Tekken General Discussion Thread

The story mode is looking EPIC. If the opening act is that big I wonder how grand the finale will be.
From the official story trailer released hours ago and a certain stage looking like what seems to be a an asteroid in space, i believe we taking it up a good ass notch
I knew it was coming but Jin getting destroyed by Kazuya is still weird to me. Jin is usually shown as superior in every aspect.
From the official story trailer apparently Jin loses the powers somehow, prolly due to Jun or something, tho tbf Kazuya has to be portrayed as a real menace, losing to the poster boy from the get go wouldnt make him look that big of a threat especially as the antagonist

I just know Tekken 8 is going to be freaking insane given the first chapter and the trailer showed!

Also I have a VERY strong feeling that Kazuya evolved after the ordeal in Tekken 7 when he defeated Heihachi and Akuma thus changing and developing his Devil Gene further and reaching a new stage. Hence why he managed to defeat Jin, plus in the trailer it said Jin was losing himself, and also was knocked out and in a coma for some time after Tekken 6 and during most of Tekken 7.

And from seeing Jun Kazama and Jin's interactions and Jun showering Jin with light...I weirdly have a feeling Jin may gain a new ability (Maybe something related to Angel from Tekken 2?) as we know in Tekken 5 we saw Asuka's Kazama bloodline made the Devil Gene go away. Also the whole thing with Jun Kazama's presence to Jin from Tekken 4 ending. As we might see Kazuya taking Jin's Devil Gene and becoming whole thus achieving a bigger and more powerful form. Thus Jin has to gain a newer form which is to do with Angel from Tekken 2 kinda like a reference to Ryu's Power of Nothingness in Street Fighter, as to show Jin now has nothing to fear and moves on his own path.

Also maybe Kazuya might die in a blaze of an epic fight against Jin Kazama...thus in a sense ending the Devil Gene and the Mishima issue, as the last known Mishima bloodline are Jin Kazama, Reina and Lars.

But then again I could be UTTERLY wrong on everything I said.

As a Lars fan I am eating good.

Bottom: 1st trailer from the story mode

The lighting and rain effects are more apparent in the one below, though the one above its not that far off from it

Kazuya so far has been sorta of a jobber lol. He's track record isn't very great and he barely defeated Heihachi in Tekken 7.
Not of all sudden he's ******** on Jin who is always shown as the strongest Mashima.

Eh i wouldnt call him a jobber, Heihachi in 2 and 4 won by circumstances Kazuya wasnt in control off till later

Tbf Heihachi is hard to kill, even so most of T7 final fight he had the upper hand in the cutscenes

Heihachi had a few moments only of doing better, even then he still lost and then fights Akuma not long after and wins that too
Not of all sudden he's ******** on Jin who is always shown as the strongest Mashima.
The recent story trailer shows Jin has his power disappearing all of a sudden, while Kazuya grows, so something we dont know yet happens in the story preventing him from his full power, plus its just chapter 1, Jin cant be bow stomping from the start, it will change anyway by the final chapter

Yeah Heihachi survived Akuma's ******* Rampaging Demon Fist thats pretty good durability. So it makes sense that Kazuya would have a hard time putting Heihachi down.

Also he did beat Akuma right after and from my thoughts I feel like he evolved in his Devil form hence he is so much stronger than before. Also from the trailer and first chapter it shows that Jin is losing control and unable to focus.

So it's a mix of Jin being weaker and Kazuya being much stronger now.

Jin did get destroyed in chapter 1 so it's gonna be everyone vs Kazuya.

Pretty much as this feels like a final chapter for the Devil Gene and Mishima Saga.

And like Kingdom Hearts it ended one saga and will continue on another one.

Also one of the stages from the final build seems to be taking place in space on a meteor (?), given how it escalated in chapter 1, the final chapter will top everything to a crazier degree

Much like Leo, not interested in Shaheen, gameplay to me isnt much different from a glance, but never tried him either

Not a bad rage art, better design too, but eh the rest for me, fine special intro

Its not a downgrade as others claim, cinematics on both are pretty much identical, only that the lighting and effects get tone down for competitive side to a degree

So very 1st trailer was precisely story mode spectacle, which is made to be that good and crazy

Story mode images leak from gallery, interesting stuff going from them, though kinda leads to some confusion on some aspects

Made a victor sandbox btw

Victor is the founder of Raven units and trained them, let alone is known as Phantom Raven too, also his and Dragunov trailer shows clearly he scales to Raven and Dragunov from their special intros too, its safe to say he is above Raven and M. Raven

Also you were the user who asked about the netflix anime last year right? Welcome to the forgetten realm that is this series most dont care save a few fellas
I pray to god they throw in some High Frequency bs for his sword in there similar to Metal Gear
Dont wanna get my hopes up for such a huge hax, but who knows since the budget is clearly reflecting the 10 million copies sold of T7

Cant wait for the possible space battle on the asteroid stage Jin and Kazuya will have, yes they actually have a stage where you literally fight on an asteroid in space

Story mode will be huge and epic af

Heihachi was really the world's best shot at taking out Kazuya. Jin is a bum.

I also don't know why Lars and Lee didn't think to get a closer eye on the volcano fight to try and swoop in and finish off whoever was left standing between Kazuya and Heihachi

Heihachi was really the world's best shot at taking out Kazuya.
But without a power like his son he lost in the end, Heihachi couldnt keep up in the long run
Jin is a bum.
Tbf it would be anti climactic Jin won easily on him, especially cuz in general Jin was always shown and said to be above him
I also don't know why Lars and Lee didn't think to get a closer eye on the volcano fight to try and swoop in and finish off whoever was left standing between Kazuya and Heihachi
Dont think the camera was able to monitor them, they dont know Heihachi died precisely and going fight them in a volcano either wasnt gonna happen, Jin is the only one, especially a devil gene to fight Kazuya

Btw those who follow this thread and own T7 on ps4, we could play some set of matches sometimes, ask me in pm to add you and have some good ass tekken

What happened to Akuma in previous game I thought he is canon to the story make him part of Tekken character because of License or maybe Capcom? I mean he was in Tekken mobile (after Tekken 7) 5 years ago...

I mean, he was an one off deal, given Kazuya still is doing fine in T8, can be just assumed he died by Kazuya hand

His Tekken 7 fate was left ambiguous with the game ending in a beam clash and volcano eruption between him an Kazuya. The fanbase also really hates him competitively cuz of his different mechanics so they wouldn't bring him back. The story implication is that he got killed since like darkness said, Kazuya's around and he isn't. They'll probably just never mention him again and pretend he didn't exist.

Yeah it seems like Akuma was there...for some reason and given it seems Kazuya murdered Akuma at the end of Tekken 7 thus having Kazuya kinda get stronger than Jin and everyone else making him a final boss in the Mishima family saga.

Plus Kazuya would mention he killed a demon who was sent by his mother as a reference and never use his name, given only Heihachi and Kazuya know Akuma and Kazuya would dismiss Akuma. Seeing that he killed a demon and raised his power even stronger.

Plus Jun is around and has a closer connection within the plot with Jin and Kazuya along with Reina being around.
