(Spoilers) Pokémon: The Crown Tundra Discussion Thread

So, we need profiles for:
•Calyrex
•Spectier
•Glastier
•Regidrago
•Regieleki
•Peony
•Nia (?)

And new keys for Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres.

I can work on a majority of these.

I think they're more akin to Galarian forms. Farfetch'd for example just has his Galarian form as an extra key.

It was agreed upon some time ago that regional variants will just be separate tabbers ability-wise. I could do the Bird Trio

GMoltres seems a surprisingly powerful pokemon, considering this:

"It exudes the energy churning within its body as an aura akin to a column of raging fire, leaving ordinary Pokémon unable to even approach it. It is especially skilled at attacking opponents’ minds by spreading its wings wide and unleashing a wicked aura. Opponents hit by such attacks are overcome with deep fatigue, as if all their energy has been burned away."

"This Pokémon's sinister, flame-like aura will consume the spirit of any creature it hits. Victims become burned-out shadows of themselves."

Oh yeah, we should give every single participant in the Galarian Star Tournament a new Key, as well.

The only issue is whether we should put them at Large Mountain Level or at Multi-Continent Level, since they fought, and fought alongside, a Victor that HAS to have caught 4 Regis by this point.

Also we don't need a key for rematching the Pokemon League, in the base game, as we doubt he did in canon and the same liberty was not given to Cynthia.

considering you win regardless, a high 6-A key is not the way to go. Just because you face something, doesn’t mean you’d scale to it.

Kind of salt inducing that they can't scale to what occurs in the Max Lair regardless. It is literally an organization that fights Legendaries to get data on them canonically. So unless you really want to say they just capture them which makes NO sense considering they get data by battling, not capturing.

That is something we agree on. Especially Penny, one of the Leaders of Max Lair who goes on the Expeditions fighting Legendaries within the Max Lair, is exclusively is stated to be an powerful opponent and not one to be underestimated by either Mustard or Leon. Both of them stated they needed to get serious to hope to beat Penny, which gives you an idea that they weren't casual or barely trying against him.

Ngl 0 Pokémon should scale to the Creation Trio. Maybe their avatars, but we don’t have any scaling or profiles for their avatars alone. Now, if some solid lore comes out as Eternatus is suddenly rivaling the likes of Giratina or something (which would be awesome), then we probably could. Until then, no one can compare to the literal Deities of the Pokémon world.

"This Pokémon generates intense cold air within its body and emits that cold from its nose and hooves. This cold air covers Glastrier’s face and legs in unyielding ice, giving its attacks extraordinary destructive power. Nimble movements are not Glastrier’s strong suit. But it can use the cold exuded from its hooves to freeze the ground, letting it shoot off sliding across the ice to close distances in a flash during battle."

"Glastrier’s might and stamina let it charge through the snowiest of lands and the worst of roads on its thick, burly legs. It’s also belligerent and proud and takes anything it wants by force. It apparently can’t help challenging any strong opponent it sees to battle."

"Glastrier’s Ability, Chilling Neigh, is a new Ability introduced with the Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass and Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass. When a Pokémon with this Ability knocks out a target, its Attack stat is boosted."

"This Pokémon craves silence and solitude and tends to be active at night when its energy is heightened. Its nocturnal habits have left its eyesight weak. But Spectrier’s other four senses are keenly sharpened, and they give it an accurate sense of the terrain and the locations of living things."

"Spectrier takes in nourishment by absorbing ambient life-force emitted by other creatures. It has sharp hearing and a love for peace and solitude, so it avoids any involvement with other living creatures. However, Spectrier will attack any trespasser that disturbs its tranquil territory in an effort to drive the intruder off."

"Spectrier’s Ability, Grim Neigh, is a new Ability introduced with the Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass and Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass. When a Pokémon with this Ability knocks out a target, its Sp. Atk stat is boosted."

"Glastrier’s powers are heightened by Calyrex’s psychic energy. The cold Glastrier emits can reach three hundred degrees below zero. It also has the endurance to run for seven days and nights on end, no matter how rough the road, by instantly freezing and smashing through any obstacles in its path."

"Moreover, Glastrier’s intense cold has brought out the full potential of Calyrex’s psychic powers as well. This lets Calyrex manifest its powers over a radius of more than 50 kilometres."

"Ultrapowerful icicle lances that pierce mountains"

"Calyrex can use its psychic energy to condense the cold emitted by Glastrier into gigantic icicles. It can fire these icicles at opponents like arrows or wield them like lances for charging attacks. These psychically strengthened icicle lances appear powerful enough to blow holes in rocky mountains and pass through them completely."

"Running thousands of kilometres with swift strides and spectral power"

"Spectrier’s skills have been heightened by Calyrex’s psychic energy. It is swift enough to run thousands of kilometres in a single day, and its spectral powers have gained strength."

"Moreover, Spectrier’s unearthly might has unlocked the full potential of Calyrex’s psychic power. This lets Calyrex see all events from past to future. The regal Pokémon can manifest this power over a radius of more than 50 kilometres."

"A powerful spectral aura that steals opponents’ life-force"

"Calyrex can pour its psychic power into Spectrier in order to create countless small will-o’-the-wisps and rain them down on opponents like a meteor shower. It appears anything touched by one of these wisps can have its life-force stolen while also being scorched with burning heat. Moreover, Calyrex can condense Spectrier’s spectral aura into a large, black, mist-like mass. This mass is imbued with the power to absorb life-force, and it sucks in the souls of nearby living things like a black hole."

Geez. Crown Tundra actually kind of improved on the Hax of Pokemon. Life Force Absorption in one hit for not one, not two, but three new Pokémon?

Pretty sure all three of them have it as AoE Aura as well, and Shadow Rider has AoE Soul Manip as well on top of it.

A profile for Calyrex seems very interesting, as he has quite good abilities like mind manipulation, soul manipulation, a ridiculously powerful clairvoyance/precognition, etc.

God, Galar really is just the hax generation, huh?
Nah, Gen 4 remains as the hax gen for obvious reasons.

Until we have proper feats, we could probably scale Calyrex to the Birds, mainly because the Galar variations of the Legendary Birds should be comparable to the normal ones, and both can be found in the same region (and it’s worthy to note that Zappos and Moltres seemed very hostile), very close together may I add.

Where does the Statement of Regidrago and Regieleki being the strongest of their elements put them on? Is there a non legendary electric and dragon type Above high 6-A?

If Regidrago really has the power of every Dragon type, then he should be comparable to Rayquaza and, if we stretch it, Mega Rayquaza. The Creation Trio are also Dragons, but let’s ignore that because they’re the Creation Trio.
Besides that, I don’t think there’re any non-legendary/mythical 6-A Dragons or Electric Types besides Pikachu sadly.

pretty sure it just means non-legendaries.

sheesh people, let’s try to avoid A bit of wanking. This literally happens in every new gen.

Though I am curious how powerful Regidrago would have been if Gigas had managed to find more of the crystalline dragon infinity energy. Probably one of those things we'll never get to see, like the original Dragon

IMO, Rayquaza shouldn’t be the limit. You could argue that this applies to the Tao trio as well or even Zygarde.

The only legendary dragon types that should remain untouched from this are the CT (for obv reasons) and Necrozma/any dragon type UBs for being foreign to the main Pokémon world.

EDIT: This is obviously assuming if Regidragos statement doesn’t just only apply to non-legendaries.

The Regis are hidden away in caves, while the Birds roam about and are pretty openly hostile (as soon as you come across them, Moltres screams at you, and Zapdos charges past you without worry and attacks Moltres). Birds would probably be a safer bet.
