Popularity beyond powerscaling communities is good argument, but how to calculate or decide the parameter of it ?
by looking at the page of the novel on voycme and seeing that it has 3x less likes than the average undertale amino fanfiction post that stays for 2 days on the featured page and disappears forever. By looking at it and seeing that it has 50k views collectively which means that if we were to take every chapter there and divide this number per the number of chapters there's barely any views on it. By realizing that the only reason it has popular tiktoks is because they were powerscaling tiktoks and getting views on tiktok is easy af.

yeah but the method of identifying it is kinda in grey area due to lack of data...
there's no lack of data. We know the author's a powerscaler, we know the only popularity the series got was due to powerscaling, we know that the series is not more popular than your average fanfiction on a small site.

All of this is just subjective in all my honest. And I agree with @Sir_Ovens on this point.

also you are guys agreeing and disagreeing, but may I see guidelines?
we ban fiction that is intended for powerscaling. Simple as that.
Biggest cap. First establish the method of identification that it should be objective as it is, then we will talk about its validation.

This verse is not Suggsverse where outright claimed it is for battle boarding purposes.

Also stop with author's personal hobbies arguments. None cares.

Honestly i have suggestion if some Web Novel got Novel or anime adaption of it, then some publisher acknowledge the existence of that WN therefore i think it's enough proof that WN is popular beyond powerscaling community.

If its allowed, then fine I guess.

Regarding the verse's popularity, I'd like to mention that relative to the other series on the same publishing website, Hybrid Mage is doing extremely well. It's been on the home trending page for months in a row and has views equivalent to some of the other series on there.

With this in mind, and the fact that this story is relatively new, I don't think you should judge it purely based on it's view count. The site it's on may just now have much traction in general. And the series may be gaining a lot of views relative to it's total view count in a short period of time. Which I think it important to consider along with just the total views since publishing.

Especially considering when if you are only using that as an argument, we could simply wait til the series has a few hundred thousand views and make this thread again.

On top of this, I see no official guidelines referring to a specific number of views a series needs to be considered on this wiki.

Sorry but I can't find any reason why I should agree here

There is no guarantee that the author wrote this before becoming a debater, I've only been active on the site for a few months, but actually I've been watching the site for a few years. Who would know if I lied and said I just followed and found out about vsbattle a few months ago

Don't we have specific guidelines on what is considered "addable" to the wiki?

If the verse falls inline with those guidelines then it can be added.

If it doesn't then it can't.

The thread has already moved past this issue.

Truly a helpful post of all time

I know this solution is kinda unfair, but it's good if someone still concerned that Views count can be faked, manipulated, etc etc

the guy is a debater now and the series is ongoing meaning that, unless you only make profiles for chapters made before he became a debater, this shouldn't be allowed

Based on what guidelines or rules?

From my knowledge, I don't believe he has sold anything relating to the series.

Keep in mind it is a very new story and new author.
damnn selling your novel is the best way to avoid getting "self-contained novel argument".

Honestly if the author intend to sell his novel then that novel is intended for global audience therefore i think it can have free bypass to vs battle just like self-reference engine novel.

Suggs sells his novels, guess I can use that as an argument if I try to allow him on here too.

No one commented on my work 😭

The notability is decent. Hell, even Manhwas are getting a place here and they are barely 1k views.

@Darksmash the verse you mentioned that got deleted 2 yrs ago can be added. Request or create a thread about it.

Keep in mind it is a very new story and new author.
he posted his story in 2021 and has been making it since then. 2 years is not 'new'. It's modern but definitely past new at this point. not to mention it's getting less and less popular getting 6-8 likes per chapter now

New and old is subjective. Comparing to other novels, it's relative new.

oh yeah i forgot about that lol , imagine if people buying those novels LOL
I actually have a friend who has bought his novels. On top of this, Suggs has said he does get people who buy them.

As far as him being allowed, I feel as time goes on, it's becoming easier and easier to make a case for him.

As someone who has ACTUALLY read the series, I feel it's very misunderstood.
