Gaunter O'dimm ability revisions

I believe the following abilities should be added to his profile, reasons below.

Dream manipulation:

In Professor Shakelocks journal it is said that after he started living in the magic circle that O'dimm drew for him he started having horrible nighmares, but then they stopped and he instead started dreaming of a daughter he never had, and started feeling paternal love for the dream daugher. However, a couple weeks after those dreams started the daughter died a horrible death while the Professor was unable to do anything to save her, and realized that he dreamed of the daughter only to lose her, which was O'dimms doing. This very heavily implies that O'dimm has the power to manipulate the dreams of others, and professor Shakeslock outright in his journal stated so, which is why it should be added to his profile.

Illusion creation:

In Gaunter's realm he was able to create an illusion of Shani falling off a cliff, which was realistic enough to fool Geralt into believing it, even though it didn't really make sense for Shani to be there.

Yeah the Illusion Creation is very simple, same with Dream Manip

He should also have Absorption as he can not only remove but also absorb souls.

Maybe also some degree of Fate Manipulation? Djinns already can do that via wish granting and Gaunter is hilariously superior to Djinns and mages. Gaunter himself said that he just "learnt" to control time itself, so he also might be able to learn many more hax abilities.

I agree that he has a case for fate manipulation, as the circle was designed so that if the professor left it he would die, and he did pretty much immediately after the fact.

Very well then.

But isn't it still the same Soul Manip? Alsowhere was it?

Looks like smt like Fate Manip to me.

A bit offtopic, but was it ever revealed who was the man, who win in a game of Gaunter?

I don't believe the mans identity was ever revealed, it was just stated that a person like them existed in the past.

That's a good theory, actually.

Well, I wouldn't say that its clear, that he is absorbing soul, but I do think you're right.

Other abilities Gaunter might have:

Sense Manipulation (Just reading about O'Dimm made Professor go blind)

Possibly Immortality (Type 4) (O'Dimm's last speech before vanishing was telling that "You are insignificant. You think you've defeated me but you are wrong. I can't be killed, I will be back." in Elder Speech)

Very obvious Power Bestowal (Can grant nearly any wish, granted Immortality for Olgierd

Possible Transmutation (I will quote english Witcher wiki because I find it interesting)

"While his name isn't directly mentioned, it's heavily implied that he's the beggar that turned Marlene de Trastamara into a spotted wight in the Blood and Wine expansion through the following:

  • A letter found inside the abandoned house states that the beggar sold mirrors
  • It was mentioned that the beggar broke his spoon before casting the curse, just like O'Dimm did before wrecking the ship that was holding Geralt captive
  • O'Dimm's theme music plays in the background while Geralt explains Marlene's curse to his majordomo"

Sense Manip - maybe, it may have been just a curse.

Immortality - I was thinking about Immortality, but type 8, since he is an evil, and "you can't kill an evil" by Prof words. Possibly type 4 seems okay.

Power Bestowal is very wierd in all pages. When it should be, it's not there. Anyway, if he can give powers not via wishes then it's okay, if not, then it's already covered by his Wish Granting.

Transmutation is... weird. I mean, I can agree and think it is reasonable, but I think someone would be against it, since it is too much speculation.

Yeah, absolutely. But not Power Bestowal. At least not in this case. If he can do that only via wishes, then we will write down smt like: Power Bestowal (via Wishes). But he already has Wish Granting. So, seems wierd. If he can bestow powers just because, then its fair.

Also found this. Would it count as air manipulation as he seems to be using wind to sweep off the sand and dust on the ground?

^That may be just telekinesis or some use of his ridiculous abilities, he could even have Spatial Manipulation but idk if breaking mirrors in his world and controlling it counts as it

Also possible backup on sense manipulation, as it is revealed that when professor Shakeslock talked with Gaunter he was able to see him clearly despite already being blind. Would this count or would it be another ability?

It could be stretching it, however this is backed up by this dialogue here. I guess it depends on how much we want to take Shakeslocks word on this, but he at the very least clearly believes it to be the case, and I don't see a reason to not believe him considering the other information he provides seems to be accurate.

Summary -

Dream Manipulation (Made Professor Shakeslock have dreams about daughter he never had and gave him a nightmare of her dying)

Illusion Creation (Made Geralt see Shani in his own world falling off a cliff and tricked him into believing she was real)

Fate Manipulation (Far superior to Djinns who are also wish granters that can manipulate fate itself. Drew a circle around Professor Shakeslock that if he left, he would certainly die, which happened later when he accidentaly left it)

Absorption (Of souls. Absorbed Olgierd's soul)

Sense Manipulation (Made Shakeslock blind just because he was reading about him)

Possibly Transmutation (It's heavily implied that he turned Marlene de Trastamara into spotted wight)

Possibly Immortality (Type 4) (O'Dimm's last speech before vanishing was telling that "You are insignificant. You think you've defeated me but you are wrong. I can't be killed, I will be back." in Elder Speech)

Perception Manipulation (Made Shakeslock see him despite the fact that he earlier made him go blind)

How does this even works? Usually in crts I ask knowl. members, and if they agree, then it is acepted. What now? Do we need some votes, or someone from the staff?
