So this is something i have been wanting to do for awhile, but I just didn't have the time or drive to do so. Now I do.
Utilizing Inherited Skills
Now, Inherited Skills are usually what grants many lower tiered Digimon their hax abilities. However, I do not think that we should auto assume that they suddenly have all possible skills available to them unless this is specified. Basically, inherited skills should be treated in a similar vein to Optional Equipment. What's an inherited skill and what's not will be noted on the profiles.
Guidelines
When making a Digimon file, you are taking Digimon at max capacity as what is possible at the absolute limit in terms of skills and evolutions. However, due to the nature of evolutions, these skills should be reserved as an optional factor in battle and not be considered automatically part of the package as they used to be.
We missed this one, all Digimon should have Type 1 Inorganic Physiology due to them not being Organic lifeforms.
This should be it and shouldn't really take long to conclude before the forum move.
Dark Song and Nightmare Syndrome
Dark Song is noted to be a sound based skill that leads to the opponent to death. Currently it is rated as "Death Manipulation", however based on the text, I actually believe it to simply be Impmon utilizing its Mind Manipulation. Also, it should be treated as Paralysis Inducement as Impmon can use it as an attack that paralyzes foes as well.
Nightmare Syndrome is simple. The abilities that Bakumon and Digitamamon use are noted to be the exact same skill. This means that it actually has two uses. The Sleep Manipulation and Dream Manipulation usage and the Offensive Information Manipulation and Durability Negation usage. Nightmare Syndrome users should be noted to have both abilities, but are more willing to use one variation due to whatever their pre evolution was.
Dark Fire
Currently, Dark Fire is treated as El Evangelo due to Digimon World: Dawn/Dusk noting that it came from the Abyss, i.e the Dark Area. However, the original Japanese description instead notes that it is a flame made of Darkness. Now we have revisions for the "Power of Darkness" planned that will affect every Darkness user in Digimon. But until those revisions, Dark Fire should be considered no more than simply Fire and Darkness Manipulation.

- All canonical pre-evolutions are too be accounted. No arbitrary restrictions to this, except...
- No contradictory ones. We've mentioned the same ZeedMille to Barbamon or any Digimon who Digivolves to or from a member of the Seven Great Demon Lords.
- Specific members or groups who have canonical story based evolutions will not have inherited skills, only the species files will have this. And even then, it would be a separated from their base skills. Basically, Royal Knights and Three Great Angels are not to be touched aside from their canon story evolutions.
