I like anime girls because they're cute. I like cute things.

I must mention that I am an edgelord, the edgiest edgelord, the lord of edges. Dark fantasy appeals to me a lot because of that.

But I also like ugly, beautiful, cool, dark, depressing, edgy and horrifying things.

There is beauty in darkness, in dark fantasies.

You are the descendant of a missing ancestor who governed over some tracts of land by the sea. Before his apparent suicide, he left a letter calling for you to come and reclaim your lineage and essentially rebuild your family's legacy- the land has become infested with all manner of beasts and madmen.

To pursue this, you recruit the dregs of mankind that rally to your banner, carving your way through semi-random dungeons, balancing supplies and maintaining a team of four characters (of which those above in the images are just a small selection).

Game is graphically outstanding, the little voice acting present is the best in any game period, it revolves around brutal difficulty and occasionally just unfair situations, and making the best of those. Themes are often leaning heavily into Lovecraftian. Second best game I've ever played, the ending is practically a religious experience.

I see, that convinces me to consider playing the game. I'll investigate more about it later to see if I should play it or not.
 
Enjoy. If you find yourself in love, the second one just released this year, and is earnestly one of the best looking games I've ever seen, falling just shy of the lofty heights of Blasphemous.
