Dragon Ball Super Discussion Thread 100

He got Krillin absorbed Cell in a nightmare once in a game that DBH referenced IIRC.
Budokai 1, and it's not just referenced, since DBH uses Budokai 3 graphics and is mostly built off of the Budokai card game thingies. But that's more Budokai starting from 2, more than anything (Gotan model on DBH is similar to Budokai 2's)

I'm not sure I would call that a reference, that's just Heroes (and its predecessors) reusing Budokai's assets. Outside of that, there isn't really anything that directly references the series.

I really ******* hate the 'hurr durrr, 5 minute!!!!' crowd lately, because they are that very annoying crowd of dumbass who think they're being smart by repeating a dumb take about something they have no idea about.

It's really frustrating how they still that around when by the time Freezer showed up, the manga had established and re-confirmed that the fight are at super speed, including talking countless time.

Freeza was just LYING! He knew it'd be longer than 5 minutes, so he wanted to psych Goku out!

35 minutes of talking!!!!!

/s
It's awful how I'v seen all those takes thrown around 100% seriously.

Whenever I see them, I just want to say 'And Goku crossed half of namek in less than a second, your point?'.

It's even worst when they try and say the TOP has the same problem when they literaly establish the super speed by giving a GodPad to Zeno. Power scalers complained but now I understand they put in that scene because people are really just that ******* stupid and will really fail to understand a show written to be understood by 10 years old.

That was MatPat's take on it. He timed out 35 minutes of talking (specifically to Freeza) and claimed that it was impossible for them to talk so fast because sound can only move so fast.

I wonder if he thinks the Grand Priest was lying about the time limit in the Tournament of Power, too.

MatPat's theories are mostly done for entertainment reasons, and even then I think most of them are unneascary and dumb.
Though on the topic of Frieza and 5 minutes, I blame that mostly on the anime putting in filler to fill time in the episodes since in the manga the fight was very quick. Plus it's almost as if the reason why the fights seem to last longer in the eyes of the viewer is because these characters naturally move faster then we can see so they seem slowed down so we can see it

Of course his takes are more for entertainment. But if the 5 minutes thing ends up being a bit more of a topic of discussion for a little bit, then that's why.

Literally had the narrator telling the audience 30 seconds passed at the end of some episode lmao

mftl+ sound.
MFTL+ light too, remember how every single MFTL character ever in fiction can still see while going faster than light? Despite light being kinda needed to see shit?

Yet you never see those brainlet bring that up.

I love how people can understand a monkey alien going at extreme speeds and then using a transformation of legend that multiplies strength and turns his hair yellow, but can't understand that it's likely that sound travels at the same speed they do.
Everything you just said is so true, it hurts.

Krillin and Roshi literally have an entire round of combat so fast that the audience members couldn't perceive any of their movements, in the second arc of the series, which was obviously done to demonstrate that these fighters are not moving at speeds perceivable by humans.

Then you have several feats of them outspeeding bullets, or Goku dodging a lightning bolt, with all of this happening before even DBZ. It's so unthinkable that people still wanna argue that these characters aren't incomprehensibly fast by human standards once they reach decently into just Z, let alone Super.

As for the sound argument, how hard is it to understand that sound is just instant in almost all of fiction, at least when it comes to just talking? Yes, of course, sound from talking travels at the speed of sound in real life, but show me even one verse where that's actually applied in every facet when it comes to fiction.

Hell, even in Naruto, you had them using sound attacks back in the Chunin Exam's, which were clearly meant to be at the speed of sound, but they never had any issues with talking at any point in the series despite that.

Can anyone provide a scan of Whis talking about the fact that angels can die only be EE? Because the current link used in the GP profile is broken.

Apologies for the second request, but I need the scan in which Merus states that angels don't need to sleep.
I found the one about them not needing to eat, though.

I just realised something. Goku was supposed to be a co-mascot for the olympics happening in Japan, right?

What if that long wait was supposed to be for stuff related to the olympics with Goku and it all had to be canceled and delayed because of COVID?

Well as far as I'm aware, the 2020 Olympics were delayed to 2021 so if that's the case I'm not sure if there really has been anything planned for DB aside from the manga and anything Heroes had cooked up. Though I will say myself that it is sort of frustrating that we haven't had any new information regarding the status of Super or a new anime but hey, not much I can do about that

Also since we have a profile for Xeno Kid Buu, could the same be done for a few other characters? I was thinking of making a rough draft for a Heroes Janemba profile with two keys, the first key would be Xeno Janemba (the one who had absorbed one of the Dark Star Dragon Balls) and the second key would be the one which appeared in Big Bang Mission, I think it's called Janemba Black or something.

What about Golden Metal Cooler?!??????!?
He was so badass
Keys should be like this
Keys: Xeno Cooler & Xeno Golden Cooler/Metal Cooler/Golden Metal Cooler

@LightReinh12345 there isn't a Xeno Cooler, rather it's Cooler from Cooler's Revenge that was kidnapped by Fu and put on the Prison Planet.
Also as far as I'm aware he isn't different enough from his canon counterpart to warrant a profile, it's the reason why the Capsule Corp versions of Goku and Vegeta don't have profiles since they're pretty much the same as their canon selves.

Sort of? CC Goku and Vegeta (as fan refer to them, which I will) have been implied to have experienced several of the DBZ movies including Tree of Might, both Cooler films and Bojack Unbound but that's in Heroes obviously and it doesn't correlate with the actual canon Goku and Vegeta.

I See I sometimes called heroes versions xeno even though its wrong
I am aware of Capsule Corp Goku & Vegeta not much different from Canon & they should not have Profile for now
But that guy literally has Golden Cooler Form which is mixture of movie ideas & DBS ideas
Then Golden Metal Cooler which is insanely crazy to think about he can do multiple supernovas at once
Also this vegeta somehow knows cooler & others even though canon vegeta doesnt
Does it has to do anything with the return of cooler btw?!

Well just because Cooler has the golden form doesn't change the fact that he isn't any different from movie counterpart so he doesn't necessarily qualify for a profile atm.
Also again the reason why CC Vegeta knows about Bojack is because he and Goku went through the events of several DBZ movies, heck Future Trunks from DBS also knows about Bojack and has battled him in the past.

Eh I love Cooler but I think Janemba is more interesting in concept and in moveset.
Though speaking of Metal Cooler, in SDBH he has access to the Metal Cooler Corps and can give them the Golden form if he so desired which I know doesn't sound special but it's pretty interesting that he basically has an army of multiversal characters at his disposal.

Trouble is, those are two different Janembas, so they couldn't share a page. (Also neither are different enough from regular Janemba to warrant their own pages.)

I guess technically, since the game doesn't differentiate Cooler like it does the Xeno characters, you could do that - we've seen a singular Metal Cooler commanding the Metal Cooler Corps before in Heroes. It still wouldn't be enough to differentiate him though, since regular Cooler's page already incorporates the Big Gete Star.

What about Masked King?!?
He is an incarnation of King Vegeta from a world separate to the main timeline who is a member of the Dark Empire
Or Tekka & Pinich from DB Fusions?!?
