Sonic General Discussion Zone Act 1: New Frontiers

Heres my pitch for the T.O.P Sonic line up. Although technically if the ancients were revived they could rebuild the Titans and have them participate so eh. That's a bit cheesey even for me. Also no gods unfortunately so Chip is banned and I would imagine Mephilse and Iblis are considered demi gods. Last Silver and Blaze are probably out by default as well due to the rules. The only exception to the no god thing would be Chaos due to him not being a deity in a cosmic sense.

1. Neo Metal Sonic: Alright have Eggman upgrade Metal to his neo form and have him implant the chaos emeralds into his body. Now Metal has a broken copy ability and the ability to go super when ever he wants. From there have him copy the bio data of the main cast including Eggman so he gains all their abilities and super intelligence as well as the ability to fuse with metal to become Metal Overlord. Keep in mind the T.O.P ring is made of a super metal Metal Sonic could likely fuse with.

2. Sage: She is for all intents and purposes invulnerable in the T.O.P due to her complete intangibility. Additionally she's a super genius in terms of strategising and she can create barriers to defend her team mates. Also Sage can naturally fly and teleport which makes her more mobile than anyone in the tournament. Lastly she can mind control other machines meaning she could swipe most of universe three.

3. Phantom king: Build the phantom ruby into him and you suddenly have an unstoppable hax machine. Enough said.

4. Sonic: Team synergy of course but he also has accelerated development and the ability to resist existence erasure meaning Toppo can't hakai him.

5. Shadow: Same as Sonic but he can also fly with his shoes shoot energy beams and teleport. Good overall and even better if he can spam teleport people off the ring.

6. Knuckles: Aside from team synergy with Sonic Knuckles is here due to hitting really hard and having the natural ability to glide. What can I say DB charecters were never the peak of versatility anyways which shows that hitting hard is sometimes all you need.

7. Surge: Excellent speed and power aside Surge is here due to her endurance and healing factor which could allow her to fight the entire 48 minutes and barely tire kind of like android 17.

8. Kitsunami: Same as above and he has team synergy with Surge.

9. Zavok: He can control the other teams robots become a kaiju and hit really hard. Once again sometimes that's all you need.

10. Chaos: I just needed one more guy tbh since chaos 0 is just meh. Maybe he could consume some chaos drives or something.

Its called a constellation in the official guide, but its technically only one star with an outline.
Also, like, its kinda a weird toony gag feat to actually use since physics don't work like that or if we are being pedantic its just a magical chain reaction via death for it to not just flat out scale.

The definition of 4-A is an omnidirectional explosion that can reach two or more stars that are light-years apart. Doing stuff like sending two beams of energy that individually destroy two stars at the same time isn't 4-A for example.

So you could destroy like, 400 stars, if it's not done with an omnidirectional explosion, it's unlikely to be 4-A. Be it creation or not.

Yeah it's Raphael the Raven
And tbh I kind of took that feat as more of a gag than a genuine feat, but I can see it being a valid feat
 
So I don't know if it's been discussed yet, but I'm mostly convinced that Eggman's going to team up with the good guys at the climax of Sonic 3.

The second trailer seems to show that Gerald and Shadow are manipulating Eggman into helping them under the pretenses that they'll be using the Eclipse Cannon (or whatever it'll be called in the movie) to rule over the world when they actually want to use it to destroy the planet as revenge for Maria's death. So what I think will happen is that Eggman learns the truth, realizes that he can't rule over the world if there is no world, and likely teams up with Sonic and co to save himself.
 
That seems like a given since this is an SA2 adaptation, but what do they do with Gerald? I assume either they’ll kill him off or he’ll be a major player in the Shadow spin-off
 
You know, I just noticed that the rewrite removed all mention of Tails floating without a body in limbo, is that still in the Japanese?
 


Today's bumblekast is amazing, it's all about Shadow Generations, a lot of nice behind-the-scenes stuff, like how they had to decide on what to do, how to merge the lore between the English and Japanese side (Like, the reference to Maria naming Shadow came up from Chris telling Ian about one of Toyoda's stories from Sonic Channel, and they thought it fit very nicely with other exclusive material, so they wanted to reference it all in a modern work).

Funny enough, most of Mephiles lines came up from Sonic Team themselves, they would send dialogue to Ian and he would just edit them to flow better, but Mephiles lines were just so perfect he basically didn't change anything.

They have already changed the intro, but the update states the changes are for 2025. So it's likely some stuff was already done for the end of 2024 and they just let him work with that, but I don't doubt they gave a quick look before publishing (Unsure how it works, and I doubt Ian will ever talk about that).
 
Hey, I just reached a cytscene at the 3rd tower of Rhea Island that seemingly implied, the master emerald brought the chaos emeralds to earth as opposed to it being created in response to the emeralds, anyone else have another interpretation of this?

And then in the next cutscene they talk about taking the emeralds to "the large one that drew us here" ya the master emerald was on earth the whole time! I was worried I was jumping the gun at first but it definitely suggests that
 
I like to think sonic's earth has some sort of crystal core that occasionally shoots out a bit of itself that gains magic powers, hence where all those magic rocks came from, but that the chaos emeralds still came from space and were just 'something else' and now lore fits that really well lol

I don't recall ever hearing anything about a god making the emeralds, I do recall the idea the master emerald was created by Knuckle's clan to control the chaos emeralds, and that the chaos emeralds had just always existed sense time began

That was Sonic movie 2 lore.
 
There's a lot of lore that they have in mind, but only working out now. I know that at least for Super Stars Ian ended up talking about a lot of lore he knew from Iizuka that wasn't in the game, which kinda spoiled revelations that were used in the recent Knuckles one-shot, so I wouldn't be surprised if future comic issues or even games will develop these parts of the lore. They surely know about it, it's just that it takes time to develop, so better not to rush.
 
I'd wager that the Chaos Emeralds and the Master Emerald just came into existence. There's a whole theme about "order" surrounding The End, so it just makes sense that the phenomena of Chaos Energy is a counterbalance to it a la order versus chaos. The End even refers to the target of its destruction as "the chaos of creation"
