We can assume that Zamasu was already affecting that timeline by going to the past, which is why he decided to erase the entire line.

I loved the Ultra Instict transformation though. I believe it has aged well.

Preferred the theme it carried in the manga, also connecting with the fact Goku still has much to learn, even from his old teachers. But then how he obtained it in the manga was also lacking lmao.

How he obtained it in the anime I liked, he got forced to completely calm down in order to survive. But then they also messed that one up when he got the mastered one and showcased rage. Bruh, defeated the entire theme and purpose of the form.

I don't know if you noticed, but the small button that Zen'ō gives to Goku calls the Zen'ō from that future and not the Zen'ō from the past, kind of strange, isn't it?

I think the function of that button is quite simple

Spawn the zeno in the timeline where the person who pressed the button was lmao

I would advise against trying to find motives for Zeno. I do believe he had already started spreading to the timeline, but I would advise against thinking too much about it.

Yes, but there was a parallel world where there is another Trunks and Mai, I believe they go to that world and maybe there is Zamasu, but that Zamasu before he did all the shit.

So the arc basically ends with everyone who Trunks was trying to save dying? Holy sh#t Toryiama, that wans´t a good idea

One of the worst aspects of the arc. All that fighting, all that struggle. For nothing, nothing mattered in the end, because they had to erase it. Worse of all, they had the absolute balls to then go to a new timeline. Everything's fixed!

Insanely depressing ending. At least let Future Trunks stay in the present timeline. So he can grow from their failures. A constant reminder how they couldn't protect their world, how they couldn't protect everyone. With Beerus not letting them get the Super Dragon Balls to save the people Zen'o erased either. A perfect furthering of hostilities against the GoDs, furthering also the themes set up by Zamasu. The gods aren't perfect either, and in many cases, they become adversaries against life itself. This sets up nicely the tournament too, as now the they are forced to work alongside Beerus whether they like it or not.

So many possibilities. But naaaaaah

DBS would be better with it, 100% agree with you, someone like Grand Priest could also forbid the use of the dragon balls to revive people, since it basically made all the deaths in the anime have no impact on the story

Do you mean Toriyama? Toyotaro didn't choose for that ending. The anime predated the manga and it's pretty clear Toriyama mandated it since it's the same in both versions.

Fun fact. While the anime tries to depict Zeno like a wise god who used the ToP as a test of the virtue of mortals and sees Goku and co. as inspirations for mortals the manga makes it very clear that Zeno is just a sociopathic monster.

It's shown he and his Future self were playing with the 12 Universes like chess pieces and they thought there were 'too many pieces' and expressed 'boredom' over observing the universes. So they were going to just wipe out 8 universes on a whim so they had less work to do. That's the only reason they were going to do it. Boredom. No higher divine purpose, no cosmic desire to test mortals. The only reason they stopped is because Goku reminded them of the tournament and it was going to be 'fun' to have the 8 universes compete for survival.

GOAT 17 even makes his wish in the manga to spite the Zenos, which pleases the Grand Priest.
