American Dragon: Jake Long Discussion and Reconstruction Thread

I was doing this slowly. I've got most of the episodes but so far their isn't anything new but I'll be keeping an eye out for sure.

His profile does need some updating that's for sure.

I know for a fact, Jake's intelligence is not High. He is similar to Danny in this regard. He is cocky and reckless in combat as seen in the first episode and he makes foolish choices in life like you standard teenage. He does get better and can use his abilites well so currently as far as I know. His intellegince should be Average.

I'll do some work on his profile and add a Notable Attacks/Techniques section to better explain his powers.

Just some comment on intelligence section:

Ya many protagonists just have average to above average intelligence instead of "genius" intelligence (unless they can command a nation or solve some big problems or researched on some great formula or devised a grand scheme).

But they still have excellent combat skills.

(One notable example would be Tohka Yatogami - below average human on daily issues, still skilled in combat.)

That will be noted in his intelligence given Jake can still fight the Huntsmen and Huntsgirl (in close combat), both of which are trained to fight and kill magically creatures. So he has some combat skill.

Also, Jake's Class 25 rating is unsupported. However, in the episode I just finished watching with the Tooth Fairy, he easily ripped one of those large monitor screens that you see in New York Time Square, off the building and tossed it like it was nothing. Don't know if that's class 25 but it's definitely a lifting strength feat. I'll link the feat tomorrow when I get the chance.

Edit: I've updated his intelligence and added a Notable Attacks/Techniques section.

Here are two noticable feats from the Dragon Summit episode.

https://youtu.be/1CUwLFbfqMA

At 9:40, Jake fires a powerful blast of fire that destroys a large structure and puts a hole in the ground. This happened do to him being effected by magic sneezing powder but the powder is not stated to increase his fire. He just couldn't stop sneezing.

At 21:37, Fread Nerks shots a fire blast that causes a creater and causes the inside of a volcano to shake and crumble a bit. the Volcano's size however is unknown.

I started watching the show and I'm working on the Huntsman's profile.

I'll check the feats later to get them calced.

Huntsmen has some decent abilities with that staff he uses.

In "The Hunted" episode, Jake survives getting directly hit by a oncoming train, although he was knocked out cold. Not sure what the durability would be for that feat.

I'll get a video of the scene tommorow.

Okay, I checked both feats. First one is either high end Tier 9 or low end Tier 8, considering the damage Jake did to the structures.

Nerk's is probably a lot higher just with the volcano shaking.

From that blog I see that cutting trees can by Wall level to Building level depending on the tree size and how it's done. Jake is superior to a guy who casually chops down trees with his bare hands iirc but I think the trees were small, I need to check.

Well I'm watching season 2 and while I remember they changed the art style, I forgot how bad it looked. Jake's Dragon Form looked like he could manhandle people but now he's scrawny like Danny Phantom. But the worse thing about the art style is what they did to my girls the Oracle Twins!.

In season one they are actual twins, they looked exactly alike, the only difference was their personality, hair style (not color) and clothing. In season 2 they look nothing like each other, their hair style and color are different, eye color and face don't match and such. I didn't even know it was them until Trixe said their goes the freaky Oracle Twins and I'm like WTF!, they aren't twins, who are these girls.

Ok so Jake learns duplication in season 2 so we might need to put a season 1 and season 2 tab for his powers and abilities. He has shown to make only one so far without being enhanced by a magic potion.

Season two Jake gets Chi Manipulation and Duplication because in this episode his Grandfather decides to teach him more advanced Dragon Techniques and states. Dragons have the ability to "project their chi" and form it into a clone of themselves.

Here's the episode https://youtu.be/ufrC2DPmUfk 3:40 is when Jakes Grandfather shows off and explains the duplication technique.

I'm working on Jake's profile in a sandbox so we can apply all the correction at the same time. Good to know about that.

Ok cool, I won't edit the profile. I'll keep watching and see what else I can find.

What are the summarised conclusions here?

We are simply going through the series and compiling feats, powers, weaknesses and putting them on this thread.

The Calaca is making a Sandbox for Jake's profile. When that's finished we will edit the profile.

Okay. I have to unsubscribe from this thread due to time constraints. You can notify me later via my message wall if you need my help after you have reached a conclusion.

I have found an AP, Durability and Lifting Strength Feat all in one in season 2. Depending on the results we might need a second Key for Jake.

https://youtu.be/DNCZa18B-xA

In the episode "Hero of the Hourglass" at 00:57, Jake blasts the Huntsmen into a stone pillar with his fire breath and at 1:02 we see the force caused the pillar to split and fall. At first we don't get a good size of how big the pillar actually is but at 1:29 Jake stops the pillar from rolling over the ledge and crushing people and gives use a full shot of just how thick that stone pillar actually is.

So the AP feat is Jake blasting the Huntsmen hard enough to cause the pillar split, the durability feat is Huntsmen tanking the force and getting right back up and the Lifting Strength feat is Jack stopping the pillar cold.

Jake should have Non-Physical Interaction since he can hit disembodied souls.

In the episode A Ghost Story, Jake fights several ghosts who are stated to be souls and when he attacks them, he's capable of hitting them. When Trixie and Spud try and hit them, they can't. The main ghost states it isn't easy to fight a ghost and another one stated that they want to put their souls in bodies so they could touch and feel.

https://youtu.be/qkXXD6RJsZM

12:09 to 12:30 Ghosts want actual bodies and plan on taking others. One states he wants to be able to taste, touch and feel.

15:23 the ghost states all their souls will go into the cup and when the sun rises, their souls will go into the campers bodies.

15:37 Jake hits one but at 15:42 Trixe and Spud just phase right through them. 16:30 you can see their entire forms get sucked up by the cup which said it would suck up their souls, so those forms were there souls.

@Jason

The Huntsmen use green laser beams that could possibly be light. The beams reflect of mirrors but I have yet to find more evidence. If I do, then Jack would likely have some Relativistic, maybe FTL reaction feats since he has dodged them before.

Gorgon Sisters also shoot lasers from their eyes that reflected of the lenses of some glasses but that's all. Not enough evidence to assume real lasers especially since their magic.

Cheat Controller

In the episode "Game On" Jake gets his hands on a magical controller that has cheats. Jake uses the controller more than anyone throughout the entire episode but it gets destroyed in the end so this will be put under Optional Equipment. Anywho, these are the powers Jake has shown with the controller.

Time Manipulation (The controller allows jake to rewind time)

Statistics Amplification (Jake used the controller to buff his physical strength, speed, intelligence, agility and charm)

Power Bestowal (The controller can grant the user powers which include shields and invisibility)

Aura (Entered a cheat that put a protective aura shield around his body)

Invisibility (The goblin used a cheat to become invisible)

Gravity Manipulation (Jake can enter a reverse gravity cheat)

Sleep Manipulation (Jake can enter a the one hit k.o cheat)

Social Influencing (Boosted his charm which allowed him to smooth talk Trixie)
