, his wife never spoke to him, smiled, or expressed herself. It was only when she killed herself that she finally smiled, being freed from her marriage and knowing Regulus would end up alone– leaving a scar upon Regulus' heart. After making her grave, Regulus began marrying any virgin woman whose face took his fancy, using his Authority to force them to submit; his wives were forbidden from smiling, could not speak unless spoken to, and were always at risk of being killed for upsetting Regulus. The number of wives he took numbered 291 in the modern day, although only 53 are alive today, the rest having been killed by Regulus over various trivial matters.

Standard Equipment:
  • The Gospel: A book of prophecies given to all members of the Witch Cult, it is a defective version of an incomplete copy of the Book of Wisdom. It is a guide to the owner's desired future, but its contents are vague and subject to change, the instructions being up to interpretation.
  • The Little Kingdom: Regulus' harem of 53 women whom were all forced to marry him. Regulus' wives have all have had their spirits broken by Regulus, although they maintain a hidden hatred for him within themselves. These women are Regulus' lifeline, as Regulus can only freely use Lion's Heart because he has his wives take his burden through Little King. Despite being his lifeline, he doesn't attempt to protect them.

Intelligence: Average (Regulus' intelligence is completely average, however his personality and power means he doesn't tend to use his brain. He is easily tricked, he cannot understand the feelings of others, he twists logic however he pleases to justify himself, and he has no skill in combat. He has only displayed a level of creativity in how he uses Lion's Heart when faced with an opponent who he could not easily kill with a simple attack, as his "battle IQ" actually rises as he gets angrier)

Weaknesses: Multiple uses of Lion's Heart can be deadly as his own heart stops when using it; however, it can be circumvented by merging his heart with his wives through Little King. Killing all of his wives will make him unable to use Lion's Heart for more than 5 seconds at a time without risking a heart failure, and it becomes exceedingly difficult for him to consciously control Lion's Heart when used on things beyond his own body. Regulus relies a lot on Lion's Heart: he is an amateur when it comes to fighting normally. His Authority does not increase his reaction speed, meaning he can only travel in a straight lines if moving at extreme superhuman speeds. Regulus has an insatiable need to assert himself, and won't kill an opponent until he has "proven" his superiority, although he may kill as soon as possible if he is in a blind rage.

funny matchup haha
