Whatever happened to the DBZ speed downgrades?

This was supposed to happen a long time ago. We were regarding Piccolo's feat as an outlier. It was temporarily postponed, likely because Rad made a calc, but neither Antoniofer nor I were for that (no offense, man). Even disregarding that, Matt actively debunked his own calc, and Goku's slightly above lightspeed feat was debunked as well. We were planning to scale to Frieza's supernova speed feat for destroying planet Vegeta. We basically scaled between the Snake Way feat (or the DB Classic feat. Whatever's higher), and added Kaio-Ken boosts to it (I personally have a problem with multipliers in general, in not just Dragon Ball, but any fiction. But I digress) up until Frieza, where we made logical guesses.

Basically, to summarize the scaling for everyone under Frieza is somewhere between HHS+ and Relativistic+, Freiza to Semi Perfect Cell are FTL, Ascended Super Saiyans to Dabura are At least FTL, and upwards of that to the very beginning of Super are likely FTL+

I think that we should preferably get this done, yes.

Good. That change happened. It seems they don't have the "likely", though it likely doesn't matter.

@Rad, you obtained similar results cuz you're using the same size, the problem comes from the island size, doubt that its that big, buildings can still be watched from the pic; also, mountains of over 100 km of height sound farfetched...

I linked the calc of the island in my blog. If u disagree with the size of the island go to the other calc not fine but it is already accepted by like everyone and is the reason Piccolo is low 6-b.

The downgrade rather hinged on Rad's calc not being MHS+, as it would have actually made the sub-rel feat more consistent.

@Rad. It's the fact that you assumed a mountain size and distance when you can scientifically calculate a different size.

I didnt assume the mountain size, I compared it to the Island size and got that number.

Also @Antonio you accepted the the Papya Island Size

"Strange, according to the explosion page, yield would be 3.2 Teratons... Anyway, seems fine as long it doesn't contradict the guides. I just wonder how is the difference too big between the calcs"

You know, now that you mention it, why did we accept that size for Papaya island. We put calcs above everything else. WoG, statements, etc. If it was calced to be 30 km in size, why do we assume a different size just because a guidebook says "pretty darn big." I mean, just look at Demonbane. The creator will tell everyone that the verse peaks out at 2-A, but it goes against our feats/calcs trump all mindset. I'm pretty sure Termina wasn't supposed to be Multi Continent Sized, for example.

We didnt assume a different size, we calced a different size.

The guidbooks say nothing about the island and the original calc is lost.

OBD. The one here is very easy to find. Used google, searched our history, etc. We really didn't cite our sources back in the day.

You weren't around for the original thread. Piccolo's feat should regarded as an outlier. MHS+ is far from a lowball for dodging lightning in Kid Goku's case. If anything, it's wank. Dodging lightning can be as low as subsonic. The feat doesn't surpass even the HHS calc. Finally, the flying to other side of the planet was debunked as well, as they weren't far from the ship during the whole Frieza debacle.

@Magi

While the Math aspect of Matthew's calc may've been solid, the context on it is whole other story. I've done calcs for feats, only to realize they're completely bunk context wise. Here, for example.

So if Matthew feels the Buu saga feat isn't valid in new context, then he has every right to "debunk" his own calc.

I basically assumed that Buu flew across the universe like in the anime, but realized that the manga never shows nor implies that, but rather states that Bibidi would seal Buu and transport him to his targets.

Just a reminder that this is supposed to be a staff only thread.

Sorry for the late response, there were a long blackout here.

@Rad, yeah, I remember accepting the calc, however, sorry if I noticed this now, but I can se elements of the view that suggest that the island isn't that big. If we need to confirm this, we would need more scans of the Papaya Island.

I known that map, but with what I can see, it contradict the real size of the island, at least the size showed in that cut of the explosion. Here's another shot, and it seems similar to the other one, buildings can still be watched from the air.

U cant use the anime, not to mention it looks completely different from the manga. Also there many instances of things looking way different from page to page. I could downgrade Tie with the same logic.

The calc is already accepted, if u want dont like it make another thread to discuss it.

Huh, so the thread finally appeared, I made a blog about the Papaya Island size, it need to be revised; but right now I'm going to sleep.

@Amenix, I'll proceed to delete the post due Staff Only, but don't worry, that doesn't worth a ban.
