Star Wars Discussion Thread Canon/Legends- Episode VI Return of the Threadi

Any comic will do. rather I want to know how strong you are in Comp
Comp Force Wielders like Vader is difficult to analyze because he has a bunch of material in both Legends and Canon. I haven't seen a respect thread for composite versions of Vader that is recent. There are composite respect threads but many of them are outdated like 2017-ish with more and more SW comics by Disney being published that further outlines even more feats of Vader

I really like the High Republic. Andor season 2 is coming out so my interest in Star Wars should start again by then.
Indeed. My initial thoughts was that High Republic would just be a shit replacement for Old Republic pre Prequels, but it's actually good. One of the few good things in Disney canon along with Rebels, Fallen Order/Survivor, and Visions

Tbh I don't really like the Old Republic era outside of TOTJ and KOTOR comics. I also liked the Lost Tribe of the Sith stories, but that's about it.

For the High Republic, Path of Deceit, Path of Vengeance, and "A Closed Fist Has No Claws" are some of my favourite star wars stories.

I'm bored so how much more effective do you think the CIS would have been if they had these as some of their units, especially the X-42?

I'm thinking about finally getting to work on the intelligence CRT for the verse after I finish up final exams and can take a bit of a breather. I think I said something about it here before but I procrastinate lol

Light of the Jedi is one of my fav novels ever, High republic by virute of spanning so many mediums and demographics can be inconsistent but i think its by and far the best thing lucasfilm has done in terms of expanding the cosmology and lore of canon outside the skywalker stuff.

one of my issues with the old republic is a concept is that it spans far too long for my own taste that it ends up homogenizing so much storytelling under the same umbrella, outside of the Kotor games TOTJ i think the rest is just kinda okay. and for future reference i hope lucasfilm can create slightly shorter but more distinct eras. for example TOTJ should just not be anywhere near KOTOR on the timeline.

High Republic is fantastic. My favourite story so far in it was Marda Ro's journey which includes the novels Path of Destruction and Path of Vengeance as well as the short story A Closed Fist Has No Claws, that should honestly have been put into an epilogue for Path of Vengeance.

The Tales of the Jedi comics (and audio drama adaptations) are some of my favourite Star Wars stuff from before the Prequels, but I do not like the KOTOR games that much at all, and I'm not big on MMORPGs like SWTOR. The gameplay of the series does not suit my personal tastes, but I also just don't like all the OT and Prequel synergy going on, since the games are supposed to take place a few decades after TOTJ, which has a very different aesthetic and feel. Even the way the Jedi operate has been changed; in TOTJ nobody cared if you were married or started training at an older age, but because AOTC came out like the year before, KOTOR changed it to make it more like the Prequel Jedi. In fact, the term Grey Jedi popped up in one of the RPG books to describe Jedi who didn't like the changes the Order went through from TOTJ to the KOTOR games. For that reason I headcanon Jolee Bindo as being similar more or less to the average Jedi of the TOTJ era.

yeah absolutely, i love the story of KOTOR but its aesthetics are very lame, it doesn't feel very ancient, and the cop out answer is usually the stagnation of technology but as you pointed out TOTJ is radically different yet takes place so close to the games.

if they had to make KOTOR canon as is, id def recommend they push it more forward into the timeline.

HR has prob my fav portrayal of Jedi though, the diverse showcases of how people interact with the force is amazing, like how Avar Kriss feels the force like a musician

Hello, I would like to ask a question.

I was looking at the verses page, why were Palpatine and company demoted? The edition does not link to a CRT.
I believe it was in connection to this thread:

Thanks.

Another question, Anakin from Legends has 1-A due to a clone wars feat, but clone wars is not canon? Why doesn't this apply to canon as well?
The Clone Wars is part of both Canon and Legends, however in Canon the Mortis Gods don’t have the surrounding material to support them being 1-A.

Although arguably Anakin should be 1-C instead of 1-A with the current scaling since he beat the physical incarnations of the Son and Daughter rather than Beyond Shadows.

TCW 2008 arguably for the most of it isn't part of the EU, due to numerous contradictions T-Canon had with both C-Canon and even to an extent G-Canon.

Disney Canon, it treads on contradicting novels and comics.

TCW has been explicitly and repeatedly stated to take priority over C-Canon material. That is the entire point of T-Canon, it is above C-Canon in the hierarchy.

Sure, thanks to the fact that Filoni can’t control himself it has a ton of contradictions with existing material, but he was expressively given a higher mandate.

We might not like the fact, but TCW has been officially declared a pillar of both continuities, which means it is canonical no matter its contradictions with other material.

It sucks though since TCW kind of ***** all over the material that was made between AotC and RotS explicitly made to be canon, explain all the changes between the movies and hype up the release of Episode III.
It also messed with a lot of pre-Ep 1 tpm stories, that the poor writer of the Darth Plagueis had to undo Darth Maul's original origin story because of it.

Shouldn't we be doing more Mandalorian profiles?
I think I could be doing the profile for Grogu, the armorer and Bo-Katan Kryze at a later point, and get some improvements for Din Djarin's

Also, I'm a huge fan of Grievous and Yoda, are their profiles updated for use?

Wym "Jedi physiology"? Ain't something like "midichlorians" more fitting?idk
Standard Force powers (powers coming from the nature of the Force), abilities acquired through training probably divided by category if necessary (Padawan, Jedi, Grandmaster). And if necessary, division on the same page between canon and legends to cover something bigger.

Jedi physiology was just an example, but it could be a page called "Force User" with the abilities of the nature of the Force and tabs divided between types of users (Jedis, Nightsisters, etc.)

Because honestly, it's kind of sad to see profiles like Darth Vader, Obi-Wan and Yoda have almost none (or no scans or references) for standard Jedi abilities.

Ig it'd be more fitting to do "midchlorians" and "jedi/sith" training?
Jedis fight with like 7 fighting stances and sith have their own skills, so I think it'd be justified to separate 2 pages

this vader profile by ShivaShakti has a good amount of force abilities in it if u want help getting started

Also: what about "Mandalorian Standard Equipment" as I plan on revamping and creating a few profiles for them
Yall think it'd be okay?
