Ok, so meliodas is probably more skilled, what does danny start with?
Close Combat or Ranged Attacks, Danny's a wild card but has some consistency when it comes to battling. I'll be using season 3 Danny for the analysis.
Close Combat
He some times goes in for close combat which as I said before isn't all that good but he makes up for it with his ghost powers. Along with the standard punches and kicks, Danny also fires the occasional Ghost Ray, when other people grab him or swarm him he'll release the cold energy from his body and freeze them to the point were they become brittle and then shatter them with a punch or a kick.
While on the defensive, he utilizes body control to avoid attacks by opening holes in his body or splitting himself in two like I said above in my previous comment. He also has intangibilty but he mostly only uses that when phasing through walls or the ground in order to get close enough and catch his opponent off guard with an intangible blast from underneath. He occasional uses invisibility to catch his opponent of guard as well.
Ranged Combat
At mid to long range, Danny likes to shot Ghost Rays or other energy blasts (which can vaporizer) or Ice Beams to freeze his enemy solid.
For defense, he uses body control to avoid attacks like in close combat, however he also likes to use his ectoplasmic shields which are capable of reflecting energy attacks and the physical force of attacks back at his opponent. He can also apply his ice energy into his shield to freeze whatever is touching them.
Other Tactics
While the two descriptions above that I gave are what Danny would most likely lead with, here is a few other things he's shown trying.
He has his Ghost Stinger which is him releasing electricity from his hands which can even travel through other attacks in order to hit enemies at a distance, he can shot balls of energy that burst into blinding flashes of light to stun his enemies for a short time, Possession is also something that he uses against other non ghosts which effects the body (on a molecular level), mind, and the soul.
He'll also attempt duplication which would give him the numbers advantage since he can make up to 3 extra copies of himself. If up against multiple enemies or if he's facing of against an opponent he knows or thinks is stronger than him he will likely utilize the Ghostly Wail.
Note
Due to still being a teenager, Danny is cocky in many of his battles which can allow his enemies to catch him off guard, however this doesn't effect how he fights too much but it's still something I feel should be mentioned.
Hope that answers anyone's question on "what Danny starts with?" or "how he fights?"
