Sans has been watching Reinhard wander around murdering people (this means knowledge on his most common tactics) and is completely serious, Reinhard... I don't know if he is ever anything but serious when he actually decides to fight personally, but in character. Battle takes place on an indestructible planet.

This is only Reinhard, he cannot summon his legion.

P.S. If you say "Reinhard throws his spear gg" I will slap you through the computer screen. I want legitamate well thought out reasons! I want debate! I WANT A BATTLE!

Just gonna say this for once and not comment on the actual fight to anyone that LOVES to comment on matches that have Masada's Antags here: Reinhard in characters does NOT automatically use his Yetzirah/Holy Relic's ability of throwing it. That makes him nothing more than a punk-ass bitch of an antag. Guy likes to do up-close fighting given his desire to have a real fight. Seriously, he had an up-close fight with Ren, who people probably don't pay attention to seeing as Masada's protag's aren't interesting enough to look and talk about at least, in a CQC fight. He never threw it at him AFAIK but i'll let others whose really into it answer that or put more into it.

So yes if anything, pulling up the "Reinhard throws his Spear" argument is really getting old. Like most or all characters here, he has other ways of combating others in battle. It's not that hard to actually give a little thought about it. Though i can't really answer of when he uses it, i do recall someone on the wikia saying of him using it whenever there's a big enough threat to him.....or if there's someone he REALLY wants to love (coughdestroycough) someone. That or if he gets really pissed off of having no challenge as he almost went to use it on Kei and Ren in Kei's route.

Ok for a real debate Reinhard can practically use his legion to shield him and some of the legions are innocent people i think (considering they are mere civilians as well) and i don't think the more kill count screw you move hits more than one person at a time. Fenriswolf will get the jump on Sans plus he is glass canon so there is that. Musphehirm will damage him rapidly in the soul as Sans is in the railgun only can cross-dimensional teleport out (which idk if he can then again he already gets hit so i think he goes down). Bey's briah will make sans more tired and weaker as time goes on so that makes it worst for Sans just to name a few things reinhard can do

So all in all while Sans can end Reinhard with the retribution the thing is Reinhard has ways to get close to Sans or weaken him should he try to run away and can escape the move if he uses his legion. However he would try to run at Sans first but he would teleport all over the place so that may make him use fenriswolf. Will right now give it to reinhard 8/10 though tbf idk much on sans so if an expert can elaborate i can give a better evaluation
 
I applaud you Monarch for giving some good thought into a battle for Reinard and Sans two of which I love on this website, thought I admtted only have actual connection to Sans since I have no truly easy way to "play" any Masadaverse stuff.


Honestly I give this to Sans, he really needs ONE hit from the likes of it, as Reinhard as undoubtedly killed millions.
 
@Redgrave this is only Reinhard, not his legion as well. So he still has the powers of all his followers, but he can't summon them as well. Also this is speed equalised, as speed unequalised sans would blitz before Reinhard can activate Fenriswolf (apparently sans is a higher end of MHS+ while Reinhard is only baseline MHS+)

Yeah technically, Reinhard could just literally use his Legions powers himself while his Legion just sit back in the Castle chilling and waiting for him to finish....or just doing whatever they would be doing while their leader is battling some skeleton guy in blue.
 
Wouldn't Eleonore's Briah make this still kinda unfair, considering how much of a glass cannon Sans is?

I mean, until Reinhard used it, it'd be a really good fight, but once he uses it, the fight just ends. Sans has no way to dodge that, even if he teleports away.
 
That's another thing that's true of Rein using her Briah. That thing retains the property of never missing, meaning that unless Sans has a way of dealing with it or transport to another universe (as i don't recall any of Elenore's flames going beyond that), he's gonna get tired and hit from it.

Of course, this only happens IF and WHEN Reinhard uses it. As long as he doesn't, Sans should be perfectly fine to deal with Reinhard in the meantime.
 
Just pointing out that Elenore's "never missing" briah means it will constantly chase you down, you can still run from it.
 
That is a point. Sans just have to really go for the kill on Reinhard assuming the first bone/KR/idekanymoreonSansattackeffectssoi'mjustgonnagowhateverhere doesn't kill him, and he could get the win.

IDK of what would happen to the flames tho once Reinhard dies from Sans attack(s). I assume they disappear but if they keep going even after the formers death....hmm...
 
Is there such thing as a draw in VS Battle if both characters end up being killed, or is it just who ever dies first loses?
 
hmmm Sans has stamina issues also i think we should remember using Eleonore's briah doesn't just let her never miss getting them into the railgun would burn continuously think of it as burning the opponent the moment they enter however i'm not sure if reinhard can pull a person in the railgun if using rubedo's briah.

Does the retribution focus on the soul? If it does only focus on that along with physical then Reinhard can resist but maybe at a near death because of it. Also can't sans use blue mode to make reinhard lose mobility?
 
KR damages the SOUL, which is more than just a soul. It's described as the "culmination of one's being" and includes the body, mind and soul, and I think admin Azzathoth once said it damaged the concept as well, though I'm not sure about that.
 
All monster attack the soul its said at snowdin books that, but they also do physical damage like undyne slicing a bridge in half.

Good point. If Rein used Schreiber's Briah perhaps it'd become a solid result, but I don't think he'd use it against Sans (Well, at least, not initially).

About the KR part though, while the bones are going to deal an awful amount of damage to Reinhard, I doubt they can oneshot him. Reinhard has conceptual, physical, mental and spiritual resistance, so I'm sure he can take a few bones before dying. The thing is, could he kill Sans before Sans kills him first?

Without considering Eleonore's Briah... I suppose this'd be inconclusive? I mean, I see Sans killing Reinhard, but the "after-damage" that Reinhard will most likely cause (Eleonore's flames, just burning the scenery, or maybe throwing his spear on his last moment of life) are going to bring Sans' doom.

Reinhard's arsenal is too much, Sans only has his KR but Reinhard has his shit ton of other ways to kill sans. Reinhard.
