I'm going to be blunt. There's a double standard there. Frisk gets his durability scaled to Asriel who is infinitely above him, but Ness doesn't have his durability scaled to Giygas who's infinitely above him. Both took shots from the other, and the latter was even able to minimally harm his enemy.

The thing is that Frisk's power fluctuate due to DT, while Ness doesn't. Also, Asriel is more like Infinitely above Chara and Flowey

Even possessing Determination in bat climactic battle, Adriel's stats still remain at infinite compared to yours.

His stats are just infinite, not specifically infinitely above you. Asriel's stats won't lower when you become stronger.

No one has shot down the possibility of ness getting some inverse scaling from giygas much like Seiya gets from hurting hades from Saint Seiya AFAIK.

Has it been brought up yet? if so can that feat be proven to not be PIS or game mechanics?

I don't think it's good to call double standards without giving proper context.

Edit: The cases also don't seem to be comparable, Frisk' power varies a lot in-game and his 2-B tier seems to be a tentative rating rather than a true cap to his power.

I mean, Ness' power haven't been shown to fluctuate as bad as to become infinitely stronger.

Well according to what I heard from Azathoth, Giygas is only Low 2-C in the latter part of the fight, meaning that Ness didn't hurt the Low 2-C form. Beside, Ness can't be Low 2-C, if the reasons for Giygas to be Low 2-C is being infinitely above Ness (Who didn't get any power up, unlike Firsk). Heck, wouldn't that be High 3-A?

Didn't Ness get a big power up when he went to that dream world place?

Pretty sure that was waaay before he even fought Giygas. I think. I'm not too knowledgable about it.

Why Ness is only universal when he damaged Giygas who is universal+?
He didn't. In the final part of the fight, Giygas has become so abstract and unfathomably above the heroes, that all they can do is pray.

It was way before. The fight with Giygas is the last thing in the game.

Ness and the rest of the gang never harm Giygas. They required help from the rest of the world and breaking the 4th wall by calling the player of the game to beat him.

If I recall, Giygas having infinite HP was just a game mechanic made so that they needed Pray to win.

Asrie's infinite STATs are not a game mechanic and are an important part of the story.

Dude you know this thread is from 2016 right?

"Important part of the story"

What?

Asriel stats doesn't change anything at all.
